  1.  Wilson played Winning FB. Like Flacco the year before. I didn`t give credit to one position, get your head out.

Don`t think you get it AT ALL FB friend.

     MAYBE, this soaks in.

     Playoff Int.

     Wilson - Zero

     Luck?

     Excuses

    1.

    2.

    3.

    ...

This made zero sense. No idea what you're trying to say, regardless his defense and running game helps him tremendously. How many teams this season do you think beat the Saints with their QB only throwing for 102 yards? It's not excuses, just common sense, but keep looking at box scores.

  2. No, i`m talking about the decision making, accuracy kinda stuff. Cornerbacks etc, just can`t do HIS JOB ya know.

But thanks for the insight to what you think makes a SB Winning QB.

He didn't throw his 1st TD pass until the game was 29-0, please tell us more how it was all about the QB again? Stop giving all the credit to one position. Seattle won because they're overall a great team, not trying to discredit Wilson because I think he's really good, and will get better, but if you're just watching the QB position for the Seahawks then that's a shame.

  3. Half the quarterbacks? Playing half the season behind a patchwork offensive line decimated by injuries that was one of the worst in the league in pass protection? Playing without two top receivers for most of the season? Playing frequently against top tier defenses? Playing in the toughest division in the league where even a 12-4 record would have relegated the Seahawks to the wild card and three road playoff games? Playing three playoff games against teams with a combined 36-12 record?

    Not a chance.

I don't agree with HALF the league QB's can win with that team, but I can pick about 5 or 6 who would be just as successful as Wilson. A lot of the pressure he faced was because he was holding onto the ball, but that OL is not the best at pass protection. That WR group made plays, they may not be elite, but they were dependable.

  4. Sure.

Peyton's re-signing made him one of, if not the, highest paid QB in the NFL and the salary cap has gone up a bunch since then. Especially considering he was a #1 pick under the new CBA which means this is his first "big" contract.

Plus you have the NFLPA and all of that.

I like that you actually noticed I was seriously asking a question about something I wasn't aware of instead of giving a giving useless response lol.

  5. Hard for me to play this game, I'm glad we have both. Fleener has more athleticism IMO, but I'd take Allen because of his blocking and he seems to make catches in traffic. I always feel the judgement Fleener has faced from colts fans has been unfair.

  6. Some people here seem unable to get past a fantasy football mentality when judging QBs. If they aren't throwing the ball 35-40 times a game for 300+ yards that means they are mediocre and/or a game manager. It's nonsense.

Pete Carroll's philosophy is relatively simple. He believes if you do these three things you will win almost every time:

    1. Outhit the other team on every play.

    2. Create explosive plays on offense while limiting them on defense.

    3. Win the turnover battle.

Everything the Seahawks do is geared around accomplishing those three things. On offense that means a power running game that wears down defenses and establishes physical dominance. It also means a passing attack that heavily utilizes the play action pass and stretches the field with three or four deep shots per game. Although it emphasizes limiting turnovers it is no dink and dunk offense and utilizes the deep pass as effectively as any team on the league.

Carroll doesn't give a damn for fantasy football stats. He doesn't want his QB to throw more than about 25 passes in a game because that means the Seahawks are playing the game on their terms. If Luck was the Seahawks QB he would also be passing about 20-25 times a game for about 200 yards.

Carroll wants a balanced offensive attack that doesn't rely totally on the the QB to make it work and limits turnovers. He sees the QB position as the equivalent of a point guard who efficiently distributes the ball to playmakers and Wilson has been ideal at that. He's accurate, cool under pressure, a natural leader, and rarely makes mistakes. On top of that he can also improvise brilliantly and throws an accurate deep ball which optimizes the kind of explosive plays Carroll is looking for on offense. In other words, he's the ideal QB for Carroll's system. Would Luck be as good playing for the Seahawks? Maybe, but he would have to improve his accuracy and limit his turnovers more than he has so far to equal Wilson's productivity in that type of offensive scheme.

Russell Wilson is the unquestioned leader of a Super Bowl championship team. Those trying to denigrate him have no clue what they're talking about.

Oh there's no question about that. Teams in the NFL strive to have that type of balance, and Russell was drafted into the perfect situation. I think you're missing the point they're trying to make to you. I would much rather Luck being able to play in a situation where he doesn't have to carry the load, but the colts roster just isn't anywhere near what Seattle has. Carroll doesn't ask Wilson to do what Luck is because he simply doesn't have to, if Luck doesn't play well more than Likely colts lose. Excluding Wilson's SB performance, he was noticeably off target in games down the stretch (played against really good defenses), but Seattle is so balanced that they were able to hold on until he adjusted, but let Luck go on have a stretch like that for this current colts roster and there's a big chance they lose. It looks as if you're willing to give Wilson most of the credit for things he really has no effect on, or I could be reading things the wrong way. I'm just not a HUGE QB person, they're extremely important, but it's more to the game than just watching one position

  7. You're correct in one instance, it's not close.

    RG3 in much more talented.

