  1. I believe what Johnson is trying to say is that he will gladly pay the fines if his players protest on the field. It is a way of the owner saying I understand your plight, I have your back. I respect that. How many others came out and said, " I have your back". Not many.

    I also agree with Sage.

  2. Just reported by Mort,

Will begin throwing next week upon his return to Indianapolis. If any pain is felt, there will be an immediate call for corrective surgery on bicep. The fact that it is even coming up, as others have mentioned for months, means it is a strong possibility.

Don't blame him for not wanting to go under the knife; it also explains why he upped and went to Europe for last ditch stand. Most respected medical professionals, Chao comes to mind, said he more than likely needed to get have the repair done months ago.

    We shall see.

  3. actually, black wr have more success because they're faster/more athletic. it's ok to say out loud...

I hope for your sake it was sarcasm ;).

For anyone who believes that, it is the most common lie in all of sports. African American WR's have no competitive advantage physically over white players... whatsoever. Yes, their muscle defintion is absolutely better depending on genetics, but the differences really stop near that (there are a few other minor differences). I don't really blame people because we're taught as a society to believe it, but it is all a mind game. Information taken from a study compiled for over 30+ years from Dr. Gary Sailes at IU, Doctorate in African American Studies.

  4. I don't drink.....

    But I will tomorrow.

You just got a shout out on Sports Center ;).

Sorry I haven't been on since this past Summer, and what a terrible way to come back. This is going to be a tough, yet bittersweet end to an era. We're rebuilding and starting a new era... we now have a little cash to maybe throw at a Mario Williams/ Marques Colston to make us all feel a bit better.

Sad to lose The Sherrif, our captain, a hero, but he's still our #18. Best wishes Peyton.

  5. Put a head set on a cheerleader and let her call plays,.,,

It almost cant mathematically get worse than this.. :slaphead:

"Is the yellow line on the field real? Oh, it is! Okay guys... go run for that! Score more than the other guys! Win, Win, Win!"

    Atleast it would be entertaining.

  6. It is very apparent that nobody that matters even cares. FOR GODS SAKE PLEASE FIRE EVERY COACH ON THIS STAFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THIS IS EMBARRASSING. If we are tanking it AGAIN just say so. That is a very bad team that just spanked us, and I dont wanna hear one fn word of defense. Just look at the stats NO EFFORT, NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the defense played inspired and fired up. Hard to not give up a constant 3rd down conversion when your corners are told to play 10 off and your MLB turns his back and runs like a centerfielder. Coaching.

  7. Ahh, written by the PHD I'm sure you are. But, hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Did I say something to offend you? Was not intentional. I'm nowhere near a PhD, but the graduation rates say it all. Just a fan of football players who take the, "Student Athlete", seriously. And yes, I've spent a large amount of time around it, so of course I'm allowed to atleast voice an opinion on a forum. Again, apologies for offending you.

  8. Ha @ this topic. Anyone with intelligence wouldn't go to an SEC school because they are more than a, "Fa-fa-fa-football playaaa", and can spell Cat. I'm not saying that they don't produce talent, but why do you think Andrew Luck has never had any talented receivers at Stanford? Have you heard some college football players speak in public? Spend less time having someone do your work and focus on your undergraduate speech and english intro classes.

  9. "They're stacking the right side of the box every (explitive) time Clyde, come on" would be what you were referring too. There was more said, followed by the glare of death. Basically, Peyton said thank god I'm smarter than you because I'd audible your* garbage calls... thankfully I'm the Head Coach.

  10. Not a chance. Reggie still is not a lock, he needs to finish his career on the same tear he has been on in order to make it eventually. Dwight is still on pace to be if not a 1st Ballot, soon after. Two men cannot lift a team from the depths of obscurity. Reggie cannot throw to himself and buy time with the line; we all see Reggie get open constantly. As for Dwight, when your three monster DT's haven't played in a few games, you constantly get chipped and doubled because Muir doesn't exactly strike the fear of god.

That being said... if they visibly "give up" this year, more so than last night, the rest of the way... then it tarnishes it yes.

  11. People are always wrong atleast once in their life; no one is perfect. Some of our forum members seem to think that.

As for Curtis and comments on, "We're 0-4 in those games; Curtis is 0-4"... Yes, so is Patty Mac, and Adam V., but they, they should take the burden also right? He has made some very bad throws and reads (there were a few today that should have went the otherway). However, he has done MORE than enough to win everygame. He did not tell Dallas or Pierre to fumble... leading to 14 points for the other team and the difference in the game. He also didn't tell the defense to stop playing the past three games that he has gotten us the lead. I'm fairly sure he was not the one calling for Lacey to remain the starter while he was getting abused on an every play basis.

Painter is doing well, beyond most of our expectations. He will continue to get better, he looks A LOT better than most #1 picks look in their first starts of their career. So, he's been in our system? That allows him to be familiar with our playbook which helps, I will not discredit that. However, this is his first ever chance to be a starter... and today, when he went into no-huddle, he carved up one of the best defenses in the league this year.

