  1. What crap? Dancing at a Brazilian festival that his wife participated in? The guy is one of the most followed athletes in the world. Everywhere he goes there is paparazzi waiting for him. He is the modern day Joe Namath - completely transcends the sport and pays the price in his personal life. I can assure you no one in Boston has anything but admiration for Brady. Not only he is the very definition of a winner and the best QB of his generation, he handles all that comes with it with class, integrity and humanity. I wish more of the Red Sox players were like him.

If him dancing like that, with a ponytail, doesnt make you cringe nothing will.

  2. How about who wins in a fist fight? Luck or Brady? I'd say Luck would give him one heck of a blow only to be countered by Brady's man purse! Who's left standing?

    5-tom-brady-dancing-gif.gif

This is the only video we have of Brady with fists clenched, in fighting stance. You tell me who wins...

  3. Oh, you had 53 rookies on the roster? With like, no veterans? Wow, that's got to be an NFL record...

Oh very clever. Since when did "a bunch" mean "all"? Are you trying to say the 2012 Colts didn't have a bunch of rookies in key positions?

  4. And what exactly is going on in that picture? Definitely not a handshake and even if it is, it doesn't happen after every play, that's for sure. We actually play tough down here in Houston. ;) I don't blame Brady though, who wouldn't want to shake Kareem the Dream's hand?

Do you watch Texans games? He gave Brady a low five after a TD pass while down 41-7.

& the Colts are the definition of tough, grit, and perseverance bub. That's how you win 11 games with a bunch of rookies while your HC is in the hospital.

  5. I think Luck was incredibly lucky to win that many games. I don't think he will repeat that this year unless that completion percentage goes way up. No, I am not that concerned about the INTs. I am more concerned about the low completion percentage and just about the worst QB rating in the entire NFL. Now, some of the apologists are going to site another stat that evaluates QBs differently because Luck rates high on that list. I still see everyone using the tried and true QB rating system. I think Wilson and RGIII will have great seasons again this year. Wilson is on the best of the three teams in my opinion and they got better. RGIII will have a great year too and so will exColt Garcon`.

  6. Just read an article on bleacher report talking about Heyward Bey. It said a source close the Colts who supposedly has a good Idea on whats going on is saying that the colts have no interest in Bey either.

Bleacher Report has no idea. B/R is the least trust worthy sports site out there. (I wrote for them at one point)

That being said, I can't see us bringing in Heyward-Bey either

  7. I don't know about you all but I'd love to see some more 5-10 yards underneath Wes welker type passes/receptions, instead of attempting to throw it downfield all the time like last year. I think having Vic in the slot would help us out with that. Very reliable hands, crisp routes, and he can break one off at any time. If we get him everyone should be happy, happy, happy.

  8. One thing to consider is the salary cap. Some of the biggest bargains in football (since the last CBA) are players on their rookie contracts. The 24th pick might average about 2M a year for 4 years, while Cruz will be 9M+ per year. So the question is.. can you draft somebody nearly has good as Cruz with the 24th pick? Cruz averaged about 5 catches and 66 yards a game last year. Could one of the top receivers in this year's draft do that? Maybe not in the first year -- and there is risk that the #24 will bust. I'd still like to see that #24 be used on a top OG/WR or trade down to the top of the second.Having said that, I think we do need a #2 receiver capable of moving to #1 in next couple of years. I'm sure they're analyzing the cap situation for the next few years and would only do a deal like this if it didn't put them in a bind in the future. Luck will have to be resigned in 3 years at 4x to 5x his current hit.. and we have to have room to do that.

I'd agree that I'd rather trade down. 2nd round pick is a way better bargain than a 1st round pick since you can sign them to a longer deal. I still think Cruz is worth the money having witnessed him take my money in my fantasy league last year. Dude is a stud.

  9. Ok, like many people here i have been a colts fan for many years. Through out the Harbaugh,George, Entman, Coryatt years....i could add a few more but you get the idea. But the VERY best thing that has happened since the colts moved to Indy is #18. Brought us to two superbowls, and kept us on the edge of our seats for many games on his own ability. Because of him there is a Superbowl in Indy. And Indy is putting on a heck of a party.

Peyton is most definetly a first ballot HOF canadite. And can be put in the argument for best QB to ever play the game. Just because of that he deserves the right to retire on his own terms ,AS A COLT!!!!

