[Who Should the Colts Draft?]

Draft is the third piece of the puzzle. Free agency to sign free agents outside your team and re-signing your own free agents has to take place before the draft.

 

There is something called a weighted BPA, BPA at position of need. If need and value intersect with a better weighted number, I am pretty certain most GMs will go the weighted BPA route.

If we add few pieces to the puzzle and when we are on board we will take the BPA based on need. If we have OL and CB with the same grade we would take a CB. As 1 round player should be blue chip player who can play immediately. If we have say any position except QB with first round grade and CB/OL with 2 round grade we would go with BPA and not reach for OL/CB.

[DB or O-Line?]

I think best would be DE/DT as we can get a top 10 caliber player in this draft for that position.

Corners the only guy with 1st round caliber is milliner and he will be long gone. I don't think we will reach for need but go with BPA.

The way the draaft is shaping up and owing to our philoshophy it think we will take either DT/DE.

Gil Brandt has us taking Margus Hunt and i like him.

Hmmm. I wanted to respond as soon as i saw this thread but i waited to see what everyone had to say.

After reading through 166 messages i still could not change my initial response.

my 2 cents :

First of all you cannot compare stats between qb's playing in different conferences, against different defenses and employing different offensive philosophies.

Reason being it is not accurate to judge every throw, scenario and playcalling.

Luck is being treated as 5 year NFL veteran quaterback by Arians and RG3 has been handled by shanahan as if he was still playing at Baylor.

However fact is that RG3 has exceeded expectations, while Luck seems to be boderline OK as far as expectations go.

Now people forget that Luck had unrealistic expectations and RG3 had moderate expectations.

On a scale of 10 Luck was expected to score 12 and RG3 6.

So enjoy both of them and be excited as football fans.