So many people here try to attribute team success to QB ability. They are not mutually exclusive, but the correlation isn't nearly as pronounced as most fans make it out to be.

Seahawks used play action on at least 30% of Wilson's passes, and half of his TD's came on play action. He had a 120 passer rating when using play action...TEAM GAME!!

  8. It is true. Luck does have more passing yards as a result of almost 400 more career passing attempts, which is important if you're running a fantasy football team, but is a measure of volume rather than quality or efficiency. If passing attempts and yards were the measure of greatness Matthew Stafford would be a perennial All-Pro. By virtually every stat used to measure QB efficiency Wilson has not only been better than Luck, but significantly better. And he's done this while playing in the toughest division in the NFL rather than the weakest and while regularly facing much tougher defenses.

And you want to talk about playoffs? Playoffs? /Jim Mora voice

    Alright let's talk about playoffs:

    Russell Wilson: 4-1 record, 1 Super Bowl win, 63.08% comp, 6 TD, 1 INT, 102.0 QB rating, 8.43 Y/A

    Andrew Luck: 1-2 record, 55.00% comp, 6 TD, 8 INT, 70.0 QB rating, 7.59 Y/A

Wilson's career playoff numbers are actually slightly better than his regular season numbers while Luck's are markedly worse. Not only that, he just outplayed Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl. If Wilson's playoff performance has been the definition of pedestrian then Luck has been walking backwards against traffic.

Luck has the talent to develop into one of the top QBs in the league but he's not close to that yet and Wilson has been better so far by virtually every stat used to measure quarterback performance.

You also have to factor in what they're asking Wilson to do, his workload is light compared to Luck's. I think they were last or second to last in pass attempts for the season? I've watched games where that seahawks team has won in spite of Wilson having an off game, which is a good thing. I would like to know what Wilson's completion percentage is when they use play action, it has to be if not highest in the league, then at least top 5. QB win-loss records is an annoying stat, Seahawks won games not because elite QB talent, but balance. Special teams and defense gives Wilson great starting field position.

  9. Of course I can. Luck is a more finished product and closer to his top ability and he may already be there. Tannehill played a different position up to about three years ago. He is just learning to play QB on the job. Therefore, he will get a lot better than he is now. It wasn't meant as a shot to Luck, just that Tannehill is much farther from his peak than Luck.

You know this is Luck's top ability based on what?........

  10. TBH it's not a big deal to me I was just making a point

Collie was a Colt now he's not where's the interest ??? I'm not trying to come off as anal but I'm pretty sure Peyton for the most part is held higher in everyone else's eyes than Collie but what team does he play for oh ... Not the Colts

We play Dwight this year to should I start making threads about every former Colt we play ? No why bc that's stupid plain and simple

Actually I think there was a thread about Freeney signing to the chargers, and I wasn't around when Peyton left, but I'm sure there were plenty of threads about him. No one is comparing Collie to Peyton or Freeney, but that doesn't mean he didn't have fans? Just ignore the thread then lol

  11. This is the Internet calm down and stop thinking difference in opinion is hate ... That's stupidity

Who cares if alot of people loved Collie he's not on this team ... Don't Care it's a place for non Colts

Do you want Joseph Addai threads everywhere because he can't find a job

Do you want Mike Hart threads about his heart being bigger than his talent pinned at the top of the page

Do you want a game log of every Peyton Manning stat line since he left the Colts in the Colts section

... and I for one am a big Peyton, Collie and Joe Addai fan but they don't play for my team it sucks but on to the next

None of those threads exist, though? It's an interesting topic, and he was a fan favorite with a lot of people. I don't see what the big deal is? lol

  12. he didn't have any concussions last year. Many players have had more concussions than Austin. I don't know why so many people think this is rare

he had a concussion against the steelers in the pre season game.

  13. Here you go, Brian:

The Colts are fools gold. Almost all of their wins were close, nail biting affairs. Their biggest wins of the year were 20-13 scores over the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. All things even out over time, so I expect their close games to start going the other way more often.

More like Fool's Logic...he didn't say anything that I don't see on twitter from people who didn't watch a single colts game last year.