I understand this is a business and we need to look for the future. but i honestly believe that if Peyton could not preform at a high level he would retire on his own terms. And he DESERVES that right..

I would so much like to see Luck in a colts uniform for many years to come but i think Peyton deserves the right ,( for all he has done for the franchise, the city of Indy, and the game of football) to finish his carrer in Indy.

If Peyton would have had an O line ( sans Saturday ), just think how much farther we could have gone.

And some of you fans are just as much to blame. Wearing a Luck jersey to games lobbying Irsay to draft him when we do not know if Peyton can play at a level that he can compete. You people were throwing him under the bus before we even knew what his status is. And now you ^lady^ at Irsay about loyalty?

I say if Peyton is healthy enough to play then there is no other option. HE DESERVES THE RIGHT TO FINISH HIS CARRER IN INDY.......

While I agree with much of what you've said, but if Peyton really wants to stay he can restructure his contract...we can't keep both Luck and Manning, there would be no cap to sign any talent around them. So the real question is do you want to keep Manning for 1-4 years or Luck for 10+...

Montana, Favre, Unitas, Namath...all finished in other uniforms, but when you think of their names what teams come to mind? The teams they were successful with...

Star QBs past their prime get traded, cut, etc it just happens.

  10. Why are people so against Luck? I seriously don't get it. We were 2-14 last year, we played bad enough to get the best pick in the draft, let's use it to get the best player! If we were certain PM is going to be healthy by March 8th, then I could see how trading the pick would be an option, but all signs point to him not being healthy by then.

  11. The statements in bold have one thing in common. They are all different from the situation that the Colts face. Favre and Montana's careers at their respective teams were only terminated when the team was 100% certain they had an equal or better replacement. Rodgers had been in Green Bay for some time as had Steve Young in San Francisco. The Colts do not have a quarterback waiting in the wings that they can count on to lead them.

While the need is certainly prevalent to plan for the future with a newer, younger team, it must not be done at the expense of the present. The Colts must draft young and continue to play their vetrans to possible Super Bowl berths while grooming the young draft picks to take over in 2-3 years. While I am not opposed to taking Luck or Griffin III as the #1 pick, I am convinced that Peyton Manning, if healthy, gives us the best opportunity to win, and thus should be the starter when the 2012 season kicks off.

I think my examples are similar in a lot of ways. Are they the exact same? No, they are not. I did not intend for you to think they were the exact same situation but they all share a common theme...

If you keep your aging QB too long your team has a long recovery time ahead. The Packers and 49ers were able to move on even though their fans were still in love with Farve and Montana, and even though they both had gas left in the tank. Manning from what we've heard is struggling to get healthy and their is no chance in my opinion he will be better before March 8th.

Your theory is the "perfect situation" but unrealistic to say the least. Does Peyton give us the best chance to win if healthy? Abso-freakin-lutely...but I don't think he will be next year. If you think a 36 year old who has had 3 neck surgeries in the last 2 years is going to come back like nothing happened your living in a fantasy land.

By the way, welcome. I'm also new here. Go Colts

  12. Taken from another Topic...

keeping aging veteran stars past their prime is not the way to run your team. Ask the Cowboys, they haven't been the same team since Aikman left. They kept him too long.

The Packers traded Farve when he still had gas in the tank. Nearly a MVP season his first year in Minnesota. Guess what? The Packers have gone on to win a Superbowl since then being led by Favres replacement.

The 49ers traded Joe Montana in his mid-30s to the Cheifs. Guess what? They won a Superbowl with his replacement Steve Young.

If you keep aging veteran stars past their primes your team has nothing to build on. We have the chance to draft the best college QB in a while. We can't keep him and Manning on the same team at the same time, so it's time to choose between building a team to compete for the next 10+ years or try to build a team of aging veterans to compete for 2-4 years TOPS.

And don't give me the excuse "I'd rather win a super bowl in the next 3 years than compete for 10+". Peyton is my favorite player of all-time but he won 1 Superbowl in his prime. He's 36 with terrible neck problem, he's not going to come back as the same Peyton Manning we watched for the first 13 years.

Let's be realistic guys, we're rebuilding around Andrew or RG3. New gm, new coaching staff, new defense, new QB, new attitude. Who knows, maybe we can have a year like the Bengals and surprise everyone next year (I know our defense would have to step up). Whatever happens lets all stay true to the team and support them no matter what.
