If Javon kinlaw is still on the board at 13 the Colts be wise to go back a few spots and still take him. The upside here is that there are quite a few very solid defensive tackles in this draft. I do not want to see a quarterback drafted in the first round unless it's the right one for the future, not a reach

Dumb.... if you love a player you never move back and hope he’s going to be there... you take him... there are 31 other teams that could jump you if you trade back...

i mean the Jags have like no money and a lot of players hate it there so not surprised he wants to leave and get paid and paid a lot.
P.S Colts should take a run at him or Arik Armstead two fast big guys on the edge

I don’t get why people on this board seem to be enamored with Armstead... He has 19.5 sacks in his career and 10.5 of them were this year and with studs around him.  Hard pass...

Im on the get a QB you can develop train. I truly believe that an offseason of work,  development and knowing he is the guy. Also competitor never hurt anyone. JB could be a top 15 QB. So I believe we draft a second rounder.

If I’m right then down the line you flip the young QB like the Patriots seem to always do for assists.  If I’m wrong, you are at least already developing a young QB you like.

I’ve seen enough of Jacoby.  He has no touch, misses wide open receivers, when they are wide open he over throws them and he hesitates and doesnt trust his gut and throw when he should.

I’m a huge Gordon fan myself. I’ve done numerous mocks and love getting him with 44. I am able to get some amazing talent at our first 2 picks. I also really still believe in Brissett. I did the Jordan Love mock because apparently that is what everyone wants. It’s gonna be a long 3 months. Lol.

I don’t believe in Brissett and I’m not in the Love train yet.  Watching some tape he looks similar to Mahomes in college but, I think you can get him in the second after picking up some talent.  I am on the we need a QB train though.... badly because Jacoby is turrible

Alot of people had him in the second round. They where very unsure of how he would transition going into a pro offense. He was a great talent but decision making was still questionable. Love him or hate him Andy Reid deserves a ton of credit A getting him drafted and B turning him into the insane player he is now.

I take back what I said... I just watched about 10 minutes of highlights of both him and Mahomes and they look very similar.  I hope Reich can do with him like Andy Reid did with Mahomes if we draft him.

Can't say I'm the biggest fan of this. I did like the sneaky signing of OT Daryl Williams though.

I think Hargrave is an okay NT, but I would not want to pay that much money for just an okay guy. I'd much rather go after a Arik Armstead, DJ Reader, or possibly even Chris Jones if he made it to free agency.

I'd rather have TE Austin Hooper over Henry at this point. Henry just has so many injury issues, and we don't need more of that on this team.

For the draft, I don't mind Jordan Love, just think we could get him a little later, perhaps around 22, just before NE and New Orleans pick.

Not a fan of taking a TE with the 34th overall pick, unless he turns out to be the next Kittle, which I highly doubt.

I’d stay far away from Armstead... he hasn’t done anything until this year.  He has 19 total sacks and 10 of them are this year.  That Dline is filled with talent to draw away from him.

Would you take Marcus Mariota on a cheap FA contract. He is a lot of talent. I live in Tennessee and have seen first hand that he regressed because in part constant coaching changes. He seem to fit the RPO that Reich loves.

    Thoughts.

Why is this even a topic!!! He’s worse than Jacoby!!!

JB is liked by a lot of folks here. Most of us do think JB will be the starter next year (there was even a poll where JB was seen as the starter considerably) and even if we draft a Round 1 QB, he will sit behind JB for the first year. Plus, upgrades at pass catching positions will only help JB. But beyond 2020, no one knows.

The consensus is, most QBs in the draft will have flaws. The question is, who has a ceiling combined with a strong work ethic to get better that you can invest in? Most of us just see football ability but the scouts and our GM will have the inside scoop on all these QB's work habits and work ethics, which will be a big factor, IMO, to decide who is worth taking the chance on.

We are no different than draft pundits, and someone's spaghetti is bound to stick on the wall for them to come back and gloat. :)

I respectfully disagree that better lass catchers will significantly help Jacoby.  I haven’t been on the board this year and I’ll quickly become known as a “Jacoby Hater” but he’s not good.  He’s scared to throw the ball and hesitates, he holds it to long, he misses wide open receivers all the time and when they are open he overthrows them...

Obviously, I’m in the “give Brissett another year” camp, which’ll lose most of you immediately.  But, here goes:

    Sign: S Jeff Heath, Cowboys

Re-Sign: Castonzo, Haeg, Jonathan Williams, Funchess, and all RFAs/ERFAs.

    Draft:

    1) Henry Ruggs, WR, Alabama

    2) Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma

    2) Alaric Jackson, OT, Iowa

    3) Jonah Jackson, OL, Ohio St.

    4) Anthony Gordon, QB, Washington St.

    5) Bryce Sterk, DE, Montana St.

