I've noticed but so far a few of the teams in that top 15 list don't belong so that list isn't exactly "telling"... I don't expect Tolzien to be a TD machine but I also don't expect him to turn the ball over alot.. So I can see that helping our defense just a little bit it more.

I don't know.. from my judgement, Tolzien has a few bonehead throws each game that could be easy pickin's for any defense - like that throw that went straight to Shazier at Pittsburgh last week. I'd feel better about our chances with Morris. He seems to protect the ball as well as Tolzien (Morris also has a few bad throws each game) but he also has 2 or 3 quite impressive throws each game to counter the bad. I don't see very many impressive throws from Tolzien, but maybe that's just me

I was hearing we had like 21.6 million left I would try to restructure that contract though.

I'd pass. The way dominate teams are formed isn't by trading for players other teams want to get rid of, especially not for anything with six or more 0's before the decimal or shipping off draft picks for them (cough- Trent Richardson). A constant swinging door of bringing in inexpensive youth (Draft, UDFA's, roster cuts, etc.) and paying only the right players for the right price is how you get to be a dominant team for more than 3 years. The way Ballard is forming this roster on what he can currently control is suggesting he's doing just that: finding value players and not over-paying for mediocrity.

Browns are ranked 6th right now... Shows those stats mean almost nothing.

If you missed the last couple drafts though, Cleveland went heavy on defense with their card deck of (very high) draft picks. I don't see them staying ranked 6th this year, but against not-as-good QBs in the league, I think those young players will do well for them. It's when they face QB's with more league experience and know how to look at more than one guy on the field each play that they'll struggle against early. But if Luck isn't back by week 3, I don't expect Tolzien to be putting ANY points on the board in that game. At least not any for us.

P.S. How's that for a post on a "Dead Last" thread? Fearing a loss to the Browns...

  4. Whoever posted that article about finding the next dynasty by history -- One team in specific comes to mind when reading the headline: "Amassing talent quickly." Cleveland. So many high draft picks recently and in the near future. If they get a good QB and their coaches can get those young players meshing together and playing well and disciplined, they might surprise people. Then again, I personally don't have the most (or any) faith in their management & coaching decisions. But the Ravens have fell off since Ray Lewis retired, the Steelers don't have the run game and big defense approach that worked so well in January anymore and the Bengals... no telling what state they're in except the fact they can't win a playoff game if they get there.  I don't think it's too far fetched to think the Browns have a shot to at least challenge for their division in the near future - provided they find good QB play and Coaching

Agreed on everything. While I was impressed with ST last game, to deny Morris' presence at QB is just dumb. He has played very well. As another poster stated, Tolzien is the safer player going 1St read more often. While Morris has played against backups, often from behind. Which would lead me to expect if ST starts at LAR, he should be on a short leash. I am not opposed to rotating Qbs, if we can use both to their strengths. I am aware how unorthodox it is, and how you need fantastic coaching to pull it off. When done correctly using match-ups, as well as the hot hand, could help get W's until Luck's return.

I'd say Morris outright.. but I, too, could see coach using each to their "strengths" and rotating them based on game situation, like we did with Ryan Lindsay and Josh Freeman a couple years ago in the regular season finale
