  1. you came to a judgement on a guy after exactly 1:00 minutes worth of tape?....you missed what is a pretty good 4:00 other minutes.....including a sack...a couple Stuffs and pressures...He is an undrafted project, what do you expect

I went back and watched the whole 6 mins still not impressed. I would like to see the whole game that tells you what kind of player he really is. Your not going to convince me that his competiton was anything close to what he will see in the nfl. We can agree to disagree I don't want to argue about it.

  2. He is not Ngata good and he is really LAZY. He is explosive off the snap but shows no wiliness to pursue the play down field. Got lucky that the rb tripped the OL for the sack. Colorado didn't feel that they needed to double him consistently from those highlights. He will drop in to the late 1st or early 2rd imo. There were guys that went in the 3rd this year much better. The comparison to Ngata is undeserved and a insult for that matter.

  3. I think Peyton is going to struggle next year. Tough schedule and Denver's draft moves and choices were head-scratchers to me. Yeah, they got their DT, but was Derek Wolfe the best DT available to them?

Wolfe was the most productive DT in college football last year with 70 tackles, 21.5 tak for loss and 9.5 sacks. Wolfe will be a anchor for their DL for years to come. The guy has a motor that does not stop and has a good nasty streak in him. I wish he was a Colt personally.

  4. No, we need Luck to stay upright and instead we drafted a one dimensional TE instead of a 1st round G/T. Before you get bent, remember that if he does not have time to throw, Fleener will not get a ball. Thought we were going Best Player Available, not tell the NFL that Luck was not worth the !st overall pick.

Much like Peyton was, I believe Luck will know where he is going with the ball before the snap. His ability to read a defense at the college level was way above average. He will take some lumps in year one like Peyton did but I never bought into the fact the Colts had a great OL ever. Peyton had much to do with making guys look like Pro Bowlers, the proof was their play last year. IMO

  5. So was Marivn Harrison for that matter..speed kills! By the way I was not sugggesting the Colts take him in the 2nd round I should have clarified that. He is projected in the 4th or 5th round. Which would free the Colts up to take a TE or DB in the 2nd was my thinking. He is a high value pick in the 4th or 5th round.

  6. Mel Kiper has us signing defensive lineman Kendall Reyes in the second round.

    Overall Football Traits

Production 2 "2007: Redshirt. 2008: (11/4) 20 tackles (3 TFL), 1.5 sacks. 2009: (13/12) 37 tackles (6 TFL), 3 sacks. 2010: (13/13) 39 tackles (10 TFL), 2.5 sacks. Career: 2 INT, 6 PBU." Height-Weight-Speed 3 Below average but adequate weight. Average height and above average top-end speed. Durability 2 "Injured ankle during 2008 Louisville game and missed North Carolina game the following week. However, has appeared in 37 games with 29 starts. " Intangibles 2 Named team captain for 2010 season. Has lined up at defensive end and defensive tackle.

    Defensive Tackle Specific Traits

Versus the Run 2 Could play with better pad level at times but rarely gave ground one-on-one and flashed ability to anchor against double teams despite lack of ideal size. Flashed ability to drive blocker into the backfield and can force back to redirect. Strong and can lift interior offensive linemen off their feet when wins the battle of leverage. Capable of stacking and shedding in a two-gap scheme. Above average instincts for an interior defensive lineman and located the ball quickly. Above average range for an interior defensive lineman and can make plays outside the tackle box. Pass Rush Skills 3 Too much of a one-dimensional power rusher at this point. Shed blocks quicker as a run defender than did as a pass rusher. Doesn't close as well as some other defensive tackles in class but has enough quickness and agility to develop into a productive interior pass rusher at the next level. Quickness (hands/feet) 2 "Above average first-step quickness for size. Showed above-average lateral mobility when scraping down the line of scrimmage. More than athletic enough to make a success transition to 5-technique in a base three-man front. Effective hand fighter that can shoot hands inside and lock on before most offensive linemen are able to lock onto his frame. However, could be more violent with hands when rushing the passer. " Toughness/Motor 2 Doesn't give much ground or back down in phone booth. Chased outside runs. Made plays with second effort and played hard late in blowout loss to Michigan in 2010. Inconsistent motor but fatigue may be bigger issue than work ethic.

Hopefully Grigson has a Bill Tobin attitude towards Kiper and Wolfe is available instead.

  7. Watching both Luck and Peyton in college, I was always more impressed with Luck as a college QB. Arm strength to many times is confused with touch and ball placement. Luck has the tools and the brains to be a great one plus he is overall a better athlete than Peyton ever thought of being. When I think of what this staff might want out of a QB Luck can manage a game and make few mistakes in this offense. Get him signed on the dotted line!

  8. Some of you really think we're switching to a 3-4 defense and a big bodied NT is needed. That's fine, but I think we're still going to stick with a hybrid type of defense. We're trying to get young and rebuild. I think we're leaving one guy out of the mix and that's Brandon Thompson. He is that tackle we need next to Nevis.

A06...don't take this the wrong way, but from what I have seen of Thompson I was not impressed by him at all. He basically got destroyed by one of the worst offensive lines in the Big East in the Orange bowl.

Mike Martin is a high motor guy and just nasty inside and Derek Wolfe even played NT in a 3-4 at Cincy and has the versatilality to play DE with great size. There is depth at NT in this draft, I just hope the Colts don't waste a pick on a guys like Thompson or Worthy they both take to many plays off. A under the radar guy that not many are talking about is John Hughs out of Cincy. The guy was a complete beast last season and would be a bargain in later rounds or as a UDRFA to build depth. IMHO

I have trolled on the board the last few weeks and have really enjoyed the forums so far and look forward to contributing.
