  1. I'm hearing the same thing repeated and perhaps overreacting to it, but.....

In the 24 hours since Sunday's first game I've heard dozens of real pure pundits say that they're not going to overreact to the 'plus side' aspects of the Colts win because:

    1.) It was the Rams.

2.) The coverages were 'vanilla' (by the way, what are chocolate coverages?)

3.) It was just one exhibition game.

I think its fair to ask that if Andrew Luck had gone 4-for-8 for 27 yards and an interception, and the Colts had lost 38-3, would the responses still have been the same?

    ...what do you think?

Agreed! Some members would have pounced right on it unfortunately!

  2. Wow, are you serious? I thought the defense was pretty darn good, being a brand new system and a bunch of new guys. Could they be better? Of course, but a few weeks into a brand new scheme, well, I think you're being a bit harsh. However, I do think McKinney needs to be starting at NT, but I've said that all along. AJ, is just not very good.

The only way they could have done better is by giving up 0 points......

  3. Let us paraphrase. I hope the Colts do better than 9-10. Our team is not top heavy anymore, IMO, talent wise and salary wise. That is going to help immensely. Luck's rookie contract, at least the first 4 years, gives us the most of chances to be competitive, salary cap wise. Those kinds of luxuries were not to be had in Peyton era.

7 one and dones is a joke for a team that won 10 plus so many years in a row....it wasn't a shot at Peyton, it WAS a shot at the former management ;)

  4. People need to move past the whole Peyton thing. He was here and now he's not. We won't forget what he done for the Colts, but we have a great new young QB that people should be excited about. Stop with the comparisons.

Exactly! I just hope Luck can do better than 9-10 in the playoffs with 7 one and dones!!! That will make me VERY happy!

  5. Don't know about the above. Differfent ways to look about the "dominance you talk about. I credit it to Peyton Manning and not Bill Polian. Just for the record , I don't give cudos for Polian for drafting Manning over Leaf. That was more of a media thing and it was well known that if any one of the big three really considered Leaf , it was Polian. Mora and Irsay were about 125% Manning . I just think that 1 SB in 13 years of PM was not a testimonial for Bill Polian. If I were to grade him , I would give him good (not great marks) for the years leading up to his last 5-6 years. Then a solid F- for the there after. Maybe blame it on Chris ? Dunno.

I also think you have "blended" Faulk and Harrison into the Polain era. You probably realize that he didn't draft either player , so I don't why they would be included. Bill did pull the trigger on trading Faulk for a 2nd and a 5th.

    Agreed!

  6. Wasn't Allen considered the more complete TE coming out and was actually rated as a better TE than Fleener by many scouts? I've never been sold on Fleener and I still think Upshaw would have been a better pick. Hopefully, Fleener proves me wrong

Yes, i remeber you and I breifly speaking about it after the draft.....I likened him to marcus pollard, with my fingers crossed of course ;)!

  7. Jerry did good, I dont know if its enough to warrant keeping him past this year, he showed some real good out there Im just looking for it consistently thats what I meant its hard to see between the heat burning ya up, sweat dripping in your eyes, people constantly walking back and forth in front of ya, On a side note I got Robert Mathis, Josh Chapmans, Jeff Linkenbachs and Anthony Castonzos autograph today as well as Jerrell Freeman

Thanks for the updates! Btw, who seems to be lining up in the starting defensive front line? I assume McKinney(sp?) at NT and Redding at DE/DT ....who is the third so far? Thanks for any help with this :)
