  1. A similar thread over at another forum posed the question of whether this was the most humiliating loss in the history of the Superbowl. The overwhelming majority of the posters have chosen this year's Broncos, which surprised me somewhat. Granted, 8 points with the greatest offense of all-time (helmed by a record-setting QB who was lauded as the greatest ever going into the game) is pretty pathetic, and they were favored to boot. On the other hand you have the '07 Pats, who were undefeated and favored heavily (helmed by a record setting QB who was lauded as the greatest ever going into the game), and who were favored by double digits. The Pats only put up 14 with the (then) greatest offense ever. The difference, of course, is that they made the game competitive against already established they could compete with them during the regular season. And of course you have other teams like the '68 Colts... In any event, what are your thoughts?
  2. If it makes you feel better to bring Brady into it, do so. Not going to take away from this. 55 TDS, 607 points---------> 8 in the Superbowl.
  3. Peyton Manning's pick six did, however, put 6 points on the board. That's 2 fewer than the Broncos, who had the greatest offense ever (led by Peyton Manning, who has a record-setting 55TD, MVP season), had all game.
  4. I think at some point it rubs off on your teammates. Even when Peyton plays great the other guys crap the bed. I think his teammates legitimately think they're not going to win alongside him. Whether Manning plays well or not is immaterial.
  5. Yes?... The greatest offense ever has 8 points. This was the game (in which the Broncos were favored by the oddsmakers and the media) that would cement his status as the GOAT in the minds of many, and he played his worst game of the year. Of course people are bashing him.
  6. 30 of 40 with a majority of checkdown completions, 2 INTS and overthrows on everything he's thrown downfield. A stat line only tells half the story. AND A TD!
  7. I agree, but it's just funny to note that these courteous attempts to lessen his blame are seldom extended to Brady by Colts fans. Like I always say, the double standards work both ways. And this Seattle D is way better than anything Peyton has ever overcome. People will say I'm overreacting, but given the passing league we're playing in, I think this Seattle defense is among the best I've ever seen play.
  8. We understand that you're preemptively trying to highlight everything that isn't on Peyton to make it seem like he isn't playing a big role in this collapse, but I don't think this is the time. He is going to get criticism for this and it will be deserved. So far, the greatest scoring offense in NFL history has 0 points through the first 3 quarters. The Broncos are the betting favorite, and this whole week was all about how Peyton Manning was the best ever. You're trying to downplay his failures here, but he deserves a fair amount of blame for saving his worst game for today.
  9. Pretty blatant. I'd rather they let them play like this though.
  10. The body language on the Denver side of the ball looks terrible.
  11. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. You're probably right. He's going to have to take a lot more chances downfield, and he's been overthrowing his receivers quite a bit at times.
  13. 0 Points for the greatest offense in the history of the NFL at half. 0_0 I knew they were going to have trouble moving the ball, but I would have called you crazy if you told me they wouldn't have any points yet.
  14. Agreed. That was absolutely the right call. Especially since SEA is getting the ball to start the 2nd half. Not even a question.
  15. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The HAWKS are absolutely manhandling them out there.
  16. DEN absolutely needs this conversion. EDIT: Another penalty at the worst possible time.
  17. Reminds of the '07 Superbowl. The line that gave up the fewest sacks during the regular season is getting abused. It's throwing absolutely everything out of whack.
  18. This will get overturned. Either way, the Broncos are visibly rattled right now.
  19. The best scoring offense of all time is getting absolutely manhandled. Peyton picked a bad time to have his worst game of the season (or half of the season). It's going to take some effort to get back in this.
  20. Not even sure what you're talking about at this point. ANOTHER INT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
