  1. I am a fan with 6 season tickets (2 club and 4 others). Family is out of town this week, which means not able to go to game. We put the tickets up for sale on the Colts/NFL Ticket Exchange (when first allowed to by website). My tickets are priced very fair and prior to this I have never had a problem selling.

Once my tickets were listed, I would periodically try to go back to the website to check others pricing. Unlike ever before, when I would try to go back through the Colts/NFL Exchange to check the site would show up "server unavailable, unable to route to page". Very odd and no access? When I went to Ticketmaster I had no problems.

    * update to above... 20 minutes ago when Colts announced game was sold-out, I went back to the NFL Exchange through the Colts website and "magically" I was routed normally and as I have always been routed?

New to the Colts website there are several different and MUCH more prominent links stating "PLAYOFF TICKETS FOR SALE" when the link is pressed I was routed to and totally separate and Colts specific ticket site, which I am assuming are Colts owned tickets, which must sell to count towards sell-out?

This site very easily routes fans to "FACE VALUE" tickets available. Then off to the side they have listed "RESALE ONLY". When this is clicked it takes me to all of the seats available for sale and as stated 'TICKETS MUCH HIGHER THAN FACE VALUE" (I am assuming these are the from the NFL Ticket Exchange)? I click to find my seats for sale and they show a MUCH HIGHER price than they are listed for on the Exchange? I then click "ticket details" and they show the tickets with an additional "service charge" again not listed on the Ticket Exchange?

    * update to above... again not long after the sell-out was announced... access to this site changed and was not easy to? Very ODD?

This is very strange and I feel as though there may be some funny business going on with the NFL and attempting to control ticket sales through the NFL Ticket Exchange until the Colts sell out (more TV revenue?).

Again all other times go through NFL Ticket Exchange through Colts website. This week it has showed "page not available" (unless go directly through ticket master).

Ticket Exchange shows my correct price, UNLESS I go through the Colts Playoff tickets… The I must press extra tabs and they show a much higher price for my same seats?

Are aware if anyone others have had a problem with this?

  3. Rankings don't really say how he's playing. What's the difference between 20th and 10th?

And it's unfair to hold net yards against the punter. We've let some punt returns come back for an extra five or ten yards more than they should have this season. No disasters yet, but the punt coverage hasn't been impressive.

10 spots? As irrelevant as punters may be in the stat and overall performance to a team, they have to be held accountable like everyone else.

Is it unfair for a running back to be graded on yards per carry or total yards for that matter? Just blame it on the offensive line for not opening big enough holes? some get it done and others do not.

  4. Also I looked up Pat's numbers since there was some worry about him shanking punts.  He is currently averaging his second highest average per punt of his career at 46.6 yards a punt.  Since the Miami game was brought he averaged 51.0 yards a punt which is his season high to date with punts of 60 yards, 47 yards which was a touchback, 51 yards which he put out of bounds, and 48 yards (his shank), When 48 yards is your "shank" that's pretty darn good.

The numbers don't lie... From Kravitz article:

The same can’t be said of the punting game, which was spotty at best. Pat McAfee, who, as you may know, has a show Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. on indystar.com and live at Kilroy’s in Broad Ripple (gratuitous plug), struggled all night. The killer came on his final punt, with the Colts still hoping to stage a late-game comeback, when he hit a 35-yarder that gave San Diego the ball in prime field position. Numbers don’t lie: He had a sub-par game, and he’s had a less-than-average season, standing 20th in gross and 27th in net average in the league.

  6. Just a few things:

    1.  Pat did have an issue with the whole canal thing when he first got here.  He has since worked extremely hard to put that behind him and has said and done just about anything you could ask a guy who makes a mistake like that to do.  He has even gotten to the point he doesn't go out drinking like he did before because he realized how bad he messed up.  He's not afraid to share his story with other players or when people ask him about it to try to keep them from making the same mistake he did The key is he made a mistake, those happen as long as you learn from them and don't do it again you can move past something like what Pat did.

    2.  There have been zero reports from anyone to suggest Pat is anything less than a TEAM first guy.  In fact the fact he was voted a captain last year by his teammates seems to suggest just the opposite, that they view him not only as a team first guy but a leader of the team.

    3.  Pat does as much if not more work for charity than any other Colts player on the roster.  He even bought a station wagon one year filled it up with gift and just drove around Indianapolis giving it away and then donated the station wagon when he was done to charity.

    4.  If you don't think Pat is a weapon and can change games I suggest you go back and watch the first half of the 49ers game.  No he's not a weapon like a QB but Pat can and does change field position on a regular basis and barriers kickoffs in the back of the endzone to not allow returns which was a real issue before Pat got here.  Also if someone does get a long return on a punt Pat has been known to lay the wood and has saved a handful of touchdowns over his career.

    5.  Pat did not ask for a franchise tag and has made it known to everyone that he wants to stay in Indianapolis long term.  It's the Colts that elected not to negotiate with him for a long term contract.  He can't sign something that's not offered.  Pat went as far as to say he will never complain about the tag because his dad would beat him if he complained about getting paid what he's getting paid this year to play a game.  If you look at McAfee's tag it's not very big.  My guess is Grigson didn't worry about an extension because he had a lot of other things on his plates this off-season and they could live with McAfee's contract as it is.  That's how things tend go in the NFL when it comes to money, teams put it off to the last possible second when they HAVE to deal with it.  It's very possible they could tag him again this off-season and just keep letting him play under the franchise tag because franchise tags for punters are not that expensive when compared to one for say a QB.

