  1. I remember back to the "Painter" year, I believe it was the 4th/5th game that season. I was sitting next to a guy in a Chiefs jersey at the KC game. Colts were actually in the game in the first half...the rest is just a sad history/memory. Anyway, this guy was pretty quiet, maybe because his young son was with him, but I remember saying to him "you may have won this battle, but we will soon have Luck"...and I shook his hand and left.

  2. Slow your roll there cowboy!  They're not even hitting yet.  You can't give someone the job based on expectations, they have to earn it.  McGill (and Satele) have been in the system and at least have experience.

They may both end up being backups sometime during the season, but let's see if these other guys, especially the rookies, can actually play in the NFL before we expect them to start.

Exactly!  It's like hiring the guy fresh out of college with the MBA to run the mail room.  After awhile, he figures it out on paper, but never realizes that paper is not real life...

  3. NFC please

With your avatar, I thought you were gonna answer the question with "on his feet"...I like NFC answer better though.

As a fan, it stinks to lose DF; Wore his jersey to every game for the last 6 years.  As a business decision, I know it's for the best.

    Good luck #93.

  4. This stinks. I had a great idea for an article I was gonna write but now I fear it is too late as it will appear I'm a copy cat (never mind the fact that I've never written an article before). The main theme of my article was about how Houston fans have placed Arian Foster in such high regard while totally forgetting about Earl Campbell. Come on Houston fans...start livin in the was.

  5. I figured it has. I saw it on tv during the 4th and 2 game

We go at least once a year. I have gone about every year since mid 90's. I was at the 4th & 2 game and I can honestly say that the noise level from my perspective was very close to the RCA dome days. Unfortunately, I have not experienced any other game in LOS that compares to the noise in the old dome. But as I get older, my analogy would be that I guess I don't have to have the old car with a kickin loud stereo anymore. I'm happy with the new, more comfortable ride...

  6. 0 sacks

NT do not typically get any sacks and get few tackles. They are there to take on two defenders and eat up blockers so the LBs can make the tackles. They are the unsung heros of most great 3-4 defenses. Don't anticipate any of our future NTs getting more than 1 or possibly most 2 in a year..ever.

He also has no pick sixes...When BM was asked why he has none, he simply replied, "not my job"

  7. I know it stinks to see so many of the veteran players being released. This does not mean I'm happy about any of it.

But, with the majority of the fan base (present company included), most new it was time for a change. Fans were calling for Caldwell and Polian to be fired (me included). Well, the wish was granted so I have to expect a change of direction.

Now that I got that out of my system I'll get to the real point of this thread...Which veteran players (in the Manning era) have been released by the colts, only to have GREATER success with their new team than they had here in Indy? Marshall Faulk comes to mind, but I cannot think of too many others.

  8. after reading your posts and some other people's posts in this thread, I think that you have absolutely 0 knowledge about Football.

Don't post if you don't know.

Earlier in the thread you said with Manning we go to playoffs every year and we are always one and done. ummm,,,no...we are rarely one and done, while winning SB, losing SB and making multiple AFC chanpionships.

you are the one who is 1 and done. Don't post if you don't know what football is.

Addai getting old? he just turned 28. Don't post if you don't know.

to all the rest of you. You say 3-4 losing seasons is ok to rebuild. hmmm. ok...get ready to fire Grigson if we are not gonna start winning in 3 years. I can't wait until him and Irsay are exposed for these sins.

    Irsay and Grigson = enemies

I'm sure there are 31 other teams that would love to have you as a fan.

    Your passion is unmatched!

  9. Rookie coach with no head coaching experience at any level

Rookie quarterback (well, you know how I feel about this one)

    Almost all veteran leadership discarded

Well, No one knows about how good (or bad) the new coach or new QB will be.

But, as far as the "veteran leadership" that you mention, it only got us 2 wins last year. My guess would be 4 wins!

  10. I don't disagree with that. I think the NFL needs to drop the hammer on him and the Saints.

I think it's pretty clear the NFL already tried to sweep it under the rug. I saw it reported the owner told the GM to stop and the GM didn't follow threw on that. Who do you think told the owner this was going on? I am guessing the league told the Saints what was going on to try to get them to clean it up on their own. The Saints ignored it and now the league had to act. One thing I've learned about Goodell is that when he tells you to do something and you ignore it you are in deep trouble with him.

Again I don't doubt he did it in other places either. I am just saying without some more proof you can't punish those other teams too.

Maybe the punishment for the Saints should be that they have to play in the CFL for a couple of years...

  11. If the colts pass up on Luck & draft a WR(Blackmon) instead, they should be thrown out of the league.

+1...When's the last time a single receiver made a team a Super Bowl contender. I'm not saying Luck is a guarantee, but the odds are better for the overall team to take a quality QB than to take a quality receiver.

  12. Is it possible that Grigson did not even realize that the Colts had an OC because of the way the offense played this year? If he didn't know we had one then he didn't know to fire him. I can see it now, Clyde sitting in a dark room, just working on the Penske file with George Costanza...

  13. I think Mr. Irsay is working on a deal to send Caldwell and the Polians to the Rams for the No 1 pick...

That way he doesn't have to fire anyone and he still gets his guy!

(sorry, I don't know how to use the sarcasm emoticon...NOR DO I WANT TO LEARN)

  14. There is lots of negative talk about Peyton and lots of people just want to brush him off and move on. I saw this video on NFL.com and thought it was great. I know that personally, I have taken what Peyton does for granted. Things like his work ethic and his preparation are things we fans don't see, but the results are something we are happy with. We have witnessed and, in my opinion, will continue to witness one of the greatest NFL careers of all time. Enjoy

We have been fortunate to witness many games, whether live or on TV. But honestly, the first time I saw the great work ethic of PM was in 2010 when we attended our first Colts camp practice session at Anderson University. It was one of those 98 degree August days and two practices were scheduled. The afternoon practice went 3:30 to 5:30 full pads. At exactly 5:30, everyone cleared the field except for PM. He started running 35 yard wind sprints and continued to do so for at least 20 minutes. A few of the players came back out to the field after cooling off to sign some autographs. PM went directly to the crowd to start signing autographs after he completed his "additional" workout.

The funniest comment of the day came when some deranged fan started shouting at Peyton to sign something. He looked at her (yes it was a female) and then she stated, "please sign this, I've been here for over an hour and I'm really hot." To which PM replied, "Yeah, me too." This will be one of my fondest memories related to Colt's football I'm sure.

    Please...come back soon PM.
