  1. Last impression before I sign off...

    respect your coach,

respect the heck out of Luck and the talent on the field, it was a hard fought game

Still respect Hasselbeck and intend to see him hoisted in our ring of honor

enjoyed the hospitality of almost all of the fans I talked to on the board

disappointed how a few treat a respectful fan after you won the game

Hawk fans are a good bunch, we all have a few bad apples that are not representing the majority.  It's easy to talk smack to a losing team on the way out of your door, but definitely not "classy" and tarnishes what is probably a good bunch in here too.

Otherwise I actually do hope to meet you guys again in the Super Bowl

  2. actually we are being pretty decent...  some crazy pic comes to our attention and we try to be objective.  Loss is a loss though and we can't go hunting for excuses, as it doesn't serve anything.  Our board is just in the mode of re-hashing what we think we did or didnt do right today and someone brought it up, can't fault us for that.  Like I said, most likely a non-issue but this is for someone else at a higher pay grade than me to sort out.

  3. Seahawk fan here...   bummed for sure, but heck of a game Colts.  Our backup Oline did pretty well today, but I think our receivers were off a bit today.  Our defense we great except for Thurmond on Reggie...Thurmond is a top notch corner, but Reggie got the best of him.  Both Marshawn and Russell both has 100 yds today though.  Hopefully we meet up again in the playoffs

  4. Good win! Good game by the Seahawks well, good to see some of there fans come over and enjoy the game with us

thanks, no reason we can't hang out...  all we can ask is that it is a great game each week.  We will take our loss with our heads up and hopefully we get our 3 linemen back soon and then Percy Harvin.  Should be a wild year. You have to admit Russell Wilson surprised you though...right?

  5. Seahawks fan here...I might check in to this thread once in a while and bounce back and forth from our site (if you guys don't mind) and I can maybe answer any Seahawks related questions that come up.  Win or lose, it's not a bad thing for decent opposing fans to hang out on game day

  6. we didn't have Unger, Giacomini, Okung against the Texans and it was the first start for our rookie tackle...   This week having Miller out really hurts, but we will see how our new TE Willson (with two Ls) does.  But we did get Irvin back at fast LB.  Hawks are definitely playing "next man up" on OLine.

  7. I'm thinking back to my High school days and at 17 years old, I did not have a 4 point anything.  Probably should give the guys high school rep a break.  Out of his class, it appears he was pretty good.

Being a hawk fan and having been to many practices and events where Sherm was participating.  All I have seen is a hard playing guy, not someone who backs down from anything and most times having fun and quite a goofball on the field.  Whenever he is around fans or kids, he is the guy you love to see running over to talk with the kids (and adult fans) with a big smile on his face.  Most of his "trash talking" is in response to some other trashing by the other player.  The media loves making him into the trash talking corner, but all I see is a talented kid that probably goes a little too far on his post game interviews (but he sure has heart).  Whenever he has been explaining something on his interviews, he has usually been right, but then carries his opinion just a little too far.  So talented player, hell yes, bad guy no...could he handle his interviews better, yeah probably

  8. Pretty sure Sherman is hamming it up with Harbaugh to some extent.  The fact he even ran up and smacked him on the back (butt), leads me to believe that they are still somewhat respectful of each other.  Us fans have to remember that we are on the outside looking in.  It's pretty easy to think that they are guys getting paid a lot of money using some of this stuff as PR to inflate their commercial and endorsement value.

other than that though...I love Sherm.  Great guy when I met him a couple of times, and I highly recommend watching the NFL Films video on him

  9. another Hawk fan here...

I think our boards (at least the one I hang out in) are definitely talking about the game and discussing Russ and company going up against Luck and Co..  Most of us looked at the Colts and Texans as two of the toughest games for us this year, so we are all talking about who is injured on our team and who is able to play, but I think the consensus is that these Hawks and Colts are two good teams and well matched up.

I am anticipating some tough gut checks by both teams this Sunday and the winning team just getting some points to fall their way to win it by a field goal or so.  Whether it is Hawks or Colts, just looking forward to a good game and no more injuries.  I am prepared to see some great offense from your Colts and hoping you are surprised by how good our Hawks are.  But of course personally, I would like the hawks to pull this one off, you guys already have "Luck" so I am hoping for some on our side.

  10. not sure what a "derp" is, but just to make sure people are aware...Sherman has a degree from Stanford and is working on his masters, so I would say he is fully aware of how his talk and actions are perceived.

Compton, Calif. The LA Times profiled him in 2005 as he turned down USC (Pete Carroll) and became the first player in 20+ years from Compton Dominguez H.S. to get a Stanford scholarship, on the combination of his 4.1 GPA and 2-way football athleticism (WR / CB).

A followup LA Times story in Jan 2012 notes that Sherman completed his Stanford undergraduate degree and is now close to completing his Master's degree. (He returned to Stanford as a Master's student for his final year of eligibility.)

