Vontae is a top corner in the league, but had Winston been more accurate, he would have been that trash can today. I don't think he's a 100% judging from the way he was running and getting beat. A more accurate QB would've ate him alive today. Hope he gets better soon.

In case we can't resign TY after all of these big contracts we're about to pay out.
-
I really like him as a possession guy. Only problem is that he's been injury prone a lot lately.
-
One game and everyone wants to get rid of a guy who coordinated us into being a top 3 offense all season. And did so with a mediocre, at best, run game and consistently makeshift offensive line. Why exactly would we want Chud to be the OC when Pep is doing just fine.

I just don't know how you guys are calling a 4.6 ypc average guy a bum. Other than Tampa, he's never been a feature back for a full season. But this guy is far from a bum.

Do we take the most explosive player on the board or do we reach with defensive players like Werner? Picking 29th and still getting an impact player on offense IMO is the way to go.
29. Indianapolis Colts: Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
What the divisional round of the playoffs should reinforce is that Andrew Luck can't carry the Colts on his own forever. Indianapolis needs to improve on the ground to take the next step. Although Trent Richardson will not be the answer, Gordon very well could be.
NFL Network's Charles Davis believes Gordon deserves to be the first running back chosen in the first round since 2012:
Gordon had one heck of a close-out performance, compiling 251 yards rushing and three touchdowns in a 34-31 win over Auburn in the Outback Bowl. The Badgers star can also catch the ball and pass protect, making him suited for a feature role to complement Luck.
I wouldn't do this. The way RB are being drafted now, you can get a good one late. I think you have to go DL or OL with our 1st pick and maybe the 2nd pick also. Herron's play made this possible.
-
A footnote. Just like Jonas Gray. The problem is the poor, undisciplined play of our defensive front.
He has a career 4.6 ypc average. It's more than just our defense that he has been running over.
-
No we prefer to watch him run over and thru us. Signing him wouldn't allow that
I just don't get it. He was exactly the kind of back that Pep needed to run the power scheme it wants to run, but they just paid no attention to that. They had plenty of time to see that Trent wasn't working out, so they couldn't use that for an excuse.
-
He only does good against us so I don't think it would have made a difference.
He actually ran good in a lot of games with the Steelers. He just had Bell in front of him, which never allowed him to get that much time on the field.
-
When he became a free agent after being cut by the Steelers, did we take a look at him or did he decide to sign back with NE, regardless of what team was looking at him? We were trying to establish a power run game and it wasn't working at that point, so I'm not sure why we wouldn't give him a look after seeing what he did to us before. Despite our horrible line, he seemed like he would of been an excellent pickup, at least for this year. I remember a few comments in here saying we didn't want that trash, etc, etc... Well we sure could have used that trash for some of these games. I know our line sucked most of the year, but his running style could have made up for some of it. At best, it would of kept him out of the PATS hands, who we knew loved to run that power game against us.
-
LOL. Besides Davis, I don't know what you think we have out there that would have made any other DC look better. At the end of the day, the PATS just had more talent than us. We could've had the best DC of all time on our sideline, we just don't have the personnel to match them right now.

This topic makes me laugh. Just because how so many people are trying to make it seem like a bad thing that bill belichick outsmarts his opponents lol, ridiculous. Since when are trick plays a BAD thing? As long as they work.... Its like somebody getting mad you're beating them at a video game so they say you're cheating.
Huh, what are you talking about? First off, where in my topic am I getting mad about anything? And please tell me where I tried to make it a bad thing that he used that play. The question is, do you think he was use the play again? And do you think we're preparing for it? Honestly, did you read the topic all the way through?

Well it seems as if the "genius" BB, isn't as smart as people are giving him credit for. It appears that he's "stolen" this play or idea from another coach. And apparently, this play has been ran numerous times before in college. http://nypost.com/2015/01/12/belichick-likely-got-trick-play-from-another-evil-football-genius/
-
During Tom Brady's press conference after the BAL game, he was asked about the "trick" formation play that they used. He answered the question the same way every other PAT player and coach did, by saying it was a legal play. But he said something at the end that stood out to me that I'm not sure if anyone else caught. He said, "I'm sure we'll have something new next week," with a slight smirk on his face. So my question is, do you think BB will use this play again or some slight variation of it? Also, do you think our coaching staff have our players practicing and preparing for it? I think Pagano may have our entire coaching staff reading through the rules book again, trying to find any loophole BB may try to use.

does anyone know who the dolphins got with that secound round pick we traded to them?
CB Jamar Taylor

Bring what back to reality...The Bengals are a NFL team right, with PAID professional players right?
Yes, they sure are. But you can't disregard. So even though they are getting paid, some are getting paid thousands and some are getting paid millions for a reason. So again, I'm bringing those back to reality who think we played a team like the Seahawks or Lions defense.
-
Nice to see all the excuse for a nice performance by the O-line...
Really,
A good play-off win and nay sayers come out....pretty pathetic...
Some of us are just bringing everyone back to reality. They Bengals aren't exactly the best at getting pressure on the QB if you haven't heard, non the less, it was a great performance by the o-line.
-
Garbage
You have right to feel that way but they kept a blocking TE over there for a reason. Even Bart Scott made mention how we kept 6 linemen in the entire game. He was going against a great pass rusher in Dunlap, so I can see why he needed help.
-
Great performance overall for the O-line but individually, I feel Reitz allowed a little too much pressure. He needed help a lot.

Or Peyton took us to the SB then lost the Superbowl, and then he proved that he couldn't overcome a mediocre quartberback with his coaching. Then couple that with the fact that it is foolish to force a head coach on a new GM, and there is no way he should have stayed here. Happy for the guy, but let's not pretend he was good at the time. He learned from the experience of being trashed and dropped. And it's not like the Lions didn't have the talent to make the playoffs beforehand. And he is the not maker of their top defense.
With all of the major injuries we had that year, nobody could have done anything with that team. And again, it wasn't meant for us to win games that year anyway after Peyton was done for the year. Not when the consensus was that there was a once in a lifetime QB waiting there to be drafted, along with a pretty good Heisman QB at the time also. And it's funny you said how the Lions couldn't make the playoffs, because they couldn't...lol. Not since 2011 with the same talent that has been there and now in his first year, they have to chance to have a 1st round bye. No matter how much it pains you, you have to give the guy credit. Everyone is questioning if we should have kept BA, so why isn't everyone saying we should have kept JC when he's doing the same and has already won much more than BA.
-
Seriously happy for this guy. I thought he caught a bad break and became the scapegoat after our tank season to get Luck. Look at his resume: He took our Colts to the Super Bowl. He won a Super Bowl as the OC of the Ravens. And he has a great shot at getting the Lions a 1st round bye in the NFC. I know a lot of you guys probably didn't want this guy because he wasn't flashy or a big name, but he's done well wherever he went. I think we let a good one get away.

I think It happened today
ok
-
Well will the NFL be investigating us now, like they are the Dallas Cowboys for not reporting this injury on the injury report? That's if he had it prior to this game.
-
Think of it this way. You get on the madden cover by having a huge year. You have a huge year by getting a lot of touches. You are more likely to get injured the year after getting a lot of touches...
Well you can't exactly take touches away from QB's and CB's.
Oddities about 12 and health.
