  1. With the week off, it seems the FO has decided the team is fine and will use next man up, but I've been wrong before, Grigson has been  aggresive in the market since he has come in, so could be something interesting coming, but what since would it be to give the week off in that case.

This team has already battled more injuries then I can remember in a couple years, and keep trucking teams so I feel like we are fine.  Ugh, Here's to Reggie though.. Gonna miss him the rest of the year for sure  (so will a couple of my fantasy teams that have had a "colt" like injury year too lol)

  2. What if Peyton Manning becomes his biggest rival during the next few years? It's possible.

It already started, we'll start to see the Broncos like we use to see the Patriots because of how they schedule the teams that make the playoffs the previous season.   This was just the start of that rivalry, we'll see them again this year.

Luck/Manning I  was pretty cool, but Luck/Manning II will be for even more rewards.

Will the Jags still be in our division when they move out west?

  3. I'm still all for my original plan, but I think we can take this team in the playoffs in the cold Denver Altitude later on with that plan, so now I'm actually leaning towards a barn burning QB duel.

With all the hooplah over everything except the actual game, it'd be nice to have Luck come out and score and look magical and put the pressure on PM.

  4. Luck calls his own plays at times, what difference does it make as long as the team executes

Denver's OC calls the plays in to Peyton, but Peyton has the authority to change the play in any way that he wants.  Once the entire offense is on the same page with intimate knowledge of the entire playbook and system then I'm sure Luck will be given more leeway at the LOS.

Sums up the OP's question pretty good

  5. Not a shot at all, I think he has been fighting back to the Irsay comments, and this is how he truthfully feels about his and his teamates/coaches legacy they left.

He has been fighting back the last couple days and has been pressed.  I'm glad for the man, taking a final stand with that statement.  No shot, he was stating he is proud of the way they went about things, and what they accomplished.

Its a darn shame... The circus in 2 days has tried to tarnish a decade plus of dominance.

  6. Irsay looked and sounded defeated a lil while ago on espn, I need to add one to my list...

Time to start believing we can win.

Playing a team like this is a chance to test our limits, and see who is coming to play.  Win lose or get our Tails whipped, its time to figure out who we are as a team, so we can make it to the playoffs, and I have a feeling we will be seeing this team one more time this year.

  7. Good point about #4 Colts need to limit his time on the field and they will have more of a chance doing that on offense. I don't see our D forcing a bunch of 3 and outs.

The 3rd way just happens by chance, let Manning drive the field but then stopped on 3rd down, forcing a punt because the FG try is too long. Or on rare occasions you can let the opponent eat the clock for you but You better be able to score on almost every drive though.

The tide turner or mojo flop for the Broncos is all about that 2nd quarter score in the last 2 minutes and getting the ball back to start the 3rd.  If they lose the toss we have a chance there lol, if not We def need to eat clock in the first half and keep it close. Either way manipulate it so we end the first half with the ball, not the Broncos.

To beat Manning We all know and seen how, its always the teams that manage the clock and put points on the board.  Just because I'm saying manage the clock and eat up time doesn't mean field goals are going to be the answer.  We still need 17-21 points in the first half to stay up with this team.

  8. I heard no reference to any decision of being let go by one man, and I watched the whole interview live.  He did say he was fired and unemployed and was glad he has his new job.   But he refused to discuss anything about the comments.

  9. He kept saying that they are going into play a great team down some players and on the road.  translation...he is going to score a lot of points.

I also like the fact that he said he was going to miss a couple days of training camp to be at Canton for Marv's Hall of fame.

  10. Manning wouldn't comment on the comments, lol...   He was asked if playing the colts is like playing Eli, he responded.. "I know Robert Mathis hits harder then Eli"   class act, game on.   Hope the media turns their focus now.

I'm posting this in this thread because I figured it was pretty much the end all to TweeterGate2013.

of note, Manning did say he'd like to miss a couple days of training camp next year to be at Marvins Hall of Fame.

Luck said this earlier.   Another class act.   Time to move past IrsayGate or whatever it is and get back to the people on the field.

