I know this is the nfl general section, but this should never show up on a Colts message board as a discussion! Bad enough we have to listen  to tools all over sports media, the last thing is wanting to hear our fans saying the same things. Peyton put this organization on the map, and who knows what his accomplishments could have been if the Colts would have ever put the supporting cast around him as the pats have Brady. Without that cast he did remarkable things. Call me a homer and I don't care! Brady is great but will never let go of the fact the pats were able to go 14-6 without him and the one time we lose Peyton, 2-14 and drafting first, enough said!!

The salary cap is the same for every team.  The facts are, Colts always have major flaws.  And we often have had bigger names than New England.  It's a question of management.  Think about what is the one constant for all these years of futility.  When you figure out who that is, you'll know who to blame.

They've made 7 SBs in 16 years with Brady starting. They're about to win their 5th and in this era of football, that is pretty damn impressive. And just because all those other dynasties blew out their competition, that doesn't mean they were better. A team has to be mentally tough to win close games. Frankly, those are probably more impressive than blowouts

Back in those days, there were few competitive Super Bowls.  In fact, the Super Bowl had a reputation for being a lousy football game for a good stretch.

Michael Irvin....don't listen to anything he says.  This would absolutely not be the greatest dynasty of all time.  I read a comment the other day that said the Pats haven't blown anyone out in their Super Bowls.  In that sense, they haven't been as dominant as other dynasties (49ers stomped the Dolphins and Broncos, Cowboys nearly beat every team in a blowout in their Super Bowl wins).  That's not to say the Pats are a bad team or a bad organization.  They're very well-run.  But I wouldn't put them as the greatest dynasty of all-time because they could easily be 0-6 (or 6-0) in Super Bowls.

Right.  If they were 0-6 that would mean they haven't maintained an elite level of play year after year.

What about next season? What will be the difference, more history? What will change? If the Pats win this season who is to say that wont do it again next season? I don't see them falling off. I really don't think it's bitterness for most people, it's we are tired of seeing the same team win every season.

    Brady will be 40.

He is among the top 5.

Brady, Rodgers, and Ryan are the only three I see that people could say are better. Derek Carr is close but has two great wideouts, a top 5 offensive line, and a stout defense. I expect Luck to go off next year.

That's open for debate. Wilson, Newton, Flacco.  Eli Manning. Drew Brees.  Plus the three that you named.  He tends to hold the ball and he sometimes makes bad decisions.  Both of those need to stop before he's clearly elite/top 5.

With an 8 - 8 Head Coach do you really believe he can get the team to the playoffs?

Regardless of the GM sins Pagano has had the best QB in the league and the best he can do is 8 & 8!!  He should be shown the door like all the others he has fired!

I think before you call Luck "the best QB in the league" he should actually BE among the top 5.

I'm not saying I WANT Toub, either... just saying that I wouldn't dismiss him because of being a ST coach.

I think Gruden's offense would make Luck really shine... I think my top choice would be Jim Harbaugh because of what he's done in the NFL and also the fact that he knows Luck so well... i'd also rather have a big fish/big name proven coach, but there just aren't many out there looking for a job.

    This.

I just saw this and was literally about to post it myself haha

A disappointing year but still lots of great moments. Probably would have liked to see the Doyle game winning TD vs JAX week 17, or Mathis' strip sack in the final game of his career.

    Still a good vid tho.

That's the great part of NFL football.  The game is exciting and entertaining, the players are great, and many memorable moments happen to ALL teams, regardless of Win/Loss record!
