    Week 1 impressions: Brissett

    I think after the first week he looks pretty good. If the run game stays strong all year I can see us really winning 9-10 games.

     

    With that being said I know teams will start to stack the box and start playing the run. Brissett will need to make them pay with his arm.

    Poor QB protection is something you just cannot afford when you build your team around an elite QB.  True, Grigson failed at fixing the OL, but I put just as much blame on Polian.  Reliable players on the OL were allowed to leave and old & young Polian never replaced them.  People seem to forget that at the end of his time here Manning had to learn how to take the snap and get rid of the ball quickly because the protection couldn't give him much time.  IMO, this led to having to run quick passes up the middle that got players like Collie decapitated on occasion.

     

    The OL was neglected for many seasons.  I never understood why Irsay put up with it for so long.

    Soo How Are You Guys Gonna Play The Next Madden With The Colts?

    The moment they bougI canht that license from the NFL they got lazy and unimagintive. They no longer had competiton from 2K so they did not have to put anything good out. Now you are just basically paying $60 for a roster update and that is it. Madden 2006 was an abomination and anyone who worked on that should be embarrassed. When the previous year version kicks its butt you know you made a terrible game.

    I could not imagine where we would be if this season they were coming out with Madden 2013 and 2K was coming out with NFL 2K13. Heck to me 2K5 is still the best football game I have played with Madden 2005 almost right up there.

    With all the other great games out there like Skyrim, Saints Row 3, and ME3 and future great games like Assassin Creed 3 who has time to waste playing a glorified roster update?

    you only pay for the roster update and its sad. 2k 05 had football right. just watch the game. the halftime show is amazing for a 2k game.

    Madden is junk and has been since the PS3 versions.. the last 2 years were downright unplayable. I miss the days of madden on the ps2 when it was a good game. The people who make Madden nowadays are so lost, they have people on the development team who are hired and fired every year. Gameplay sucks.

    All madden too hard, the level below it way too easy, and everything about the gameplay is garbage. It isn't real football at all.

    I agree, madden has suck so badly since being added to the xbox 360 and ps3 system. There are some plays that are unstoppable. and teams like the radiers are unbeatable with those wr with 95+ speed.

    The fact is that Luck and RG3 ARE available so the question don't really matter. Why even ask the question? The situation has presented itself so you take advantage of it and draft Luck. I don't see the point in all the "what ifs" that are constantly thrown around. Who cares about the "what ifs" and just concentrate on the reality of the situation.

    I must say I can't agree anymore. You have to look at what's happening now

    A 3-4 Defence Might Just Could Happen Next Season

    I actually could see us closer to being able to switch to a 3-4 defense than people may think. First, we would obviously have to bring in a 3-4 creative minded defensive coach. Then we would have to go out and get a NT either in FA like Paul Soliai, or we would have to draft a guy like Dontari Poe or Josh Chapman.

    After that, I think we could move Mathis to OLB and keep him over Freeney since I see Mathis having an easier transition to OLB since he is not quite as big. I still dont think 270 pound guys should play OLB and Freeney is that. So we could either see what we could get in a trade for Freeney after redoing his contract, or just cut him and save a ton of money being able to go out and get other talent.

    Then our defense would look something like this in a 3-4...

    NT- Dontari Poe, Josh Chapman, or Paul Soliai

    DE- Jamaal Anderson, Drake Nevis, or another drafted guy or FA

    OLBs- Robert Mathis, Jerry Hughes, Philip Wheeler(All pass rushing guys and all are athletic enough to cover adequetely.)

    MLBs- Pat Angerer, Kavell Conner or Drafted guy or FA

    CBs- Powers, Rookie

    FS- Bethea

    SS- Rookie

    I agree,

    Mathis should get the franches tag and freeney should go. Let's face it, we can't keep them both. Wheeler and huges will come up big on the other side and we need to see what huges can do since we drafted him so high. It's his third year it's time.
