At this point, it's probably a stretch, but I'm still hoping that Ta'amu is there for us at our next pick. I was surprised to see him still there when Day 2 ended, so we'll see. There will be some solid defensive players tomorrow for us though.

I absolutely love these picks!! And I am a big advocate of building the lines on both sides of the ball, running the ball better, and stopping the run. However, TE was a glaring weakness. These picks will have a domino affect. TY Hilton's speed will stretch the defense, which softens the middle for the TEs and also makes the running attack more effective.
This is a deep draft for OLineman,
I would love to get WR Marvin McNutt from Iowa if he is available in the 5th.
Oh man, I hear ya on Marvin McNutt. That would be awesome. The way this draft is shaping up, he could be picked up later than that. Tomorrow is going to be great, I'm loving this draft so far!

I think we still take the top DE/OLB regardless but I still don't believe we are trading Freeney. I don't know the numbers exactly but I don't think we gain that much cap space if we trade that.
-
No, we don't need a #1 this year but it'd be nice. Robert Woods looks appealing next year but we will have to see how his season goes. Our 3rd or 4th round picks could net us a very solid WR that could be a #2 guy I believe.

Martin looks very impressive, breaks tackles and excellent vision. Doubt he falls to the 3rd but if he does, that's excellent value at that pick.

Thursday will be my last day of classes at college, so I'll get a drink or two then enjoy the draft that weekend before finals week.

I really like this mock as well, especially the Janoris Jenkins pick. That kid can be great for us and I believe, if he truly is fixing his off the field issues, that he would be a steal at 34.
-
If Janoris Jenkins is there at 34, it'd be very tough to pass him up. We know in the Polian era he probably wouldn't even be looked at that high but it'll be interesting to see how much we value character in the earlier rounds now that we have Grigson and Pagano.

I'm so pumped after reading that, is it April 26th yet?

Go watch some games that he's excelled in. Go look at the Northwestern game, the Indiana game, the Michigan game, and the Purdue game. I saw all those games from start to finish, and he showed me that not only is he a deep threat, but he has the ability to be a good possesion receiver. He has good hands, good speed and his routes are solid, really solid.
If you look online, you'll probably find some Youtube videos of him. Watch those and be amazed. He's one of the most underrated players in this draft along with Cordy Glenn, Brian Quick, and Stephen Hill.
Thanks, I definitely will! This draft for receivers is very interesting to me because it will show if we're going for the larger receivers or continue with the 6 footers with speed. This draft can't come soon enough.

I didn't know too much about AJ Jenkins but you guys are starting to sell me on him. If we get him or McNutt I'd be very happy.
-
Poe just screams workout warrior to me. Wasn't consistent at Memphis but you could say it's because he was always double teamed. There's always the other side of the coin to these arguments. That being said, it'd be tough to pass on him/ perhaps worth the risk at 34.
-
I'd say Chris Owusu as well. Why not grab a player that Luck has familiarity with?
-
I just want to have a defense that teams start to respect. If we start to put the right players into a stronger scheme (which the 3-4 has shown to be in recent years) I believe we will in a few years. Or maybe that's the optimism talking.
-
What do you guys think of Marvin McNutt in the later rounds? He's a solid receiver with solid hands and good size. I'd be very happy if we got him, coud be a steal.
-
Very interesting going with a RB at #34. Never really thought about that. I'm still pulling for Fleener or one of the top defensive players that will inevitably fall out of the 1st round.
-
I believe there's a solid chance of Fleener being at #34. The only thing I worry about is the time between round 1 and round 2. Teams have all day to regroup and perhaps trade with the Rams for someone who has fallen out of the 1st round. This is similar to what the Jets did at the top of the 3rd round to get Shonn Greene.
What was the one player that you really wanted today?
