  1. I think one thing that will help us is that Luck has some legs to run. Not that he needs to run a ton, I think this might buy him some time to maybe get outside the pocket and hit our WR's. That is something we really never had w/ Peyton. Peyton runs like a drunken down syndrome kid. At least if Luck gets outside the pocket and runs maybe once or twice a game it should at least keep the opponents D honest. I don't care what Andrew's stats are as long as we are winning games or he's not the cause of a bunch of turnovers that take us out of games.

  2. Although we went 2-14 last year, we had the chance to win several games last year. We had terrible play from the most important position on the field. Even though he is a below average QB, I think we would have been close to .500 if we would have had Rex Grossman as our starting QB. The Redskins would not have come close to winning 5 games with the QB's we had.

Of players that gave us any production last year, we lost Saturday, Garçon, and Tamme. I think overall we are better at OL than last year, better at TE, and probably a push at WR. We have improved our DL and safety, all other positions are about the same.

What have the Redskins done other than adding RG3? They added Garçon and released Gafney, so imo I don't see their WR's being any better than last year. They didn't have a very good draft after RG3.

nor will they in future years after trading away all those picks to get him

  3. From Yahoo

Andrew Luck is joining the Indianapolis Colts as the new face of the franchise. Luck is coming to a team that had the worst record in the NFL in 2011. Peyton Manning is gone and this is now Andrew Luck's team. The top two picks in the draft are clearly Luck and Robert Griffin III and the two have been compared throughout the whole process. Many think that Griffin is walking in to a better situation and said throughout the draft that Luck is joining a very poor team. I think Indianapolis has done a lot to improve the roster and is already much better than many think.

  4. Those smal fast WR's can stretch the field in a hurry opening up the thows underneath. Don't know why people think you need 6'5" WR's to be successful. I think we will be fine with what we have. If Luck puts in the time with the WR's like Peyton, then he will make those WR's look good just like Peyton did. Don't know why people get butthurt about small WR's.

  5. I think it was a great draft. I think people arent giving our D a chance. Last season when the O couldnt stay on the field and score anything it made the D look bad. Gone are the days of that tampa 2 D. I for one think that we gave Luck the best chance to succeed early on.

  6. I look at who we drafted and see we did really well. We weren't going to fill every need. I hope we got some undrafted FA's that are going to do good for us. It's still early there are still FA's out there, more guys to be released, I'm sure we are not done making some acquisitions.

  7. Chapman certainly would be higher on everybody's list, but he had surgery on Jan. 17 to repair a torn ACL. The injury actually occurred in an Oct. 1 game against Florida. But he played through the season before getting the surgery. Ironically, the importance and ability of this stout nose tackle was perhaps most dramatically demonstrated in Alabama's Nov. 19 game, the only one he sat out, when Georgia Southern took advantage of his absence and rushed for 302 yards. Although Chapman did seem less than 100 percent during most of the 2011 season, scouts took special note that he played injured. Previously, one of the questions about him was whether he had the dedication to be the best he

could be. And when he is healthy, his best is impressive. Chapman is a short, stout, strongman who is especially good against the run. He plays with a powerful base and uses his strong arms and hands to discard blockers.

Pass rush: Possesses at least average burst off the snap, but lacks the lateral agility and closing speed to be a consistent pass rush threat at the NFL level. Uses his excellent weight room strength to shove his opponent upfield and can disengage with quick hands and a reasonably effective swim move (either arm). Good effort. Run defense: Clearly his best trait. Has a short, stumpy build so he typically wins the leverage battle. When he does so, Chapman can be tough to move, even showing the ability to handle double-teams. Excellent weight room strength translates well onto the field. Good stack and shed defender. Alert defender who recognizes the trap block and possesses enough quickness to beat his opponent

to the spot. Lacks the sustained speed to chase down ball-carriers, but puts good effort into his lateral pursuit. Explosion: Has an explosive initial punch to push the offensive lineman back onto his heels. Can generate a big hit when he gets moving. Not an explosive athlete, overall, despite his gaudy weight room numbers. Strength: Violent hands and good upper body strength to hold up inside versus the run. Flashes some explosiveness as a hitter. Can rag doll ball-carriers, tossing them to the ground easily. Tackling: An effective drag down tackler due to his upper body strength. Lacks the lateral agility and balance to handle quick ball-carriers in open spaces. Appears to have only average arm length. As such, ball-carriers too often are able to shield him with a stiff-arm and run away from him. Shows good effort in lateral pursuit to the tackle box, but tires quickly and doesn't show enough effort to follow downfield. Intangibles: Has struggled with conditioning at times over his career. Possesses a good motor, however, and will pursue to the sideline and downfield. Possesses excellent weight room strength. Was the team's strongest player as early as his redshirt freshman season, owning a 480 pound bench press in 2008. He left Alabama benching closer to 580 pounds, according to the Alabama strength and conditioning staff and has a 630-pound squat when healthy. Played most of the 2011 season with a torn ACL which required postseason surgery.

  8. defense will be addressed next year..this year was all about offense and that's understandable..when you just drafted a franchise qb you got to give him weapons..

I still think the get a few D guys this yr but i do see their early rd's next yr going towards D unless there is someone that Irsay just has to have.
