Is there a reason, why everytime Richardson hits the hole there is a defender waiting to meet him, when Brown seems to have larger running lanes. Â Is this a product of speed, play calling, or knowing which hole to go through?
-
Doesn't change the fact that I get to be publicly humiliated next summer by a Bengals fan due to betting on this game. Â
-
I hope you look good in black and orange...lol.
Yeh, Lets just say when Reggie went down, I started working out
-
I really hope we in.. I made a bet with a friend down in Cincy involving the loser wearing a team colored speedo to a public water park

I even sat through the absolute thrashing we took from New Orleans last year when Brees was throwing 62 points up on us and Shawn Payton was in the booth eating a hotdog.
Not today. I can't stomach watching the Pats crush us like this.
At least Pat McAfee can tackle.
That's all I got right now. I'm so bummed!!
We looked so great in the first quarter too!!!
This game you turned off, but you sat through all 16 games last year? hmm..

Who knows, he could be the next Tim Jennings

Good, now the way is paved for the return of Roy Hall!

Well, my issues with all of these are:
- We have NOTHING, NOTHING to show for those cuts. Get something for crying out loud, 4th or 5th or 6th rounders in return. Hopefully, they all arrive in the form of compensatory picks (crossing my fingers there).
- Cutting Manning was almost an easy out for those who were on the fence if they should restructure, IMO. Now, none of them are going to.
- Cap issues are overrated. In a relationship business, you try to keep player loyalty and relationships by biting the bullet a little bit to keep talent. Work the cap, dont run from it.
If I was Irsay I would have gotten all of our "aging" high salary cap vets in a room and told them the reason they were all there is because the future of this franchise and their ability to win superbowls in the next couple of years is entirely up to their decisions. I'd explain the cap issues and say in order for us to win now and draft good young talent we need people to restructure their contracts. I think with Manning leading the charge the others would follow and restructure.
Now, we dont have the vets for leadership, dont have additional draft picks to show for the cuts, and give me one good reason why free agents will come here to the Colts since we do not have enough draft picks to draft all our needs and HAVE TO resort to free agency. Yes, money, the same money that will get us back into the cap he-ll we cut our vets for, to get out of it. That is right. It is a vicious circle, the cap. Like I said, dont run from it, work it, and that is probably something Grigson will learn.
No, I am not panicking by any means but I definitely and firmly believe there were alternate ways to approach this.
I first agreed with you on not receiving any compensation for these players, but I am sure if they had any trade value, Grigson would have received interest from other teams.

I think you should be more mad at the fact that the Bengals got a 1st and 2nd round pick for a retired Carson Palmer and the Colts get a nice emotional press conference for a healthy Peyton

I wish they'd have some kind of special event where the #1 ranked college team faces off against the 32nd ranked NFL team. It would be a lot of fun to watch. Profits could be donated to the college's charity fund (or not).
If I were a college kid, I wouldn't even mind getting embarrassed to an NFL team because it's all in good fun, the score doesn't mean anything, and it's a great chance for the young college kids to meet some of the team's famous athletes. As a defender, lining up opposite of Peyton Manning would be so awesome (if he's healthy). It would be like the ultimate test. I'd be so hyped to play in the game, let alone watch it.
Problem is its a lose-lose for the NFL's worst team. Its like boxing a girl. If you win.. well its a girl, if you lose its just embarrassing.

They are not going to fire Jim in the middle of the season. Nobody on staff is capable of stepping up and doing anything with this team.
Also, not everything is Caldwell's fault this season. The front office for years neglected the defense and offensive line and built this team around one person. They built a defense that is predicated on having the lead to produce. Our offensive line has usually been cast offs or UDFA because of how well Manning can diagnose a defense and get the right pass protection. To me as much as everyone wants to blame Caldwell and wants his head on a platter most of the blame should be at the feet of the Polian's. With that said given the past success of Polian we all know who will fall on the sword first.
I don't think this defense can stop anyone with a lead or without. We have had the lead in several games this season and still blew it.

I am going to the game tomorrow, hopefully its not as bad in person.
-
HA! They also said we would win 2-4 games this year! Just proves they know nothing.

take all the coaches in the NFL that didn't take their teams to the SB in the last 2 years and you can make a case that Caldwell is greater than them.
actions decide things. Yes you can make a case that Tomlin is a better coach based on what he has achieved, but there is no telling that he would be successful in our organization.
I take Caldwell. I can see him being back in SB and winning it in the next 4-5 years.
I hope you are right.
-
Caldwell took us to a SB. If we had Tomlin there is no guarantee he would do that for us.
No point to downgrade a great coach like Caldwell.
I guess great coach is relative. Compared to me.. Caldwell is a great coach.
-
Are you are talking about Caldwell as the wrong disciple?
Didn't Caldwell take us to a Super Bowl? How many teams can say that about their coach?
You honestly wouldn't trade Caldwell for Tomlin?
-
I love Tomlin.. We got the wrong disciple.
-
I am not sure about this Jacob Lacy you speak of, but I will sign a petition to not see anymore of J-Lo and her dancing on a Fiat.

I think his tweets are an embarasment to the organization. Your the owner act like one and not some kid with a new toy. If you want to make a statement call in the press and do it. Show some respect for your position.
If you want to shakeup things get rid of Caldwell and bring in Jeff Fisher and let him run the show. The entire show.
I agree with you his tweets are a little childish.. but if you really want to see an embarrassment to his organization.. Come down here to Cincy.

I dont really think thats fair. Last I saw, it wasn't Basket that let Brees throw 1200 completions that day or whatever it was.
-
Yeh I saw Foster didn't practice today and Clayton said he is doubtful.
-
Does anyone know what other responsibilities this position entails? I think 90% of people on this forum can look at a replay and decide if we should challenge or not. Why do they need a College HC?
-
So what happens if Collins lights it up, and we are undefeated? Do we have a controversy?

I remember my Dad taking me to games in the 80's when I would visit him. I have always been a fan since I only got to see him every other weekend.
