Anyone going to this game? I'm looking for more Colts fans that live in the Phoenix area. I moved out here 6 years ago so this will be my second Colts game during that stretch and the first with Luck at QB.Â

Has anyone heard The Architect of Destruction used for Luck's nickname? I think it's catchy and I know we all talked about a nickname for 12 awhile back. Let me know what you think.

I personally feel that we don't need to sink that much money into two pass rushers. I think Mathis will flourish in his new 3-4 role so we should trade Freeney and bring in a vet guard asap with the CAP space. IMO

I think this trade will still get done. After the Mario Williams sweepstakes ends we'll have people knocking at our door for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. I just hope we ship him off to the nfc. Maybe the seahawks.

he is not going to fit into the offense of the future so why not get what you can while you can. trades have to benefit both sides so we get a first rounder this year and the other team gets a pass rushing end which fits their style.
it has to be the right style of defense for him. he is not a big defensive end by any stretch of the imagination.
I am excited to see the colts going to a more aggressive and larger defensive front.. it was rediculus the players we trotted out last year. then you have GM drafting Pat Angerer in the 2nd round when he could have been had in the 4th round. polian was no draft genius by any stretch to the imagination. look how many lineman were washouts and some where even high draft picks.
Angerer was "projected" as a 4th rounder that doesn't mean he would have been there if we waited. Also, I believe he was worth it and I bet a lot of other colts fans appreciated his effort last year.

I'd humbly suggest Angerer, but in the interest of full disclosure I should tell you I have bad luck with jerseys (as the Corey Simon and Freddy Keaiho jersey in my closet can attest to...)
Just wait for the new Nike line coming out in April and decide then

i dont think we will get a high draft pick for Freeney.....i like him also but remember Manning second year they traded Faulk for a fourth rounder.....alot of people were upset and we drafted James and that worked out well. I know we won't have a top 5 pick for a defensive guy but alot of good defensive players can be found in the 30's. i think were picking 33rd.
We pick 34 b/c we alternate every other round with the Rams. I think we can get an early second rounder for him. Seymour was worth a 1st round pick I'm not saying Freeney is worth that but someone might do it for a quick turn around game changer.

I personally like the move b/c we can't sink all of our money into two DEs. We have a lot of needs and I believe we can get a decent pick or a couple of picks to help rebuild our depleted team. I'm also not going to be shocked if we let Clark and Bracket go. I know Clark was special 3 years ago but he's been hurt a lot and he commands a lot of money. Same thing for Bracket. I like Angerer a lot along with Conner.

I bet we at least get a second rounder out of him and his salary for a new team can be used as a signing bonus for his last year with us. I think it's time to ship him b/c he's not worth the dollar amount along with clark and bracket. If peyton isn't safe no one is.

yes I cried also and I am a groan man of 60 . I wish the colts to do well in there endeavor to rebuild. Mr. Irsay gained some respect when he said he thought Peyton would have better chances elsewhere.That had to take a lot to say. I live in Arizona now and maybe the Cards can land a Manning here. God bless both men and hope the both do well.

I'll be honest I've shed a tear 3 times as a fan. Once when we came back to beat the pats to go to the super bowl and we won. Two when we lost the super bowl against the Saints. And today this by far was one of the hardest things I've had to watch in sports.

I really like freeney but this number against the cap is way to much especially since we are rebuilding and have several other issues. We can't wrap all our money up on two DE/OLB for this new defense. I hope he restructures and we work a few more contracts so we can be a factor in free agency. That's just my opinion though.

I was trying to find the link but i cant, it was based on the writers opinion but its common sense, Not everyone thinks Luck is the best QB in the draft
but they think he's the best qb prospect in the last 20 years hmmm

Yeah I personally want Manning back if he is healthy enough to play. I think Luck could learn a lot from him.

If you drive by the stadium once where there was a huge picture of Manning on the side of the building is now gone. It has been replaced by a Colts Logo. They also have Freeny still up. Is this a sign?

I like this hire a lot. Now I want some breaking news that Caldwell is gone and we are in the hunt for a new head coach. I'm also hopeful he can try to bring Spag to be our DC.

I haven't been that impressed with the Eagles draft record recently, but he's not the entire front office. Still, it's all I have to look at.
I am excited by his background as an offensive lineman, however. A solid offensive line is the key to any solid offense. I assume (perhaps wrongly) that he'd also have a solid knowledge of the defensive line as well, having played against them all throughout college and some practices in the NFL.
For those of you knocking their drafting are you forgetting Mccoy? D Jackson??? Maclin? Those are 3 of the top weapons in the whole NFL especially jackson and shady mccoy. Who here wouldn't love a RB and WR with those traits on the coach and let manning really have a shot to win another super bowl?
