  1. .......@ Mr Football. If your post was the funniest post some poor excuse has ever read, what does that say about that unfortunate soul.....other than he/she doesn't read too often.

I don't blame you for getting upset at that particular article. Your mistake was believing that you could share your thoughts without getting blindsided by someone in a desperate search for a life. You probably thought that surely a true Colts fan would understand where you were coming from. A lot of us did, and while people might disagree with your degree of displeasure, it's no cause to be ridiculed for saying how you felt.

  2. Definitely Tebow. I would keep Painter and use him to return kickoffs. He'd be instructed not to take a knee, run straight up the middle, and take it to the house. Of course, he might get blasted a time or 2, but I'm willing to take that chance.

  3. I HATE what Jim Caldwell has done to the Colts. The man is a "stepford" coach doing the bidding of a man in desperate need of a 12 step program. What I really hate is a person who continually posts defending this indefensible clown of a coach. He says things like, "Did Caldwell miss that tackle?, or, "Did Caldwell throw that interception?" I guess it never dawned on him that under his defense, NO coach should be fired because there are no coaches actually making the mistakes on the field, just the players.

When he constantly tells us how Caldwell got us to the Superbowl, or "coached" us to the playoffs last year, it's enough to make a person projectile vomit on their computer screen. You'd think that being "coached" to 0-10 and counting by Caldwell, this individual would go into hiding, or, possibly man-up and admit he's been completely wrong, but NO.....like a bad case of dandruff, he just keeps coming back with the same nonsense.........

  4. @LUVTHESHOE..........Since these are the same group of bozos that paid $4 million to Kerry Collins to come visit us this season, I can assure you that no one on the coaching staff will be fired tomorrow. I wouldn't be shocked to see someone like the assistant equipment manager get the hook, just to make it look like they're capable of making changes. Unfortunately, it appears that Caldwell and Polian (and the fruit of his loins) are joined at the hip and won't be leaving until at least this season is painfully over.

I'm asking you as a fellow suffering Colts' fan to please reconsider your decision to leave the forum if no coaches are fired tomorrow. I very much enjoy reading your posts, and I'm willing to bet that most of the other people on this forum feel the same way. I know EXACTLY how you felt when you posted it, but as a favor to all of us that enjoy insightful and witty posts, please hang with us until Irsay comes to his senses and cleans house.....................

  5. The thing about coach Caldwell is that you either really like him, or, you really dislike him. There's not much middle ground with him..............I'm really not a fan of his, but I'm more than willing to lay a lot of the blame for this season on polian. His (and son's) drafting ability as of late has been sub-par to be generous. Also, bringing in Kerry Collins proves to me that he's lost it............

  6. I agree with Cain Marko about not being surprised at all about our record. Once I knew Peyton was out, I knew it was lights out. Polian has been exposed. In utter desperation, he signs Kerry Collins. This is not the work of a genius. It's a good thing JaMarcus isn't answering his phone, or we might have had him....and I'm only half-joking about that. Peyton has carried this team for a decade. They literally should name the MVP trophy.....the Manning trophy, for the MVP of the league........

  7. I think another problem could be our conditioning. We have been in every game except the Texans, and we appear to run out of gas in the 4th quarter. To me it suggests that we could be in better shape. Nothing that some extra wind sprints couldn't cure..........

  8. I hope Peyton just heals until next season. Let's face it, this season is lost. If we get the #1 pick, select Luck and make a trade like San Diego did with the Giants. We'll still have a top pick and plenty of extra picks (and possibly players) to build with. We're going to get 5-7 more years of the best qb to play the game, along with a couple of Lombardi trophies to go with it. It's going to happen!!!!!!!!!!

  9. The only reason Tom (not that there's anything wrong with that) Brady threw for 50 td's and Peyton had 49 was that Peyton was pulled from several games without playing the 4th quarter because the game was already secured. In the Saints and Falcon's game (and I believe also Detroit), he had thrown 6 td's already before the 4th quarter and took a seat. In the last game of the regular season, he played only the 1st series before Sorgi took over. Peyton wasn't trying for individual stats. If he was, he probably could have thrown 55-60 that year.