  11. It's hard to support either QB as the end-all be-all best...both are great QBs and either would be celebrated if they fell to either team in the draft.  Pete Carroll (and Schneider GM) had their sights set on Russell the year prior to the draft and actually were targeting him for rnd 2...when they saw how the draft was playing out they opted to pick up Bobby Wagner (great pick) in round 2 and made a gamble that Russell would be there at pick 75.  I read that they picked him just before Philly who wanted him at the next pick.

I'm sure they knew Luck and RG were probably going 1 and 2.  Situations reversed, both teams would love to have the other QB (Russell vs Wilson).  As far as Sherm saying he thinks Russell is better...just his opinion, but I have not heard Sherm ever say anything he doesn't believe to be true.  And Russell Wilson is a special player, very smart and a leader (he has our whole team believing)

As far as watching Sherm this week...I highly recommend it.   As a hawk fan who has talked with him and seen how he interacts with fans and kids, he is a class act, but on the field he is a tough opponent. Just watching his coverage on plays...Sherm is talented and just a heartbeat away from making a big play every time.  His trash talking has decreased this year and usually if he is trash talking, it is in response to the same, (he usually is not the one starting it).  Also, he will give props to any player that has a good play or game against him.  In a recent interview, he laughed when asked about his type of trash talk and said " you can't just say You Suck, you have to have some fun with it and be creative"

I highly recommend watching the NFL films story on Sherm.

The game this week will be a tough one, for both teams.  There will be a lot of talent on the field (on both sides).  Win or lose, I love games like this (but I do like them better when we win).  Injury free and good luck to you guys too

  12. Another Seahawks fan here...   I've got respect for the Colts (and Luck) as most Hawk fans I know do, and think you guys have a darn good team.  Hasselbeck is an former Hawk we think a lot of and having seen how he helped Jake Locker, I think is probably a good experienced influence for Luck to have in his ear.  We knew the Texans and the Colts would be two of the toughest we would face on the road this year.  If we were not in the playoffs, I would have no problem if the Colts went the distance.

This game will be a tough one so not predicting any lopsided score, (just another tough hard fought game like the Houston game).  We let the Texans get the best of our team for the first half and then finally started to figure it out and play our brand of tough football.  We had three of our starting O-line out and still got out with a win because this Hawks team just doesn't give up and several players stepped up.  Kind of crazy to see 20 points by each team, but in two seperate halves.

I read that someone thought the Hawks didn't score much against the Panthers so they aren't that tough on the road, but those Panthers have a heck of a defense and we did hold Cam to his all time low passing yardage.  And we are not really getting credit for a Houston win(people saying the Hawks got a gift), but the Hawks did score 20 unanswered points in the second half. Just food for thought.

Always liked the Colts, but been a hawk fan since the franchise started and watched a lot of mediocre football, always hoping for a miracle win.  This year and team is different...everyone used to write us off, but these Hawks play hard and find ways to win now.  It is pretty cool to watch how it is coming together and us Northwest fans are having an absolute love fest with Russell Wilson and our team.  Pete Carroll and John Schneider have brought together a lot of talent over the last few drafts and all of them are actually good guys that put team first (even Sherm which contradicts the media hype).  Russell Wilson is the perfect underdog QB to lead this team and Lynch is the poster player for tough.

Sherm is a talker, but actually pretty funny (he will trash talk if someone else is, but he will also give props to someone for a good play on him).  He is also the kind of guy who stops on his way out of the practice facility and rolls down the window of his car and talks to some young fans who didn't get in to the practice

I think our defense got caught off guard by Houston, but I can bet they will be ready for another tough fight.  Our offense got caught with too many injuries against trying to hold up against JJ Watt and company.  Not sure yet how our O-Line will do (or if any players will be back this week).  Keep your eye on some of the backups - noteable the center in for Unger and the rookie right tackle in for Giacomini.  We should also have Bruce Irvin back this week, but he is now playing at Linebacker, so this will be new to us too.  Chris Clemons is just back after his knee rehab and we still don't know if Bennett will play, (but thankful he is ok)

Like the other Hawk fan who posted, hopefully I can answer any questions regarding the Seahawks.  Our fanbase is mostly normal hardworking folks who are like your fans and we don't hold anything against good fans/teams...but we do get a lot of crap about drinking coffee and being in the rain.  Oh and yes our Century Link Field is Really that loud in person.  You can't even hear your own voice...it is pretty darn cool to be part of.

Appreciate the chance to talk about our teams and happy to have any legitimate fans on our board discussing our two teams and Xs and Os this week.  I think the only fans we have a tough time with are the Niner fans who just spout off about how they are going to crush us.

Hoping for a good game with no injuries and no questionable calls.  I also want to watch Luck and Fleener in action, since I wanted Fleener for the Hawks on draft day.

    Looking forward to this week
