  1. It was a simple point...the NFC east was not that good this year. Not sure why u got your panties in a wad over a simple observation

Weren't the Cowboys, Giants & Redskins all in a possible playoff contention till the last wk-17 game of the season?

    Yea..that's right. I remember...

The winner of the Redskins/Cowboys wins division

and the Giants had to beat eagles (did)

and needed the Bears & Vikings to lose to get wildcard.

I wouldn't call 3 playoff caliber teams a "bad & weak division" of the NFC East.

If it wasn't for that terrible Redskins secondary in the first Giants game where Cruz catches a ball behind the secondary with a 1:30 left, RG3 brings the Redsins to a comeback win over the Giants and the Redskins sweep the NFC East of 6-0.

    Now that's impressive.

  2. All 3 could be argued for winning the award.

I honestly believe what seperated RG3 from the other 2, was winning the NFC East.

When you factor they went 5-1 in the NFC East

Won the Division for the first time since 1999 (13 seasons)

And the reigning SB Champ Giants are in same Division

You can say what you want about RG3, their offense or whatever.

But the fact remains, both the Colts & Seahawks did not win their respected Divisions.

If any team should appreciate that more than anyone, it should be the Colts with how they have owned the AFC South for over a decade --this yr.

It also tells you how important it is, to win your Division and how the media/voters look at it.

  3. Luck looked depressed at the awards show last night.

RG3 takes the Heisman from him

RG3 takes the ROTY award from him

RG3 will probably take all the Lombardi's from him as well

  4. Here's a quote from Sporting News: http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2013-01-21/robert-griffin-iii-rg3-rookie-of-the-year-sporting-news-2012-nfl-awards

Griffin is the Sporting News Rookie of the Year, headlining an extraordinary rookie class of 2012. Two other first-year quarterbacks also led their team to the playoffs—Andrew Luck of the Colts and Russell Wilson of the Seahawks. However, Griffin far outdistanced everyone else to win our award, with 363 votes ahead of Luck (213), Wilson (124) and Tampa Bay running back Doug Martin (57). The award was determined in a vote of more than 800 players, coaches and executives.

If these numbers are correct, he beat out Luck by 150 votes, with Luck coming in 2nd.  Wilson for a distant 3rd followed by Doug Martin.

What the voting will be for the AP, is anybody's guess. I would imagine it will be closer. Specially if the voting doesn't end till Jan. 29th.

    But still...150 votes?

  5. i obviously want Luck to win the ROTY but I also really think he will...  the experts will take all things into consideration and Luck will win it

I believe RG3 won it. This quote from another site. http://forums.prosportsdaily.com/showthread.php?797942-Robert-Griffin-III-Rookie-of-the-Year

Haven't seen it officially announced yet but Redskins beat writers have been congratulating him and RG3 himself has been retweeting fans that have been congratulating him on twitter.

I agree with RG3 winning the award. Dude was a freak.

     hamgriffin.gif

  6. What RG3 did was impressive, imo.

I also agree that it can be argued he saved Shanahan's job.

Highest rookie QBR ever of 102.4

    66% completion & 3200 yrds

    20 passing TD's & 7 rushing td's as well as 800+ yards

    Won the NFC East Division

    only 5 INT's

5-1 VS NFC East Divisional Opponents

never had a multi-INT game all season

It's one thing to get this kind of efficiency from a veteran, but a rookie?

    Amazing

RG3 had a better than 2011 Alex Smith type of season (17 td & 5 int)

with Cam Newton rushing numbers. (which RG3 broke)

Which btw, was Alex Smith's best season of his career.

Alex did that in his 7th season. (2011)

RG3 did it in his rookie campaign.

Why should RG3 be rookie of the year over Luck?

Because RG3 is gonna have a heck of a time surpassing & improving off those numbers in the future.

He will probably improve off of passing Yards(3200) & TD's(20), but at 66% click and only 5 INT's on the season?

That will be tough to repeat. Not to mention 7 rushing TD's & 800 yards rushing. Even his 8.1 yards --per pass completion will be tough to do again.

Do you think Luck can improve off of 23 TD's in the future?

Do you think Luck can throw less than 18 INT's in a season?

Do you think Luck can improve off of 54.1% completion rate in a season?

Do you think Luck can or will one day win his Division? (AFC South)

If you answer yes to these questions, then you should NOT be angry if RG3 wins ROTY.

Look, Luck had a good rookie season.

You guys made a good pick & have your guy.

Future looks bright for Washington, Indy & Seattle.

  7. If RG3 beats "America's team" Cowboys Sunday Night, RG3 is the winner of OROY.

You can take that to the bank.

20 TD's to only 5 picks currently  (very well could be padding those stats as well)

104.1+ QB rating  (2nd behind only Aaron Rodgers in NFL)

Close to 800 yards rushing (NFL rookie record & passed Cam Newton record)

    6 Rushing TD's

Also has 8.3 yards per pass, which is #1 in NFL

Still hitting 66.4% at the moment. (which is 3rd in the NFL only behind P. Manning & A. Rodgers)

3,100 yards and will go up after Sunday Night.

Not to shabby, considering the Redskins are the #1 Rushing team in the NFL.

If RG3 wins the NFC BEAST by eliminating the Cowboys & giving the Redskins a 10-6 record? (Redskins haven't won the Division since 1999 (Bill Clinton/President)

He will not only be the ORTY, but will probably join Rodgers & Ryan for the 2012 NFC Pro Bowl squad as well.

What Luck & Wilson have done is very admirable. Taking their teams to the playoffs as WC's.

