Makes sense for the Colts but not for Manning, i think parting of the ways is in the interest of both Colts and Manning. These seem reasonable to me, if we are building for the future.
-
I am a Manning fan and i think this is good for him and also for the Colts. If he can play somewhere near his usual level there are a few teams out there that he will turn instantly into winners and the Colts will get to rebuild with Luck at the helm.I have been supporting the Colts for 8 yrs now and i will still root for them as long as they are not playing agains Peyton's team.
-
I became a Colts fan because of Peyton so i will be rooting for Peyton but since i have been following the Colts for the last 8 yrs, i have become a little attached to them and will be cheering for them as long as they are not going against Peyton.

How is it obvious that his throwing ability hasn't returned? As you said there have been no updates so for now this is just your assumption. I do think all signs point to him not being in Indy even if he is healed and if that's the case he will try to play somewhere else.

I would say that the team won the game, they made the plays when needed. In almost every game there are dicey calls for and against the 2 teams, in this case since it was the last drive they just stick in the mind.

Not the kind of news i wanted to read on monday morning ):
-
I guess the fact that people are reading his article and debating serves his purpose.
-
Like couple of posters have already said, right now Rodgers is the best.

Don't even joke about it.
It means that Nevis is ready to play again while Matthews has been holding his own - and they needed to clear a spot for the new TE without putting Clark or Eldridge on IR. I would fall off my chair if the Colts signed Haynesworth. He is a walking attitude problem, and hasn't been an exceptional player in a very long time now.
I think so too i.e. Nevis is ready but at this point how does it hurt to give Hayensworth a shot? We can't get any worse and maybe a miracle happens he likes the Indy air, settles down and starts playing great and next year we have Manning back and 2 stud DTs

Could this mean Hayensworth is coming to town?

This comment was made just to grab some attention, Manning's main job is to plan and prepare for the win now. My opinion is that Manning plays a big role in determining the offensive game plan every week whereas Brady has a lesser input as Belichick does most of the game planning so probably Brady has more time to play the mentor. Also mentoring is a 2 way street not questioning or doubting Painter's attitude but the amount of effort the person being taught puts in also has a big impact on how much they learn.

As per the stats in the article it's Collie who is having trouble catching the ball and for the most part he has been invisible on the field. At this point it doesn't hurt to give Gonzalez a chance in place of Collie.

This is going to be a long night for the D :sadno:

I am a Peyton Manning fan and that's what made me a colts fan. Earlier i used to dislike Brady just because i was a Manning fan and wanted Brady to fail. But over the years i have realized that both are special and great role models. They took different paths, Manning was always labelled the next great one and had pressure to prove that label and to play to everyone's expectations while Brady came into the league with the altogether different type of pressure, not many people had great expectations from him or saw him beyond a back up at best. Both of them have common traits of "winners" , they are intelligent, hard working and don't go out to grab attention. I think both of them have directly and indirectly made each other better with a healthy competition.
I still root for Manning and wish for him to come back and have great seasons and super bowl wins but i no longer dislike Brady, whenever i watch a NE game i admire his poise and the way he shreds the opposite team, (Although i must admit that i also enjoy when he fails, which recently has been very rare).
Personally i will take Manning over Brady every time, like people have already pointed out this is a never ending debate with good arguments from both sides.

Rodgers in definitely among the top 2-3 QBs playing right now but to be considered in the best ever debate he needs to play at this level for another 7 - 8 yrs.

This is his style, make outrageous comments so that people come and read his columns. I read his columns, they are entertaining that's all mostly they have no substance.

On paper without Peyton we are underdogs against the Texans but not so against the other division teams. Texans will be under pressure and the Colts will all have a chip on their shoulders, we can win this one.
-
Great to hear something positive between all doom and gloom, i hope and wish Peyton has 100% recovery football can come later.
-
I got your point, i think its just too early to try and put a positive spin on this. If he is indeed out for the season then maybe 3-4 weeks down the line we all will accept this and then if what you outlined transpires we will take this not as bad as right now.
-
A season ending injury to our best player can in no way be a blessing, atleast thats what i think.
-
I hope this is not true, it will be hard to watch a full season of football without Peyton playing. What i dont understand is why cant the team come out and say what is going on one way or the other? Do they get any advantage out of all this speculation? If they give daily updates there wont be any rumours flying around, in my opinion this is unfair to the fans.
-
Don't know, don't care he will always be my favorite football player.
-
How i wish that is true but right now i won't bet on it.

i hope is fine, it is hard to watch him get hit on the head every other game.
