I had a chance to tailgate with Eric at the Indy 500 this year, and he really is a good guy...funny as heck as well, and told lots of stories (mostly about Freeney). I very much wish him a speedy recovery.

I forgot about Staton, he wouldn't be bad, but I don't think that he has enough experience to really help...collins on the other had, just makes so much sense at this point.

Ok here are my thoughts. There are two types of Vets that we could get...1) a backup on a current team, or 2)a Vet that is out there still looking for a team.
Regarding 1) my top picks would be Jon Kitna, Billy Volek, or Sage Rosenfals
For the 2nd option I would look to Jeff Garcia, or Daunte Culpepper....you know Jeff George still wants to play...lol just kidding.
Thoughts?

I would rather have Ward or Mason in that bunch...is Robert Mechum still out there...if so I would take him.

I actually just hung out with Foster a few months ago, and unless he added 20 plus lbs in muscle or fat in a matter of two months I doubt he is 285. (Not trying to brag about meeting him, as it was just happen stance.)

Haynesworth not even close...and Albert's cap number this year is $5 million not $14...when you trade a player the previous team pays the player's guaranteed money.

Ok so do we go and try to pick this guy up and hope that he can drop some weight quick? It might be a good way to transition to AC...thoughts?

I agree with the deep threat, but actually like Malcom Floyd better than Edwards...plus Floyd will come much cheaper that Edwards.

The thought is that a line should give a QB at least 4 seconds to get rid of the ball. I just heard on the radio last week, that it was looked at and on average Peyton only held the ball for 2 seconds! So obviously there won't be many sacks if Peyton is getting rid of the ball in 2 secs on average. However, that bogs down the whole offense...it means that we aren't stretching the field (as it takes awhile to run deep patterns), so that keeps the D bunched up along the line of scrimmage...which then also negatively impacts the running game. It is all interconnected.

Difference between 16 and 23 is HUGE! Heck Mark Sanchez costs the Jet 14 million...so a 16 million cap number for Peyton is pretty good. As for the guys mentioned to replace...Hayden, Sanders, and CJ were all hurt for much of last year, so replacing their production from last year shouldn't be that difficult.
When Is A. Luck going to get signed?

Also, what is going on with Fleener and Allen? I know everything is still early, but why wait at this point?
