Hilarious. Now I can complain about where he took a corner.

now that we got our trenches secured for the next couple years, I can see us grabbing a corner here soon

I really wanted an explosive offensive weapon but it just didn’t fall colts way. If they add an offensive weapon in the second it will probably just be a complimentary piece.
you must support everything Ballard does, or go somewhere else.

Only way I’d be happy tonight is if we did that. selecting an injuring prone player in the first round like this is well, bad
oh not happy with the pick? i thought you loved ballard's strategy

Ballard Mafia? I think I may be among those. 😂 (I'm a fan of Ballard's.)
Seriously, there is no reason for anyone to go after any member. There is no reason to ridicule or bait people. Some here do that.
All sides have to keep in mind that when people are silenced, you lose what makes this forum great. Exchanging different ideas makes the forum more fun. Imagine if everyone wrote the same opinions and thoughts. It would be boring.
All the best on the draft! (If Ballard drafts Bowers, will you join Ballard Mafia? )
oh this is real sweet coming from you

We would not have Steichen or maybe even AR had that happened. So giving him a reset I was very much ok with. But he clearly has not learned a lesson.
hard to say , we probably still hire one of the young coaches, plus take a QB, so it really wouldn't have looked much different in that aspect

In fact Ballard would hold AR back.
It's time to tear the bandaid off and move in a new direction.
Ballards shelf life as a GM is over.
I'm very sorry
he shoulda been let go with reich

That's fine. I don't have a problem with a healthy discussion about football.
So, when is a GM right? Every time they make a decision? When they win? Is it enough to just "try" and that makes them right?
I agree with stating opinions as facts is off by the way.
as long as GM is almost .500 they are doing fine, according to most fans here.

anybody who complains about Ballard on this forum gets categorized, with a file.

"People" were against it... YOU were against it. So was AKB. The possibility of the Colts trading for Diggs was mostly viewed negatively, by "people" in this very thread who seem to now be criticizing Ballard for not trading for Diggs.
why you bringing me up i definitely wasnt in that thread much at all.

Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman, Deforest Buckner, Nelson, Raimann, Ryan Kelly, Braden Smith, Josh Downs, Kenny Moore. So 9 of 22 starters. Not bad when comparing a team that didn’t make the playoffs to a team who won the Super Bowl.
Is Ballard perfect? No. Far from it. However he’s not the bumbling * some want him to be.
I’ll flip the question on you. If Ballard’s teams had had Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning rather than the mess they have had at QB do you think they would make the playoffs more often than not? If you feel so it lends support to Ballard’s theory that the biggest thing this team has been missing is a true franchise QB. If Richardson turns out to be that guy this team will be really good in a couple of years.
lots of teams have players they drafted that panned out well. what's the point? he is decent at drafting? Okay, Captain Obvious. And the Andrew Luck excuse is expired. Move on to a different excuse.

If that holder article is true, then I have to cut Ballard some slack. Still upset we stayed in the sneed discussions for so long, but I’ll cut him some slack.
and honestly not surprised. Houston is a better destination. They have a great young qb. They’re on the up and up. I feel if AR goes out and proves he’s just as good if not better, we’ll see some free agents wanting to play here.
I don’t think the colts being in indiana is the main issue. It’s the same reason why a player like McKinney chose to play in Green Bay. He said himself he chose Green Bay over any of his offers because of Jordan love. Houston has stroud who just played like a top 10 qb. We have AR who even us fans hope he can play a full year. So as a player, if I want to compete, id go to a team with a proven qb.
agree with this statement, kudos to Ballard for attempting, but Indiana being a 'flyover' state is not the sole, or even main reason hunter signed with Houston.
they are the better team, in his home state, with their Franchise QB ready to go

Prime example of a player "CHOOSING" to play somewhere else versus come to Naptown. He chose less money to play for Houston. This happens to both of our major franchises, the Pacers and the Colts.
This is not a GM issue, this is a culture issue. Indiana is a flyover state and thus most free agents will choose to fly over as well and sign with a franchise in a larger city, larger market.
You can say he did it because he likes the Texans chances with Stroud versus the Colts with AR5 - but, big time free agents have skipped the Colts even during the Manning and Luck era's too.
Perhaps someday some of you armchair GM's will realize this and stop whining so much about the FO............Polian, Grigson and Ballard alike.
how much mofe did we offer?

Building through the draft is fine.
…
If you can do it.
Too many of Ballard’s day 1 and 2 picks are just absolute bombs. Theres some hits, lots of JAGs, and waaaay too many guys who don’t even become JAGs. The bad outweighs the good when it comes to Ballard in the first 3 rounds.
He may be the best GM in the draft on day 3, but days 1 and 2 are suspect at best.
His method of drafting guys with lime green RAS bars has produced mediocre results.
We’ve seen what he can build through the draft. A team that sinks multiple picks in the first two days of the draft in the same room and STILL needs to do it again the next year because the need has not been filled. Now that list of rooms is growing.
the list of his 2nd round misses is crazy

lol. Hardly. I’ve been vocal enough on this forum that not having consistent qb play is the difference with this team…and by consistent I mean both on the field and just having the same qb, which we have not since Ryan Grigson was general manager. Think about that… 2016- Luck, 2017-no luck, 2018- luck, 2019- brisset, 2020- rivers, 2021- Wentz, 2022- Ryan, 2023- AR/Minshew… this will be the first year since 2016 that the same qb starts consecutive season openers. That’s why we haven’t won consistently…
yeah ballad has had more than enough time to recover from the Luck situation, and the other years you listed are his fault for being content with bridge QBs

They did something about it as their team was absolutely awful after their franchise QB became a rapist. Then got insane draft capital for the rapist. The problem was the Colts were in better shape when Luck quit so the team took a lot longer to bottom out and even with that, they still weren’t as bad as the Texans. If Luck had decided to commit crimes like Watson and demanded a trade where the Colts could’ve collected an insane amount of draft capital, they’d be even better shape. Unfortunately for the Colts brass, Luck didn’t become a rapist like Deshaun.so be mad at the NFL for letting them trade a player with active allegations, they made the right choice for their organization, don't see how that has anything to do with luck. I'm able to think about it with you, and I see the line you're drawing, I just don't agree with the conclusion.
because if they hadn't traded him, they would've lived with the consequence of the invest. conclusion. hope that explains my viewpoint on it well enough
