Ya know, I think he went through absolute hell under Grigson and it wrecked his body, mind, and love for the game. Grigson was like a 16 year old getting the keys to a Ferrari. I hate how this happened, with the timing and false hope, but I can respect his need to prioritize everything else in his life over money.
Luck has made over $100 million, so i wouldn't say he chose anything over money. He's been paid by the fans, the franchise and the league for his services. The fans have a right to be emotional and react how they want, especially with the timing of it all.

Much more well spoken than Grigson.
Understatement... My pet rock is better spoken than Grigson or Pagano for that matter.

Doesn't matter. It's an unspoken rule amongst coaches. You don't interview for a job that isn't vacant.
If it's an unspoken rule, how do you know? Source please. Lol
Joking aside its silly to think one won't interview or it's somehow unethical to interview for a job that "isn't open" per the media. If the owner wants to interview for a specific position, then by all means it's open based on the owners intentions.
The contract has little to do with it, especially considering there are "outs" at a cost for both sides... trade, payment, etc.
People ethically interview for positions with others under contract every day, in every business. If the business wants an upgrade or change, it's their right to upgrade or change. If what they are doing goes against the contract, then there is language in the contract to address, with a some price to pay.
The same goes for coaches and others under contract. We see and hear it every year from the coaching ranks that so and so still has "blank" number of years on their contract, but they are moving to another team for a better opportunity. Again there is typically a price to pay and get out on their end too.
An NFL coaching job is as prestigious and high paying as it gets in the profession, especially when you consider there are only 32 of them available world wide.
Its a competitive and cut throat world out there and something most coaches want and will aggressively go after if/when the opportunity presents itself.

When the Colts went 8-8, they did so without Luck for 9 games and forced to go with their 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th string quarterbacks.
The fact that we went 8-8 should be viewed as a near heroic effort, not treated with disgust and disdained.
You go 8-8 in those circumstances and thats EXACTLY what they're paid to do.
Relax... No disgust or disdain, just merely pointing out the facts that they went 8-8 in the worst division.

try to keep up...the original argument was that he didn't try.
Clearly Jason S, you are the one not keeping up, my response was NOT to the original argument. Let me know if you need more help?

Big deal "he tried"... he's getting paid to succeed and win, period.

All respect to you Tracy, but they are not paid to be 8 and 8, especially in the worst division in the NFL.

If only I had $1 for every time a poster has claimed that Grigson has "refused for whatever reason" to build an offensive line. I'd be flipping rich!
Wrong.
2013, we spent big money on an OT, Cherilus... and OG, Thomas, and spent a 3 on Thornton and a 4 on Holmes. That hardly qualifies as "refusing to build an o-line"...
Turns out, we missed on 4 players. But that's not the same as not trying to build a line.
It was the first draft after Luck and the first free agency period where we could spend big money. Grigson made it his NUMBER ONE priority. We just missed on all four players. Sucks for us.
But the argument that Grigson ignored the line is simply not true.
Huh... From this it simply sounds like Grigson isn't very good at his job? A GM... A trained scout... and he played Oline in college. Fire Grigson and the pathetic Pagano! They have sold Iray a pile of ---- .

Pagano and Grigson... Their biggest football win was the sales job they did on Irsay the end of last season, not only to keep their jobs but get contract extensions!

As stated in the last thread, what make anyone think Manning is even interested in a GM position? He has not said that he is interested and I doubt he is.
He is more than likely happy doing what he is doing now. Being with his family, doing commercials and running his businesses.
Why this subject is even brought up dumbfounds me because there is no clues that Manning is interested in taking a job that will take his time away from what he is doing now.
Sounds like you know Peyton pretty well since he hasn't stated to you and you doubt he is interested? I am sure only his inner circle has a clue what he intends to do, if anything. He is a highly driven and successful person, which means it is very reasonable to think he is not finished with his career... Football career at that, from the business end, because this has been his life passion.
The thread is brought up because its reasonable opinion and a debatable topic, but for all the people to come on and imply they have a clue what is plans are to what he would like to do with his life, is in fact rediculous.
If you really want to be dumbfounded and amazed read and or watch the daily media and the ridiculous things they dream up for a story.

Well darn. Not sure how I missed that.
Bummer.
Go to the STR Marketplace on this website. You can sell your current seats, choose the available seats you like from other season ticket holders who are trying to sell. I have done this a couple of times with success finding the seats I want. Anonymous negotiating and sometimes you come across a reasonable deal? You then own the rights... kind of a back door seat license deal for the Colts, but more friendly to those who want to partake.

Link(s) to your ticket prices?

Easy Kenos... I didn't say that you did. At the end of your post you stated that you "respect his need to prioritize everything else in his life over money."
Which is fine if that's how you feel. You also stated other things which i did not respond to.
I simply disagreed with the end of your post and see it with a different opinion and stated "Luck has made over $100 million, so i wouldn't say he chose anything over money. He's been paid by the fans, the franchise and the league for his services. The fans have a right to be emotional and react how they want, especially with the timing of it all."
The rest is simply finishing my opinion on the unfair bashing of Indy fans by the national media and entitled players who don't think we the fans should have an opinion that might make them look bad. My post also agreed with your take on the poor timing of the entire situation.