    6.  Pat had "A" shanked punt in the Seahawks game.  He boomed another and had one blocked that was not his fault.  He also put every single one of his kickoffs in the back of the endzone and did not allow a return.  Just like how Peyton Manning will throw a pick or an incomplete pass now and then McAfee is not perfect he's going to shank a punt here or there, it's football those things happen from time-to-time no player is perfect.  The one in the Seahawks game and I think he had one in the Miami game.  That is hardly an issue unless you are wanting it to be an issue.

    7.  Everyone is entitled to an opinion.  However, just because someone has an opinion doesn't mean that opinion is right.  I think the original poster's opinion here is at best uninformed or at worst a very bias opinion of McAfee because he or she flat out doesn't like him.

    8.  Reggie Wayne has a radio show, Andrew Luck has an exclusive agreement with Channel 13 to talk football on their news every Monday, Wayne does the same every Sunday, Pagano has a radio show every Monday night.  Are those also distractions that are causing a poor performance on the field?  Careful before you answer because Wayne does his radio show a whole hour before McAfee does his TV show and his radio show is a half an hour longer than McAfee's TV show.  Despite what we would like to believe these guys do not eat, breath, and live football 24/7.  Nothing McAfee is doing is interfering with practice or games or preparation for them.  If it did there is no way the team would let him do it.

The responses to this have gone purely emotional, without reading to understand what has been said...

    1) This was not brought into the conversation until you just posted. In fact I agree this is old news and in the past. Also hats off to Pat for being able to leave his drinking demons at home.

    2) Why was he not voted team captain this year too?

    3) Big statement? I am sure some others in the Colts Organization may dispute the level of Pats involvement versus others. Regardless good news for the charities  as it is always better when they win!

    4) Really? Personally I do not think he is that big of a weapon. Plus it has been some time (couple of years) since he has been able to "lay the wood" as you say.

    5) I never said Pat asked for the Franchise Tag or disputed his contract, in fact my statement was on par with yours questioning why our GM (Mr.Grigson) decided to go this route versus locking him up long term. A little curious perhaps?

    6) Yes he did have A shanked punt in the Seahawks game along with with a blocked punt (some of the fault does lie with the punter "Pat". He had 2 pathetic short and shanked punts in the first half of the Dolphins game a couple of games prior.

Kickoff's versus returns are not as valuable now with the kickoff being moved up 5 yards a couple of seasons ago. Before this I agree he was a valuable asset, but not so much now as everyone does it.

    7) I agree that your opinions are likely as correct or incorrect as mine are... depending on who is reading and more importantly interpreting them.

    8) (in the words of ESPN) "Come on man" comparing Reggie and Andrew to Pat the punter... No thanks.

  7. lol, what? He gadly accepted the Franchise Tag. They will sign him to a contract Extension. He loves it here and hes probally a Top 5, top 10 Punter overall. I don't know what your watching. Maybe Pat has a clone somewhere, but hes not Selfish at all. I guess you hate Peyton because he does those all those commericals. Hes Promoting himself too.

WOW - There are many Pat lovers out here. I wasn't expecting the back lash? Oh well - Apples to oranges - No comparison to Peyton and his body of work and as a football player. Pat not a game changer, not someone to plan a game around and a PUNTER not a football player.

  8. i guess you don't know about all of the charity work he does in the community

And what does this mean? Absolutely nothing. Good for Pat and Great for his charity, but what does this change or what does this mean?

OJ Simpson and Aaron Hernandez had charities and did charity work too?

  9. It's not really opinionated. You're stating that he does a lot of things that show that he puts the "I" in team. However, that's obviously not the case. There was never any indication of him showing his selfish side. He's a fun loving open guy, nothing more, nothing less.

I don't think the FO franchised him because of "attitude problems", lol. I bet the television show also does not interfere at all with his schedule. He probably just shows up with the questions are written for him.

If you were really showing your opinion, then I wouldn't be as harsh. You're just stating things that aren't true.

Umm, yes I have stated my opinions and they are not harsh, only honest about how I feel and what I see. You say I state things that are not true... What did I say that is not true and can be proven? Again they are only my opinions, which by definition are not necessarily provable facts... only opinions?

Can you prove Peyton Manning is the greatest QB the league has ever seen? NO - Some people have the opinion that he is and others do not share the same opinion. It doesn't make one wrong and one correct, it simply is what it is.

Also you have begun changing my words or phrases - I said self-fish and self promoting (very specific), but i NEVER said "attitude problem" (very general) which you state I did above.

I am not looking for a fight. Obviously you are a big McAfee fan, that is great and more power to you. I simply am not.

  10. Welcome to the forum... very bad first post.

Thanks Andy. It's just my opinion. Obviously you don't agree, which is fine. I see Pat as a selfish side show, who promotes himself. He has also been falling short on the field recently with horribly short and shanked punts. Is this distraction due to the television show or is his new "punting" glove too tight?

I also would not overlook some possible reasons why our GM choose to franchise him on a 1 year deal versus sign to a longer contract? My guess is they are not overly thrilled with some of the aggressive self promoting, coupled with the fact that he is only a punter, not a game changer. Again, only my opinion on what I see.

  11. When did our "punter" start wearing his punters glove?

Not a big McAfee fan here... he is a punter and needs to leave the "all about Pat" distractions behind. I will say he does put the "I" in Team.

Jersey #1 with a horrible television show, punting/kicking glove and skinny jeans?
