If Luck and Hasselbeck are inactive this weekend, do we bring up Alex Tanney or let Pat McAfee be backup?
-
Is Cherilus signed with anyone yet? Wow, that was horrible.
-
Please don't imply that the refs had anything to do with this. Most of the Patriots' balls were in the 10 PSI range.

this is my favorite
it was a witchhunt. somebody wanted to embarrass pats. somebody.
And so what if it was a witch hunt or a "sting" or whatever you guys want to call it? Had the Patriots played by the rules, none of this would have happened.
-
1) The Pats got caught deflating footballs
2) They have a guy on equipment staff who handles the footballs
3) The guy is called the "deflator"
Are you telling me based on these three facts that you actually buy that the guy was trying to lose weight and that was what the use of the word "deflation" was all about? Talk about a coincidence!

4-0 would be worse by far. A 4-0 start would prove that Brady is just a cog in Bellichick's wheel. An 0-4 start would reassure Pats' fans and some critics that Brady IS the Patriots and they cannot win without him.

Look I think BB knew. Kraft maybe not. He's an owner and doesn't have that kind of involvement with the team. The very few Owners who do and the ones that do are the ones who meddle and Kraft isn't that kind of owner no matter how much we dislike him.
Like I just said I think BB knew but just because I think that doesn't mean the report backs that up. It cleared him so that's what we have to go on even if we can sit here and go oh come on he knew.
That leaves Brady and the two lockerroom guys. They are the ones the report nailed. They will get the harshest pentalites which will probably include suspensions and I am sure the Pats will find away to have both lockerroom guys leave the team before the season starts.
I think the Pats organization will get a fine for not fully cooperating with the investsgstion and I think BB himself will be unpunished or maybe his punishment will be trying to figure out ways to win football games with Jimmy Garppolo at QB.
The Pats will turn this into us against the world like they did with spygate and you can believe they will have the Colts game circled on their calendar. They will of their best to show no mercy in that game. With that said hopefully their best isn't enough because if the Colts win that game that will be adding insult to injury to the Pats.
Matt Cassell won 11 with them so don't be too surprised if Garappolo could do the same. Just sayin..

Notable players missing from OTAs from looking at the pics:
1) Robert Mathis (still recovering from injury)
2) Dwayne Allen (training in Arizona)
3) Jerrell Freeman (Wants a new contract)
4) Adam Vinatieri
5) Pat McAfee
6) Matt Overton
7) Daniel Agongo
Who else is missing?

So you call going from 18-1 and a lucky catch away from football immortality to 11-5 and missing the playoffs "not missing a beat"? Ok....
And yes, BB was very lucky to get Brady in the 6th round. If not, he probably would have been fired long ago.
And what were the Pats' record the following year when Brady came back from his injury?
-
I think he'll give us a discount of sorts. He's gonna cash in big time but I'm sure his deal won't kill our cap like others around the league.
I really hope you're right.

Mike Chappell tweeted "With '14 carryover ($7.699 mill),'15 adjust ($1.443 mill), #colts '15 salary cap at $152,423,392 according to @nflpa http://bit.ly/1AwYST5 "

Please no RB in the 1st round. Get some O-Line help

Terrible as a Colts fan to say but..... Bill Bellichick

0 receptions today on 1 targeted pass. He didn't see much action at all either. As a matter of fact, I think I saw Moncrief out there more today. Has he declined that much or are he and Andrew just not on the same page?
-
It's weird having a defensive minded head coach and seeing how the Colts have the 3rd best total offense and 29th in total defense. I know it's still early in the season but still...
-
Because sometimes it works. We gave up a first down on a draw play on 3rd and 15 last week.
Sure, sometimes it works. But 90% of the time it doesn't. Odds are much better getting a first down passing as opposed to running on 3rd and 9

Carolina is kind of overrated in my opinion and Pittsburgh just came off two consecutive division games that are always tough in the AFC North. I don't think Pittsburgh is THAT good but they are certainly not a bad team IMO.
Plus they have Legarrate "Smokey" Blount who just pounded in another score.
-
Way too early to make that assertion yet Tor. Yes, Houston is playing some solid football right now & JJ Watt is both a defensive & offensive weapon, but anything can happen. It's only week 2 with 14 weeks to go.
Not only that, our 2 losses were outside of the AFC South. Don't drag out INDY's funeral bagpipes just quite yet.
I'm not doubting that the Colts could win the division. Fortunately we are not in the NFC West. I just had higher expectations for this team though. And without a pass rush and a consistent offensive line (along with a dismal coaching staff), I just don't know how the Colts can be seen as true contenders anymore.

Oh boy, this sucks.

not much. Honestly unless he's getting a steal in a trade I wouldn't give up much in terms of a draft pick. We need help with pass rush no doubt but players acquired in season tend to take time to make an impact and if a team is willing to give away a player it normally means he's flawed somehow. People here won't like hearing this but what try should have done is give Hughes one more year. Still I think just about everyone here would have dumped Hughes before Grigson did so it's hard to bash him too hard for that trade.
Maybe they should take a shot at Sam off the Cowboys practice squad. What can it hurt? Cost nothing to get him and he at least showed a high motor in the pre-season. He might not work in the 3-4 but if he doesn't you release him and say hey we gave him a fair shot.
I didn't even think of that. At this point, I say why the hell not?
-
You think other teams have a quality pass rusher they're willing to trade now?
Well, until a team realizes they have no chance to make it to the post-season they are not very likely to trade a quality pass rusher unless they get an extremely good deal in return. Then again, we may not even decide to attempt acquiring a pass rusher if we keep losing.
-
doesn't like to or does not no what to do??? I think it is the latter of the two. Guy is clueless
A guy who has only 2 years experience as an OC at the college level coming into the pros as an OC was never a good idea to begin with. I don't care if he worked with Andrew Luck in Stanford. That does not make him qualified to be OC at NFL level.
-
hes gotta find a willing trade partner who is willing to trade a good pass rusher first. Teams don't just give away good pass rushers.
Oh I know. But everybody's got a price. It's just what the hell can we afford to give other than draft picks?
-
But can you honestly say you feel we're gonna blow em out right now? I cant. I don't like calling it this close at all but I got a feeling that this is how its gonna play out. And probably in just about every game too.
I agree that it is going to be a close game. The optimistic side of me is hoping differently however. Losing by single scores to two of the top-tier teams in the league (one in which we could have won and the other we should have) should make us expect a big win over Jacksonville. But I'm with you. I can't help but think this team is too flawed to be taken seriously as true contenders. Hope I'm wrong though

How many millions does he make? I don't feel bad for him at all.