Excellent season and start of young career.

What RG3 has done, is unprecidented.

(also keep in mind...The defending SB champs are in same Division)

    "America's team" Cowboys

    and wannabe "Dream Team" Eagles.

Anyways...all 3 look to have great careers and should be fun to watch all 3 develop over the years.

  8. I think RG3 can win League MVP.

    (specially with those #'s)

If he plays hurt VS Browns and pulls out a victory...."Johnny Unitas" style

    Continues to play hurt while...

Getting the Redskins to the Playoffs by winning NFC East Division or getting team a WC....

Takes Redskins deep in Playoffs or miraculously, the SB....

Luck or Wilson just might get ROTY...

Because RG3 will be getting NFL League MVP OVER Manning, Peterson or Brady, imo.

    NFL loves a couragous story.

    my 2 cents...

  9. MVP should go to the "Most Valuable Player"

I guess you could give it to P. Manning or Adrian Peterson, as both are putting up great numbers.

But I believe both will be up for "Comeback player of the Year" imo & not win the MVP award.

Petersons injury and crazy return so early & Manning's whole season off from football and now this...

I think the MVP award will go too either Tom Brady, JJ Watt or possibly Rodgers. If Cutler wasn't disliked so much, he would or SHOULD be considered if they make a run in playoffs. But I doubt he is even considered because of that.

Charlie Batch winning knocks out Big Ben. Brees and Ryan 5 pick games knocks them out, imo.

That leaves rookie of the Year

    Who I believe are

    RG3

    Luck

    Wilson

Martin (both Martin & Morris are exactly tied in yardage)

    Morris

But since the QB class is so strong this year, I don't see how a RB can possibly win it this season, imo.

So that leaves RG3, Luck or Wilson for ROTY, imo.

I honestly believe it goes to whomever, makes it the furthest in the playoffs.

Specially since there will be cases for & against all 3.

And truthfully, I have no problem with that.

  10. This is a comment from this video.

    So good...

at this comment from this new RG3 video: lol

Rg3 is NOT A BEAST ...ARE YOU STUPID?? guy's a wuss...if he was a beast he would come to my house ...right ****ing now , and smash my face against the keybjfkdkla;ldkjfajfkkdjajjklf*jfjkdf;l;ljkafdditi[itio[[oiop*iopifdpoifiieioiogtjlk;jdlkfak*jkdakjdlkajkfj akjkdskj;laajlk;*jjdfjkalfjajfdkjdfjkfdkjdfakdd*fl kjfdflkjdjkjakfjdlkasjfjkdaj*kfjakjajfa

  11. Truth is...

Luck has shown some flashes of greatness, but has made some bad mistakes as well.

Greatness like in the Packers game, bad mistakes like the 2 pick 6's vs the Pats.

I also believe the Colts are 6-4 because they have benefitted from an easy schedule. Much easier schedule than the Redskins, imo.

RG3 has looked like he already has a bust in Canton. Has not made very many mistakes at all. Throwing a 104 QBR rating, has not yet thrown multi-pick games like most if not all rookies do & has shown up on the brightest stage. We'll see if he continues this VS the Giants.

Point is...Both QB's are going to be good and are on the correct teams for the future.

...And the Rams will be regretting their decision for a very long time, imo.

If Fischer doesn't have these guys competing in 2013 season & Bradford looks to not be progressing with the talent they will be able to put around him with all the draft picks they will be getting from Skins/others?, He may find himself on the hot seat earlier than expected from the success of RG3. specially if the Skins are competing in the NFC East. They actually have a shot this year.

The Colts got their man and made the right choice drafting Luck.

But why Colt fans are wishing P. Manning to do well, with the Broncos is crazy, imo.

I've seen some, wish him a SB win.

Why would Colts fans think this way...?

If he wins a SB with them, it not only makes everyone question the Colts decision in cutting him, but puts even MORE pressure on Luck, imo. I don't know...maybe this will be good for Luck, though?

If i were Colts fan, I'd be rooting for ANYONE to win the SB, except the Broncos.

If he were in another Conference? (NFC)

    I could see that.

Like the Niners or Arizona or so.

Then yea...root for Peyton all the way.

    But AFC?

    No way, man.

    Think about this...

The Broncos could be why Luck, doesn't make the SB.

No rookie has ever taken his team to the SB.

But hey...root for P. Manning if you want.

IMO, he's wearing enemy colors & should be respected as such.

  12. RG3 just won NFC Offensive player of the Month & Rookie of the Month.

    Robert Griffin III

Pepsi Rookie of the Week - x4, and should get his 5th this week.

NFC Offensive Rookie of the Month - x2

NFC Offensive Player of the Week - x2

  13. Both QB's have had the benefit of help in certain areas.

RG3 has had the help of a late rd rookie stud in Morris IE running game.

RG3 has a franchise LT and a Center in Montgomery who is looking very good.

Luck has a HOF wr that's been healthy all season as well as other young studs at both the WR and TE podsitions.

They have remained healthy for the most part, as well.

Luck is on a team that is just a season removed from having a yearly Playoff team and HOF QB. They have built a winning culture that has not known anything but success for over a decade.

Is Luck being ask to do more?

    Like reads and pass attempts,etc.

    That case can be argued....

But RG3 and Redskins can argue they are not only in a tougher Division, but a tougher Conference, as well as having a much tougher schedule.

    Fact is...

Both QB's look very good in their young careers.

Both teams made the correct choices for their team in building a winner.

Both teams have very bright futures.