In addition to that, he wasn't throwing jump balls to Randy Moss all season either. He had 3 receivers with over 1000 yards and 10 or more td's apiece. I'm doing this from memory so there's probably even more comparisons to show how great a year Peyton had. He also set the all-time record for highest qb rating.

Brady was playing full games and throwing td's in blowout wins. He didn't sit the final game as Peyton did. It was great to see Peyton's younger brother deny Brady and Bellicek (probably misspelled) not only an undefeated season, but a huge superbowl upset.

I think that Brady is an excellent qb, but there's no way he's been Peyton's equal. Not even close!!! When Brady was hurt ingame one a few years ago, jis team finished 11-5. Without Peyton, we're 0-6 and probably won't win 3 games. We could possibly run the table (0-16) if Jacksonville doesn't cooperate (and you can bet that they've penciled us in as 2 wins for themselves).

We've been so fortunate to have witnessed the greatest qb of all time play for our team. I don't think we knew just how bad we'd be without him. Unfortunately, now we know. I can't wait to see him play again next year, and hopefully for another 5-7 years......Go COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. If nothing else, this should show everyone that Peyton has been the MVP of the league for the last 10 years. When he comes back, it's back to double-digit wins again. While our coaching staff is obviously not a top-tier unit, our front office bears a lot of blame as well. Poor drafting and the lack of pursuing free-agents to upgrade our secondary have been costly.

  11. Let's see. Elite team with best qb to play the position is handed to Caldwell. Team is 14-2 in regular season. Gets to superbowl and is thoroughly outcoached by Sean Payton. Better team loses superbowl denying Peyton his 2nd ring and the haters rejoice.

Second season, Colts slip to 10-6, barely make playoffs and are eliminated by the Jets in a game we had won. Caldwell's ridiculous timeout helps move Jets into vastly superior field goal position and they kick a chip shot to win game. Caldwell maintains blank stare. He's as puzzled as anyone as to why he's actually the coach of the Colts. He doesn't realize that Polian and son are afraid to bring in a professional staff that may want to share power and decision making. Caldwell still raises hand before asking the Polians a question. He is no threat whatsoever to them.

Season 3, Peyton is lost due to surgery. Now is the time for some real coaching. Unfortunately, we still have Caldwell. Colts start out 0-4. Caldwell defenders point out that he took us to superbowl. They snap at anyone who points out that the clueless imposter is in over his head. They attempt to ridicule anyone who mentions that Caldwell's only other head coaching position involved setting Wake Forest's football program back a decade.

Defenders point out that we didn't get blown out by the Steelers. They neglect to mention these same Steelers were blown out by the Ravens. This was not your father's Steelers team...........but, hey, we might edge KC? Don't bet the farm. Caldwell still hasn't had his ability to call pathetic timeouts pulled yet. And if we get outcoached again, so what? We'll have Peyton back next year. Let's not rush and dump Caldwell. After all, he knows the system................

  12. It never ceases to amaze me that there are Caldwell defenders using the same old...."But he took us to the superbowl...or......

he coached us to the playoffs last year with all those injuries." First of all, he didn't take us to the superbowl. Peyton took us to the superbowl. I agree that Caldwell was there, blank stare and all. You'd have to search the globe to find someone other than a Caldwell boot-licker who wouldn't agree that he was completely outcoached and responsible for a superior team losing that game.

Jim Harbaugh has the 49ers at 3-1 with considerably less talent than the Colts have. That's what a good coach means to a team. Of course, he was a proven winner in college unlike our annointed one was at Wake Forest.

We're 0-4 and will be lucky to win 3 games. We have the worst coach in the NFL. He did nothing to earn the job...other than Dungy "grooming" him for the position. The Caldwell experiment has failed....miserably!!!!!!!!

  13. One other thing about this coaching staff. Tom Moore and Howard Mudd both "retired" from the Colts and then "un-retired" to join other teams (Moore with the Jets and Mudd with the Eagles). Do you think that working with "coach" Caldwell had something to do with their decisions? For some reason they weren't considered for the head coaching position even though they had a much longer tenure with the organization........or, maybe they weren't comfortable working for someone who has no business standing on the Colts sidelines?
