You keep saying thanks to his Defense he won 2 SB's. So I guess that doesn't apply to Tom Brady at all when he only threw for 145 Yards against the Rams and 1 TD. It was his Defense that shut down Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk wasn't it? How about the INT at the end of the Seattle SB win, without that the Pats lose if Seattle just runs the ball. I guess Big Ben doesn't deserve his SB win in SB 40 either considering he stunk up the joint? Just asking? 2015 counts whether anyone likes it or not and it's big legacy wise to say you won multiple SB's. Also Peyton played well in the SB vs the Bears who had a Great Defense. He threw for 247 Yards and had a 60 Yard TD pass to Wayne in a rainy soaked game, only had 1 early pick. He was Great against the Pats leading up to that game with tremendous pressure on him to get it done. In 2015 he played a Good game vs the Pats in the Title Game as well.

-During Brady's whole Playoff run in 2001, he threw for only 572 Yards and only had 1 TD with 1 INT, so by your logic his SB win shouldn't count as he had very little to do with the Pats winning in 2001. Also Vinatieri won the SB for them with a 48 Yard FG to boot. Guess what, they all count for QB's as long as they start the game. Even if it's the Defense that carries a QB at times, that QB still has to find away to not mess it up. Peyton didn't make any critical error's while Cam the League MVP did.

Name some Bradys HoF players that he played on defense with? I’ll wait.

Bradys first 2 rings were won as a game managing QB (I ll agree with that) but Manning has never won a SB because of his capability.

    and thats a fact.

  2. 1. Manning had the best offensive weapons of any QB in NFL history throughout his career

Players Manning played with: Marshall Faulk, Edgerrin James, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Julius Thomas, Wes Welker,

Players Brady played with: Randy Moss (1 year and broke every QB-WR record at the time), Gronk, Wes Welker, Julian Edelman (QB turned WR:huh:)

    2. Forget super bowls, lets look at playoff wins

    1.Tom Brady - 22-9

    2.Joe Montana - 16-7

    5. Peyton Manning - 12-11

3.Peyton Manning has 9, "1-and-done" playoff appearances. Tom Brady has been to 9 AFC Championship games

Tom Brady  in 07' had by far the best passing offense of the last 22 years

Matt Cassel the next year the 272nd ranked passing offense of the last 22 years

Please tell me more about how Brady is strictly a system QB?

Brady has played 92% of his games outdoors (185 of 202)

Manning has played 49% of his games outdoors (122 of 248)

    Brady in a dome: 67.4%, 8.64 YPA, 6.9% TD, 2.62% INT, 106.42 rating

    Manning in a dome: 66.16%, 7.8 YPA, 6.1% TD, 2.4% INT, 99.72 rating

    Brady outdoors: 63.15%, 7.35 YPA, 5.39% TD, 1.93% INT, 95.28 rating

    Manning outdoors: 64.97%, 7.62 YPA, 5.66% TD, 2.63% INT, 95.83 rating

Also, people fail to mention Peyton had Tony Dungy and IND had one of the best defenses in the league for a few years in the mid 2000s.

In the 52 seasons of the SB era only 4 QB's have won more SB's than Peyton that have started the game. Brady -5, Montana -4, Bradshaw -4, and Aikman -3. You can only make a case for Brady and Montana being better all-time. Brady because he has won at least 2 League MVP's, same for Montana who won 2. Both of those players also have had great Stats as well. Brady's stats are very comparable to Peyton's and in an era where the QB's could get hit more and it wasn't a passing league, Montana still threw for 40,551 Yards and had 273 TD's. Bradshaw nor Aikman had the Stats or League MVP's to even be in this convo. Bradshaw Stats = 212 TD's/210 INT's with 27,989 Yards, 1 League MVP. Aikman Stats = 165 TD's/141 INT's with 32,942 Yards, 0 League MVP's. Peyton won a SB with 2 different teams and has 5 League MVP's + threw for 71,940 Yards and 539 TD's. Regarding the other QB's that have won 2 SB's, none of them compare to Peyton statistically so he was better than all of them when factoring everything in. He won just as much as those others and his Stats blow theirs away. So does his League MVP's. League MVP is the 2nd best award you can win, only winning the SB means more.

-At worse Peyton has to be regarded as the 3rd best QB of the SB era and I don't see how that can be debated. Only a hater wouldn't put him 3rd IMO.

Without those 2 SBs (Thanks to the defense) Manning would of fell in the same catg as Brett Favre.

  4. Peyton Manning has never carried a team to win the superbowl.  In 2006, Colts defense in the playoff gave up 16.2pts/game which is better than 3 of the 4 playoff defense Brady had during his superbowl year.  On offense, Manning threw 3tds to 7ints for the whole playoff (4games total).  That Colts team won the superbowl in spite of Manning terrible performance with Manning almost costing them.

In 2015, Denver defense in the playoff gave up 14.6pts/game which is better than all 4 of Brady's playoff defense that won the superbowl.  Manning on offense got 2 tds to 1ints for the whole playoff (3games total).  Again Manning basically did nothing on offense to help that team in the playoff.

    The Patriots defense in the playoff in 2001 gave up 15.7pts/game, 19pts/game in 2003, 17 pts/game in 2004, and 20.7 pts/game in 2015.

