  1. In fairness to the pont about McAfee, McAfee himself said earlier this year on the radio that kicking the ball out of bounds is really hard and is something he is working on. So I think he himself is admiting that is an area he needs to improve on.

Still, if Polian wishes to bash someone for their in-game performance do it to Caldwell or the special teams instead

    • A caller asked Polian if Caldwell will be fired . Polian responded, 'My fervent hope is that Jim's job is not in jeopardy because my fervent hope is that we don't go 0-16, and we're doing everything we can to try and avoid that.'

    • Polian then said the coaches made the decision to bench Painter. For Polian, Painter's play was 'really pretty good' in his first four games

    • Polian said the Colts were planning to draft T.J. Yates in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. TheTexans took him earlier. Polian said that the Colts should have taken Yates earlier. Ironically, Houston drafted Yates in the 5th Round using the draft pick the Colts sent to the Washington Redskins in the trade for Ben Ijalana. Ijalana has bee out since Week Four with a knee injury

    • Polian: It makes me feel bad that good players and good coaches are suffering on the Colts because of decisions we made in the front office..

    • Polian said that if the Colts draft a QB in the first round next year, and that QB plays, the Colts 'will struggle.' ( like we arent now )

    • Drake Nevis might be 'keystone' to build defensive line around, said Polian.

      • As part of the 'what needs to improve,' Polian singled out punter Pat McAfee and said he must get better as a directional and strategic punter.

I just vomitted after reading this!

He's hoping for us to win one single game so that he won't look bad and his puppet won't be fired.

Did he really call out McAfee? Maybe he should get down on the sideline to watch games since he clearly can't get a clue of what happens on the field from his skybox.

  2. last week, Bill said that our defensive "plan", is to allow the other team to catch all the 5-10yard passes that they want (but not allow any 20+ yard catches)...he said that by allowing so many shorter passes, we will be putting that many extra tackles on the other teams players, and they will be worn down by the 4th quarter and be more prone to make mistakes! I can only assume that he was being serious...which is VERY scary!

By his own "plan", our guys would be more worn out than the other team's WRs anyhow lol what a joke!

with all that said, i'm sure that there will be some of his supporters on here telling us that we're wrong for ever doubting Bill, because we won games in the past :nutz:

problem is that in this process all our smurfs get injuried

  3. This is simply selfish. You keep him here another 2-3 years, you may barely make the playoff and keep the dreams alive, but this team will always find ways to exit quickly. Considering how good the Texans have been, these 2-3 years may be painful to watch since we may easily fall out of the playoff by losing to them. Don't think about the wildcard since Ravens and Jets always get them and they may have better records than the Texans.

I personally do not worry about Manning tearing us apart. Every starting QB has learned how to do this, including guys like Josh Freeman and Andy Dalton. It does not make things much worse to have Manning doing the same.

I wouldn't call it selfish to hope for the best for the team I support, and I honestly believe keeping Manning is the best solution. What do you suggest the colts tell Mannning "Hey lad, we're convinced you're good enough to compete, but we suck so bad that we need to cut you loose only to have an unprooven QB start instead - but feel free to win a few rings with some other team" what kind of message is that to send? From a business standpoint it doesn't add up - from a personnel standpoint maybe.

  4. Colts owe the man at least a couple of SB rings he well deserves. Think about it, he had his best 13 years here and we wasted how many opportunities? This year just answers why Peyton Manning always falls short: His team is winless without him. No wonder they always find ways to lose - defense melt down, pass protection broken apart, running game not being able to pick up 1 yard, special team give up half a field with 1min left...

You keep him here, he will end his career having only 1 ring and carrying the title "choke artist" at the age of 38. Don't be such selfish to keep him.

again my point stands :) If you want the colts to win you keep Manning - I for one don't wish to see him tear apart our sloppy tampa 2 defense for some other team!

  5. I think it would a fabulous landing spot for him and I'd love to see him there.

I'd really like to see him win a few championships and carrying this shell of a team is not going to get them for him

So, who are you rooting for?! Based on your comment you're a Manning fan and thus can't be called a COLTS fan. I'm a Manning fan too, but I won't root for him to win a SB ring for someone else than the colts!

On topic: I don't get all the trade Manning posts - he's most likely the best QB in NFL history every, why oh why would you ever trade someone like that if he's healthy?! If his healthy we keep him, if his too worn down with his neck issues he'll retire.

  6. Both he did some yelling and pumping of fists and even did some high fives. Someone must have slipped some cafine in his coffiee this morning.

then marijuana might be the only way to get some sort of emotion out of him - but on the other hand we lost anyway

  7. whats worse is that ever since week 1 Caldwell have told the media that we're inches away from winning and that we ONLY have minor adjustments to be made to be succesfull - since then we've only regressed in a BIG way and Caldwell + Polian keep on living in denial. THATS worse

  8. Don't give up on this game. I think Caldwell will make some adjustments and we will come up with a big win. Don't underestimate the genius of this man. It's not over yet!

it's all about the little things that needs adjustment right? we've heard that all season long and have zero wins to show for it.

  9. I'm just trying to figure out why his chemistry with Garcon is solid. Are they friends? Does the coaching staff go out of their way to get Garcon extra involved? Why do I get the feeling Wayne just lines up on the outside just as a distraction for Garcon?

From what I've heard about Wayne backing his man Painter up, then chemistry shouldn't be the issue - I think it comes down to bad QB play solely!

  10. We could get rid of Diem, and that would get rid of 4M dollars. Lacey doesn't have to stay. If we draft a CB, Powers and him would be the starter and we would have Thomas + Johnson as the backup with Ruker there too. He could go, but if he stay he brings good depth plus he's good in nickel coverages. Wheeler brings great depth, and the Colts linebackers have had injury problems lately, so he needs to stay. If the Colts don't get a new WR, I think they will be forced to keep Gonzo as a backup. David Gilreath is good, but Gonzo is a good backup. Saturday can stay for 1 or 2 more years, then he'll be forced to retire. Mathis has to stay as without him our pass rush would significantly decrease, and it would do badly. Garcon has to and will stay. Reggie should stay, as he's amazing with Manning, but it's a current topic up for debate.

pretty much my thoughts too, Lacey shouldn't be brought back, I would rather pay him to stay away!!

  11. I wonder if we might try to deal luck to Denver? They just released Orton. They have been very frank about Tebow not being the future, and Brady Quin is no good at all.

Elway has Stanford ties so I am sure that he has Scouted Luck thoroughly. Denver meats the characteristics that a trading partner should have. They will have a top ten pick. They don't have a lot of team needs other than QB so that they can trade draft picks.

could be; but if the colts decide to trade the 1 overall pick it shouldn't "just" be a top 10 pick put rather a guaranteed top 5 pick