But hey, if you want to keep bashing him, it is your opinion. I'm sure he could not care less.

  12. How about we just bring back Dungy (which I don't think is as farfetched as some think... Eric is at Oregon now, he left to see his last high-school years), let go of Coyer... and take away Clyde's playcalling duties. I cannot sleep with the fact we threw on 3rd and inches. I don't care if it is just Delone vs 11. If you cannot pick up inches on 3rd, you should pack up and go home. If you cannot do it yet AGAIN on 4th, you should forfeit the season. That was inexcusable. The one credit I give him is the creative screens to Wayne/Garcon. Normally, this are horrid like last year and result in nothing. However, the blocking was very well executed so props to those calls. Also, the fake handoff, screen pass to addai that Addai dropped would have gone the distance. Good call.

Coyer... hmm... Can't think of a defining "play".

Caldwell: I tried so hard to root for you, but game after game I begin to lose faith.

    Coyer: Show me something...

Clyde: Stay consistent and grow some and Peyton will let you keep your job next year. You've got the intelligence, there is no doubt; use it and be aggressive. Stop saying, "Oh, we don't have these guys on the line..." Your excuses echo down to the team, who will make excuses.

  13. If Diem comes back and Reitz, Ijalana, and Castonzo are healthy (we wont be that lucky) we can release the lineman we signed for the game tonight and use that to bring back the other DT. That or we can always IR Peyton.

Couldn't agree more. We'll be fine in the DT department... most of the injuries seem to be rest related. However, I do not see Peyton coming back this year and nor should he UNLESS he can play the last few games and give us a reason to think he's got 3-4 years and use our high draft pick on someone else.

That said, he has a 1 year minimum full recovery time, our team will not make the playoffs, Peyton needs to rest this year. IR tomorrow would be grand.

  14. He played as well as we could have expected. Avoid injuries... you know, the six or seven we suffered in one game! (Anthony, Iljana, Foster, Nevis to name a few) + Diem + Moala didn't even suit up, can Caldwell/Coyer/Clyde to some extent (Seriously, it is 3rd and inches... RUN!). If you don't get it it... RUN AGAIN!

    Has my vote.

  15. Seriously? Mathis and Freeney didn't provide pressure? I respect all posts on here but you need your head checked after that one. They were nightmares all night, Mathis had a sack that was nearly a sack/fumble special and Freeney drew HOW many Holding/Facemask penalties?! Blame the coaching and horrid streak of injuries because with a healthy o-line and healthy dt's we continue to win that game and are looking at 1-3.

  16. Sweet story Jeff. I could also play Defensive End.

And Favre, HA! Come on out Favre... our o-line will break your hip, you'll need a month to learn our system, then when you're comfy and we are long out of the playoffs... Peyton will be back.

Favre wouldn't come to our situation if we gave him a golden toilet to sit on.

  17. Personally I'd be thrilled and I think it'd be hilarious. However...aren't they saying he's supposed to be graduating early? I thought I heard he was in place to graduate by the end of his JR year but I could be wrong.

Considering he nearly came out this year but was told BY Peyton to play another year. I'd say if he had the chance to take over for the one man who really helped make the biggest decision of his life to that point... he'd come out and not look back =). And you're right, he wanted his "degree + memories" as intstructed by his father and Peyton.

  18. I'd trade our #1st round if we played that horrible for another 1st and early second (or better offer depending on position) and then use those two picks plus our second round pick and get a WR, CB, then Kellen Moore in the 2nd round.

Assuming Manning makes a recovery (and "odds" are strongly in his favor) and he's healthy and ready to roll, it gives him three or four solid years to play. Why in the world would we pay luck an absurd amount of money to sit his WHOLE rookie deal behind Manning. Then when it is his time to play, guess what, he's proved NOTHING and needs to be paid... again. No one ever takes that into account even though they think about the amount paid + no playing time.

Grab Kellen; Accurate, Tough, Winner. Get a playmaking WR in the 1st, corner in late 1st/Early second, then nab Kellen with our own 2nd.

Or replace WR/CB combo with another O-line.

    Tis' my two cents.

  19. Reggie/Collie/Dallas can still get open on ANYONE, ANYONE in this league. No playmaker is going to give us more W's this year. Maybe in the future, but the problem now lies with QB. If Peyton was here, you know, throwing the football unlike someone else, they would all have great stats (just like last year!). Would he love a 6'4 receiver? Who wouldn't, they are the rarest breed because most that tall cannot run with elite speed or execute crisp routes (what Peyton needs).

Addai can get open... Pierre will abuse anyone, he got two straight holding calls on Haden yesterday before our offense went to the hole. He just needs to catch, which he is looking better with this year. We have one of the deepest squads in the league with a burner 1st round pick WR (Gonzo) as our #4 because he is always injured! That is depth if I've ever seen it. If Peyton were here, we'd have a Greatest Show on Turf.

However, that all being said, if he is 100% come draft day, I'd love a WR to start playing behind Reggie (Just like Reggie did ala Marvin)... or a monster G/DT/CB.
