  1. With Drew Stanton gone, will Chandler Harnish become the new backup to Andrew Luck? This is of course if he is still available to us.

Or is this another move best left to Free Agency and/or Draft?

Just thought of switching it up for a change.

  2. I'm assuming you're joking...and what does Achilles have to do with this conversation? My team is still the lead in the AFC. Your team, however, is not. Right now it would be crazy to say the Colts could beat the Texans, so no, just no, to your odd prediction after not scoring a single TD today.

No, me and the rest of America saw that happening against the Packers.

  3. Week one we lost to the Bears, who lost to Green Bay but beat Jacksonville. We lost to Jacksonville, who beat Minnesota who lost to us. Today, we lost to the Jets, who beat Miami and Buffalo but lost to the Texans. And tonight the Texans lost to Green Bay.

So we're better than the Texans right?

"While today it might be me...we all shall fall."

  4. I think Grigson has filled enough other "holes" that he can spend a draft pick or two on a good cornerback. I don't see Samuel as being the right choice for an organization that is rebuilding (from youth). As great as Samuel has been in the past, he's getting too old and demands too high of a contract number to justify up picking him up.

I would have to agree with you, however, rebuilding from youth wouldn't necessarily mean not having/completely cutting out experience. i.e. Wayne, Redding. With that said, this trade doesn't fit our budget. A solid CB pick in the draft is definitely needed.

A trade of Freeney for Samuel would save the Colts 5 million dollars, however this is still a very unlikely scenario since the Eagles are probably looking to trade him to cut salary.

Eagles already have Babin and I believed locked Cole to a longer deal this off-season. So their need at DE as expensive as Freeney is not there.

  5. Eagles are reportedly are trying to trade Asante Samuel before the 2012 draft. With Grigson's connection with the Eagles this could be a possible option for the Colts.

HOWEVER, Samuel is 31 and set to make $8.4 million salary next season with a salary cap hit of $9.5 million with the contract he signed in 2008.

Improvement would be welcomed to our CB group with his experience and would definitely would help out our needs for our defense. BUT, his salary cap hit of $9.5 million would be way too costly.

Depending on what the Eagles are eyeing to obtain for Samuel and if the trade can be made with a cheaper salary cap friendly contract, I'm seeing this as a near improbable trade. Your thoughts?

  6. No one is a "guaranteed" sure bet of going to the Superbowl and/or playoffs. Anyone can lose at any given time. To say the 49ers are going to the Superbowl with Peyton is a guess at best.

Anyways, Jay Glazier reported that Manning would run his own offense in Denver and not in Tennessee and San Fran.

  7. No need to take it personnally.........I just have an opinion... Mario Williams dropped into coveage on occasion last year in the Texan's new 3-4....and his sack production went down.....the Bills are reverting back to a 4-3 now that they have Williams.....

His production went down because he went on IR in October. Before that he recorded five sacks and a forced fumble and was getting more comfortable each week. Either way his natural position IS in a 4-3 so that makes a lot of sense, probably a reason why he signed with them (besides BIG $$$$).

  8. Since Rex Grossman resigned with the Redskins and Shaun Hill resigned with the Lions. I vote for David Garrad as backup QB.

Looks like he's interviewing with Miami. Doubt he goes there however since they still have a chance on Matt Flynn.

  9. Trust Pagano to know what he is doing, being a defensive minded coach, to install an effective defense using the chess pieces that we DO have. I'm sure he's well aware that Freeney and Mathis are out of their comfort zones and that we need a solid DT. We will get there in time.