    6) Jeremy Chinn, S, Southern Illinios

    6) Stephen Sullivan, TE, LSU

    7) Noah Igbinoghene, CB, Auburn

Strong possibility of trading down in the 2nd and getting the same players, but I hate to predict trades (though I sometimes do).

I’m all for Ruggs but, only if we draft a guy like Easen in the second.  Jacoby can’t throw the ball.  If we aren’t drafting a QB That can start day 1 a WR means nothing because Jacoby will miss him when he’s open or overthrow him when he’s open.  Take a stud DT or something because playing solid defense is how we’re gonna win games if Jacoby moves forward as our quarterback.

They did sign a WR that lead all WR's in 2018 in drops for 13mm (with incentives) which is the same as TY Hilton.  Got to believe that 13mm could have gone a long way to landing someone who will make a real difference.  This signing looks more unusual for CB, overspending on someone with no proven history, even if it is just one year.

It’s what the market on a one year receiver is.  Look at Moncrief last year and Jeffries the year before.  He had a lot of drops last year but look who he had throwing to him.  Cam has never been known for his accuracy.  He’s also never played across from a guy the caliber of TY.

We dk this every year and I don’t get it. We think we’re going to be big players and then get upset when we don’t sign big names.  I wanted Collins but not at 14 mil a year.  I wanted Mosley but not at 17 mil a year.  Ballard has a price on guys and won’t go over it.  The man has earned a little trust from us and for us to not get on the forums and b***h and complain about his FA signings.

I watched him every snap he was in he definitely made an impact in the pass game. Lewis and sheard forced two key incompletions , besides that Lewis was abusing their left tackle all game go rewatch the tape

Pretty sure they are on their third string LT.  I’m glad he got to play and he affected the game but I need to see him against top tier talent and not a third stringer before I make a judgement

  12. It happens quite often actually.  There’s always 4-6 team turnover in the playoff teams.  Sometimes a worst tk

first situation.  There’s a good chance we win somewhere between 4-8 games.  I like where the team is headed.  Another top pick could be majoring helpful.  Plus we have a massive amount of cap space.

What I know is we should have beaten Philly by 2 scores. Red zone execution is a problem. And run game non existent. I would like to see one of Ishmael or Fountain called up. I'm kind of iffy on Chester Rogers right now.

Fountain is raw but I think he’s got the stuff we’re looking for.  It’s terrible because Cain would be getting a lot of run right now if he hadn’t torn his ACL.

It's still early and this is a very young team...there will be some more downs bit also more ups....but so far the future looks very bright......Luck had a very pedestrian game and the Colts still controlled the game.

This is what gives me hope.  We have never been able to survive a bad game from Luck.  Today we did because the defense was good and running game was efficient.  I also want to draw attention to the growth of the defense.  Last week Mixon gashed us and today Peterson and Thompson couldn’t do anything.

  15. I’ve said from pretty much the first season that this team misuses Hilton on a regular basis.  Don’t get me wrong he’s a very good WR but we rarely line him up in the slot or in bunches to get him open.  If we did that he’s AB.

Its early to grade our rookies (even our sophomores) I think.

But regarding the scouting department - and Ballard -, my impression so far is that Ballard has a knack of finding the right players for the right spot. He impressed me last year very much. He brough in a bunch of "nobodies", and made them serviceable pieces. He feels what the coaching staff needs. He felt what Pagano's scheme needed (and he found the right guys even witch tight budget). And I think he feels even better what kind of players this new staff needs, because this scheme/playing style/types of players are much closer to what he believes in deep in his heart.

I would diasagree wish they statement he found what Pagano needed.  Maybe one or two players for the defense but, you look at his draft and he had this defensive switch in mind.  Cover 2 defense needs a rangey safety (hooker), pass rusher (Basham), bugger zone corners (Wilson).  Two of those guys didn’t play much because they didn’t fit the system.  And the one or two guys he found for paganos system were 1-2 year contracts that he could cut with minimal relief.  Both of his drafts on defense have been about this switch.

Early observations I see with the rookies is that they're definitely physical freaks. Not saying our guys were wimps prior, but the organization seems to be drafting like a team like Seattle did for a while a few years back. Big time measurables, even if the production in college wasn't there.

Outside of a few guys they were pretty much wimps... or they took on the persona of a coach, who on the football field as a coach was a wimp.

  18. I think there’s a good chance of him becoming the number 1 in this offense.  I’ve always said that TY is to small and to inconsistent to be your number 1 option.  However, we’ve seen this before, the WR training camp darling everyone talked about.  Several years ago it was Duron Carter, no longer in the league. Before that Hakeem Nicks had a good training camp and nothing. Chester Rogers had an amazing training camp going until he got hurt and then rarely saw the field even when healthy.  I just think it’s to early.
