  1. Please, for the love of everything we hold dear, fire that *ic OC. I seriously hate that man. For 3 years he hhs been trash, for 3 years we have had to deal with slow starts and watching a run game that doesn't exist try to be forced. I bet he is sitting there after this loss thinking he had done a great job, that TWO RUNS with near 2 minutes left was the right thing to start a drive at the 20 yard line. Bet he's so proud of himself that we finally got some success in the run. News flash pep, we lost because of you and your trash philosophy. Go back to college, this is a big boys game and you look like a child.

Yes I know the refs screwed us. Yes the run was working before. But you just should never run twice in the situation we were in. My wife doesn't completely understand football, but even she said that was dumb, why not let luck throw it.

Hey pep, there's something you should go do to yourself.

Btw, Pep has only been here two seasons. The first season was Bruce Arians.

  2. PEP NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!!!

    Trent Richardson is a BUST

And Andrew Luck throws some of the dumbest passes you've ever seen

Huh? He had a great game except for the fumble.

If you're going to say he's a bust for the fumble, then so is Luck for the int he threw in the 4th quarter.

No, the real villain is Pep and the D.

  3. It is not a coincidence that the Colts are always behind in the first half. Inside running, passing from under center, 3 TE formations will not get it done with the current personnel. You have to spread the offense out FROM THE SHOTGUN for the majority of the whole game (not just when down multiple scores), work the short passing game (take shots when available), draws, screens, pick plays etc.

Yet that will also put more pressure on the o line. Andrew is getting hit way too much.

One thing I would suggest is pick up Pat Kerwin's book "Take Your Eye Off The Ball". In it, he describes how OTAs work, how the team practices so many plays out of the play book and they pare it down to a set of plays. Those plays have been done over and over again. By the time regular season comes around, you have a set number of plays and trying to add a new one in is next to impossible.

Then, actually do as Pat states. Take your eye off the ball. Start watching how the o-line blocks, how the d-line rushes. Watch what happens. It's not all "smash mouth". There are moves, there are different gaps to fill or attempt to exploit. There are adjustments that must be made on the fly as the play progresses . it actually is very complex. Each person has an assignment and they must fulfill that assignment, and be able to adjust to what happens.

The defense must try and out-guess what the offense is doing. Then, they must react to it.

The offense knows the routes to start with, but based on the coverage, that could change. Adjustments by the receivers on passing plays must be made and the receiver and the QB must be on-page with it. Why do you think Peyton to Marvin and Reggie was SO well formed that they could just look at each other and know what adjustment to make? That came from YEARS of practicing together away from the practice field and from experience on the field.

However, if you have players that just cannot "get it" or haven't been in the starting line up for long (such as Trent), it does become very difficult to just drop in and play. Yes, the Pats somehow do it. It just depends on the personnel you have.

The Colts have lost two starting RBs, a pretty good TE, offensive linemen that have been shuffled around, etc.

Now, the D is different. THAT is just bad, period.

But in the end, as it was once said, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. The Colts have the players they've been dealt with. It's just like in poker or in Euchre (ace no face). You have the hand dealt and you have to work with it or fold. You can't do much else. You can TRY to improve the hand by getting some more from the pile/deck (free agency, practice squad), and you MIGHT get lucky and pull a gem or two out, but in the end, usually there's nothing there and you end up with just as bad a hand or worse.

So goes it with the Colts. They are what they are this season after the injuries. No amount of coaching is going to fix it.

As upset as I've been with the team, we still have a fairly good nucleus once it gets healed up.

I'm not ready to write off the coaches or the players.

  4. T-Rich is still learning. A lot has to do with trusting your o-line and learning their blocking schemes.

A case in point was brought up on NFL network, I believe. It really explained what is going on.

In one play, they showed the difference between when Bradshaw made a huge run. In that moment, you see how he waited patiently for the o-line to make it's blocks, made a move/shift, and busted a huge gain.

They then showed TR in the same formation. In this case, he wasn't patient, didn't wait for the blocks and instead tried to run through the blocks. In other words, he didn't allow the play to develop, resulting in him not being able to make a huge gain.

It all comes down to learning the offense and I think that's what's going to take some time for him. Yes, he ran in Cleveland, but based on blocking schemes, etc, each offense can be different and it can take time to learn that scheme and take advantage of it.

But, what I DO like with TY is that the guy doesn't quit trying to run and even though he's averaging less than 4 ypc, he's getting positive yards, and he seems to be money when it comes to short-yardage situations, just like when he busted through for a goal - line TD. Remember in the past when Edge (and I love him and will always be thankful the Colts drafted him), but when they went 4 and out at the goal line, it just didn't happen. Again, that can also be due to the front-line not executing it's blocks effectively, but it seems since then, the Colts have had issues on short-yardage situations.

With AB, DB and TR, I think the Colts finally have a power running game that speaks volumes. I mean, look at what has happened - 5 games in a row with 100+ yards rushing. When was the last time THAT happened?

  5. The idea was dumb to begin with because they knew players used pink towels. Not that many teams use yellow towels. Why not just give the refs pink uniforms that would be hilarious. But bring back yellow flags and give coaches the red flags back too.

When Pagano threw out the challenge flag, it was red, not pink.
