Not sure if this has already been posted, but Joe Thomas apparently is hearing that Luck initially told the team back in March he was having these thoughts: https://twitter.com/joethomas73/status/1165629432515706881?s=21

"Run run run" ??? Adjusted for gameflow, the Colts were the pass heaviest teams in the NFL (click the link, read Andrew Luck paragraph). Even off basic stats, Andrew Luck had the third most pass attempts in the leage. I have no idea where you get the idea that we were a "Run run run" team last year.

PFF put out their All-Third Year team: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/01/15/2014-pff-all-third-year-team/ Luck, Allen, Hilton on there.

I agree that having Jones is obviously a huge plus to our defensive front... but did anyone watch him on CJ Anderson's 22 yard run? Left a bad taste in my mouth with how bad he got manhandled, opening up the huge cutback lane.

I thought Trent looked OK last night. Bradshaw looked OK too; I remember he and Shipley attempted to block the same blitzer on a play that resulted in a huge Luck sack. Also had a couple bad drops.

Bradshaw had 54 compared to Richardson's 29. Per Josh Wilson.

From @HolderStephen: New Colts safety Mike Adams says Pagano/Grigson told him he doesn't yet have starting job. But seems clear they expect him to compete for it

Grigson Interview from NFL Owners Meeting....
vitoaf27 replied to NewColtsFan's topic in Colts Football
That was a great interview! Thanks for pointing it out. Love listening to Grigs talk football. I would love to sit down and have a conversation with the man; I could honestly listen to him talk football for hours. -
I don't want to derail this thread at all, but I think a lot of the drafting woes in Polian's final years here were more to do with his son, Chris Polian, than him. That's just my opinion.

I don't know why there is this misconception out there that Thornton was bad. He was inconsistent, definitely, but overall I'd say he played pretty well given his circumstances. He was a 3rd round draft pick who wasn't expected to start right away but was thrust into the starting lineup week two. He showed flashes of being a pretty good lineman for us. I'm very content going into the season with Thomas and Thornton as our starting guards. I think that minimizes the importance of going out and getting a big name center as well, which is why I think the Colts are fine with starting Holmes or Cos

On top of what you mentioned, the Colts had a punt blocked and attempted a fake punt that was unsuccessful. I thought we had also blocked a punt, but according to Colts.com, we didn't. I thought our ST was a marked improvement this year compared to the Polian years. Only improvement I really hope for is from our kick return game. Too many times we took it out from 9 yards deep and got dropped before the 20 yard line (David Reed comes to mind). I think some of our returners after Reed were better at not doing this.

Both Holmes and Thorton missed most of training camp, if I remember right.