I think for us, it’s a football game,” Luck said. “Obviously, there’s some excitement around it, which is great for the game, great for the sport. But we’re preparing as an offense to go against a great defense. Our defense is preparing to go against a great offense, and what a challenge.”

  11. I don't think we have the oline to have the passing type game a lot of you all want.  OK maybe one here and there, but not sustained, and yeah I want to see Luck air it out too, but this game has got to be about balance.  Will it be, probably not...  This team is still finding its identity.

  12. Grigson is on a better pace so far. But doing it for several years in a row is a different story.

Yup, next year draft and FA should be all about the line.  Time to finally sure this thing up, but in his (Grigson) small stint so far love what he's been doing.  Finally a man not afraid to use all the tools available to him not just the draft.

  13. Ugh, I'm holding in my Polian comments...   oh so so so tempting....   Must stay classy...  must....

Hey he was a great guy, we'd come in score in 2 minutes, then he was so nice he built special teams that either let the other team return one for a td, or atleast get the ball at the 35-40  every time...   lol, I think he was just being nice.

  14. Oh I see Luck in the 4th airing it out.

I see Manning throwing 4 td's in this game.  He's gonna try and throw 8, but we hold him to 4  that's 28 points.  He scores the most in the 3 rd quarter coming out of the half, after he has seen everything you are about.   If we can keep him off the field in the third with long sustained drives, or like I said, one 9 minute drive that gets us points, I think that will put us in a good spot for the air it out portion of the game at the end of the third and the 4th quarters.

I say that then I remember the Marino/Manning  Favre/Manning games, so yeah never mind, they are going to air it out lol, but I still feel if you can eat clock that drives PM mad, especially in the third quarter.  Also I stand by my assertion that deferring to the second half is of utmost importance.

  15. 1.  Coin toss, defer to second half.  The broncos run up the score at the end of the 2nd quarter and have scored in their first drive of the 3rd quarter 6 out of 6 times.  no matter the score of the game, this is usually the flipping point.

    2.  Run the hell out of the ball in the first half, or use the passing game like the run.  Eat clock and try and keep it close.

    3. execute.  and don't drop the friggin ball.   nuff said.

    4. 3rd quarter is where Manning usually comes alive, keep him off the field.  one 9 minute drive would go along long way.

    5.  4th quarter its all you Luck.

    6. Do not let Trindon Holliday touch the ball.  I repeat, Do not let Holliday touch the ball!!!!!!

    7. Prayer never hurts.

Sounds easy enough,  lol.  Lucks arm strength is our strength, speed can beat the Broncos db's down the field.

Watch the pump fake on bubble screens!

any thoughts on where you see we have an edge?   tired of talking about what someone tweeted lol

  16. I don't think you'll hear a lot of boos (or any, for that matter).  But you will certainly hear a ton of noise when the Broncos have the ball on offense.

That's the big question to me, how loud, especially after a couple long drives where we are reminded of the offensive flow we use to know.  The broncos are already seeing a nice percentage of Manning jersey at away games, this isn't exactly an away game for the broncos.  I don't think we will have ever, or will ever again see what we are going to be privileged enough to watch Sunday night.

  17. I'm still sitting on the fence with Irsay's comments, the problem is no one else is..  Everyone is taking sides, and most are not on Irsay's side right now.     Ugh I knew he was going to do something like this lol, but that's why we love him.   So now we have the opposing coach a little fired up, the old GM, and the old coach who just so happens to be the analyst of the game.

This is not how I visioned this first meeting at all...   Irsay has of course rebutted stating he meant if he had put a better defense and special teams Manning and the colts would have had more.   The media is def trying to shape this one out, Manning and Luck should get to speak today, and with both those class acts on the mic, I have a feeling that focus will be changed to a different story, however espn loves to hang onto crap stories, the big problem is Polian and Dungy work with ESPN,

I could, and usaully do lol, but the past blames on Polian, but the buck stops at Irsay.   So many angles to go at with this game, and now everything is blown up.

Someone needs to ground Irsay off Twitter this week lol

Class acts speaking today and should shift focus of game....  you all remember this?
