  1. hyperbaric oxygen would be almost as useless as those magnetic bracelets, but would be more expensive. Great use of a thread. Please close this.

Why do people automatically condescend when they don't agree with someone else's post? Very condescending and pointless response, nsurg. Thank you so much for having no valid input here.

  2. I think that if T.O. is willing to come to Indy on a one-year contract, the Colts should pull the trigger. Although Owens has been known to cause problems for teams in the past, I feel that he is at the point of his career where he knows he isn't "the star" on a given team anymore. Working with a winner like Peyton Manning might entice T.O. to keep his mouth shut and be a productive veteran presence on the team. As far as addressing the backup QB situation, there are a few guys that would be interesting to think about. I thought Caleb Hanie played fairly well in the playoffs last year after Cutler went down with an injury and kept the Bears competitive during the game, although I'm not sure how much I'd be prepared to give up for him. As mentioned above, Flynn looks like he may have potential, but again, we don't want to give up too much for a QB to sit on the bench and develop for the next few years. I'd be comfortable giving up a second or third round draft pick to get either of these guys. Finally, two guys to keep an eye on would be Dennis Dixon, who has flashed signs of brilliance with the Steelers, and free agent Troy Smith. Smith made some great plays for a less-than stellar San Francisco team last year and I feel that he would make a better QB than Curtis Painter if Manning ever had to miss time.

IMO... just my opinion, folks, I'm not a professional... I would personally say H*LL NO to T.O. I think he would be too much of a distraction and not really worth the hassle... Caleb Hanie, on the other hand, I would welcome him to the team... I feel that he is a capable, quality backup QB... starter? not on a regular basis, but if we absolutely had to have him start a game or two, sure... I feel that he definitely has the skill set to handle the situation and perform.

    H*LL NO to T.O.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Good stuff agreed with most, but Austin Collie will never be a #1 WR in the NFL.

I disagree with this statement... the guy came out of nowhere to put up the numbers that he has... He definitely has as much of a shot as any other WR out there...

I agree with the Brandstater argument, too!

  4. You can not possibly be serious! This is his 3rd yr. in the league and he has showed no improvement what so ever.

I understand where you are coming from totally, however, to be on the fair side of things... painter hasn't really gotten the opportunity to play aside from the preseason... I am NOT by any means a supporter or defender of painter!!! He definitely is NOT our replacement plan for PM when that time comes... I'm just saying that you can't really judge his improvement or decline at this point because the guy rides the bench, he doesn't play... I have told my wife many many times that if anything bad ever happens, we are in serious trouble, but the bottom line really is that the guy has zero experience in the NFL... I wouldn't really say the Colts messed up, though, they drafted him to be a backup, and in college he put up respectable numbers (not amazing, but respectable)... oh well, it is what it is

  5. You know, I seem to remember all of these sports "writers" counting us out in 2006 and 2009 as well (every year, actually)... It really seems to be a trend... you always see something about "colts on the decline" or is this the year the colts miss the playoffs... It irritates the heck out of me... but, I love the fact that we just keep doing what we do and continue to make the playoffs... (granted, not the best playoff record out there, but oh well) Folks, mark my words.... This is the year of the :coltslogo: !!!! Superbowl Bound, baby!!!!!

  6. A motivated Moss would be a great acquisition... however, a healthy Gonzo would also be a great thing to have, which is why I believe a lot of people (including myself) were expressing the desire to sign Moss.... gonzo is a great receiver, however, with his health, he is kind of turning into a Bob Sanders... If he stays healthy, he will put up great numbers, he will be one of the Colts elite, however, it hasn't looked too promising in the last couple seasons...

  7. I think I'm half foolish when it comes to defensive formations... lol :catfight:

I am so tired of seeing the headline on nfl.com or espn.com asking if the colts are on the decline! :pullhair:

these people need to realize what caliber team they are talking about. Look, we may not have the highest paid players in the league, or even the best run defense (or whatever), but these guys get things done... again let's point out last year's season, so what we lost to the Jets in the wild card round, who cares? Where were probably 70-80% of our starters? that's right, IR... and look what we were able to do with our backups and even 3rd stringers... playoffs 9 years in a row... looking at a league record setting 10 yrs this year... I don't think the Colts will be on the decline for at least another 5 years... after that we'll just see what happens!

    :colts: :trophy:

  8. I definitely happy with the way things are looking right now, but I think that if we somehow acquired asante samuel, I would be ecstatic! I've heard people say he won't fit into our system, but systems were made to be modified when necessary... besides a strong player like that couldn't hurt at all!

  9. Superbowl in Indy, here we come!!!!! Making smart moves, now these guys have to make a play for it on the field... I know they will... Oh, one of the bleacher report writers (forgot his name now) predicted the Browns to upset the Colts week 2 this year, just so you all know. (personally, I think anything's possible, but I don't see that happening)

  10. regardless of what others say or what the logic behind it is (lol) Asante Samuel would be an awesome addition to the Colts roster... I don't believe that they are working a trade with this newly acquired players, though. Everyone keeps saying that the colts won't invest the money into a player like Samuel, but how do you know? To the best of my knowledge, Chris Polian is running the show this year... he's already doing things differently than in the past... I guess only time will tell... Here's to a great season, guys!!!!