    On offense during playoff, Brady threw 1td - 1int in 2001, 5tds - 2ints in 2003, 5tds - 0ints in 2004, and 10tds - 4ints in 2015.  (3games total each year)

Don't feed the troll who kept thinking Josh McDaniels was his head coach despite all reports to the contrary. :)

By any means go ahead and engage into the argument and lose.

Heres another fact: Manning has had better players throughout his career than Brady ever did too.

  6. Colts fans are delusional when they try to compare Manning to Brady.

fact: Manning was a great seasonal QB of all time. But he was always a choker in the playoffs. He has never won a SB because of his play, even that 2006 Colts team had a great defense in the playoffs. They had a bad regular season defensivly but they picked up their play in the playoffs.

brady will always be the better QB and it isnt even close.

That reason was a marketing one for season ticket sales during the upcoming relocation.

    Gruden = $$$

He is the cannon ball of splash hires.

Bullcrap. Gruden is a very good coach thats why they signed him, had nothing to do with $$$$$

Del Rio got fired because hes a mediocre coach like Mularkey. Great for culture change but thats their ceiling. Period.

What does that even mean? You don't think there can be good people on a staff lead by a fired coach? Or good players on a losing team? This makes no sense.

Jake Paatz was a QB coach in Oakland. The same coach that coached Derek Carr to one of his worst years in his pro career. Pass.

Here's an interesting tidbit I stumbled upon. It seems like Jake Peetz is highly regarded in NFL circles as an offensive mind. Greg Cosell was on radio in Tennessee and they talked about potential coaching candidates for the TItans. After they went through all the names that are being thrown around their coaching job, the host asked Cosell if there is some name that nobody is talking about but is highly regarded and might be good offensive coach to pair up with Mariota. He thought for a while and he said Jake Peetz from Oakland is a name of a young coach who is probably not ready to be a head coach, but he can be a guy to be on a staff as a QB specialist(the question starts at 23:50):

I dont want to have anything to do with the coaching staff of Del Rio. He got fired for a reason.

I did wonder when the Titans' GM had a chance to meet McDaniels, how he can say with a straight face that he will let McDaniels have the coaches he wants when he just let go Mularkey for not getting the coaches that the Titans' GM wanted. I always felt that would be a hard sell. McDaniels had been picky for years deliberating the right move, so he was not going to suddenly be whimsical and jump on the Titans' vacancy that happened in a matter of days/hours.

Only time will tell if that is the right move for the Titans.

Its really not hard to convice any coach about the decision to let Mularkey go.. especially the offensive minded ones anyway... his scheme was old as dirt as it has surpassed him. His scheme doesnt cater to QBs strength and anyone that seen any Titans games this year would see that, even every announcers that broadcasted our games were able to see the flaw in the scheme.

  11. I wouldn’t be too suprised if the Titans scoop McDaniels. He has ties with our general manager in New England - dunno how much it would play a factor but he has better talent to work here in Tennessee then Indianapolis. Will see, you guys probably offere him a whole lot of money and were 2 steps ahead of us in the process. Good luck!

I have been reading other teams message boards during the coaching search. While on the Titans board I noticed when they talked about their coaching opening one of the things many of their fans think is a big positive for their team is having Mariota as QB.

I understand fans are going to support their QB, but many of their fans seem to think he is an elite top tier QB. Admittedly I don't watch many Titans games unless they are playing us (and the playoff games). I see a decent young QB who has some upside if he stays healthy, but definitely not seeing anything elite/top tier or even "very good tier" for that matter.

Am I missing something or is it "Titans colored glasses"?

-- Figured I would throw the question in this thread instead of starting a new one for this.

Real Titan fan here (no biased here) all though my name would suggest otherwise. Haha!

    - Mariota came in the league as a raw prospect because of simply playing in a spread formation in Oregon..... you could argue alot of QBs like Brees, Cam, Rivers came from the spread and thats true.... but the Oregon spread was much much easier for any QB to command... the guy really never had to play under center.....having said that in his rookie year he wasnt bad - he was solid considering the fact that he was playing with the worst oline in the league, no run game, and no WRs - his only threat was Walker.... he finished the season around 19 TDs & 12 InT I believe... not too shabby... when you compare Wentz rookie year and how awful he was. His second year was impressive (ofcourse with a better roster) he finished the season with 27 TDs & 9 InTs around 3,700 yards without a legit WR1 - one of the most effiecent and highest QBR in the league. And no TOs in the RZ.

Having said that.. this year has been his worst year of them all.... alot of had to do with the injuries he has suffered and alot had to do with the scheme he was here under Mularkey. Mularkey scheme wasnt design to no means to help him develop as a QB. Wich is the reason why he was canned.

Mariota has alot of upside, he will never big a guy that slings it down the field like Luck & guys like Big Ben... but he has accuracy and his decision making isnt lacking a bit. The guy is a real pressive intermediate passer. (Something the schemes jn todays in turning out to be)

but having said that.. Mariota is still only 24 years old and he has ways to go but the future is bright if he could stay healthy.. thats the only issue with him.

BigBen seemed emotionless in his post-game presser...almost like someone told him "You are the franchise QB, the veteran team leader, and our highest-paid player, therefore, it is your responsibility to go sit in front of the media and take full responsibilty for the loss."

It certainly didn't feel like a "heartfelt" presser given what had just transpired and Ben's supposed "love for the game"?  You tell me?.....

    This guy needs to retire.

I hate the Steelers as much as the next guy, but what is wrong with this interview?
