  1. You have no way of knowing if this is going to turn out as a bad pick. That is your opinion and everyone's differ and none of them are facts. The Colts thought they had good depth last season as far as receivers were concerned and we all seen how that turned out. Whalen and Swoops are career back up players. Carter is not proven anything. And Johnson may be in his last year. So there is three of your depth players who are all unknown. One injury would take one away. Injuries is something the Colts do have quite often just like every NFL team does. They had nine picks going in and that is plenty. Trading down to get what? Another 6th or 7th round pick?  The players in the late rounds are pretty much all higher percentage gambles even to make the team. Quantity is not better than quality.

4 picks later the Giants moved up 7 spots, swapping 2nd round picks, and giving up their 4th round pick and 2016 7th round gamble pick, so yeah, Grigs could have still gotten his guy plus at least a extra body. With that pick he could have picked up OT Clemmings.

  2. Archer, why does everyone want to run out replace the NT- types that we've spent time developing? New England! They have had their chances and proven to be light weights that can't contain mediocre RBs on good teams. Something done with the middle of that D 'cause those guys obviously can't hack it.

  3. Another receiver?? This time in the 1st?? Do you ever see Belicheck doing that? There is a reason they are constantly in the AFC Championship game and have won 4 Superbowls, besides the cheating, and it's because they draft the best player available and if not they'll trade backend get more picks. Overdrafting a position that is already stacked is poor management and makes me question Grigs judgement, which stinks because I spent the last couple years defending his picks/trades/free agent pickups. Really disappointed about this but hoping for the best. Go Colts.

  4. As a player, he doesn't sound like a ad pickup, but for the whole organization it was a terrible pick. So many positional needs just got unmet, there was solid safety still available, yet Grigs pulls the trigger on yet another skill position, one that already has far and enough depth to it. They could have even traded back and picked him up, and obtain an additional pick, but no, let's just blow a 1st rounder recklessly, smdh.

  5. I bet if Lovie was still coach he would snag up Freeney. Could you imagine? Freeney and Peppers? Nastiest dou. If he did go to Detroit, that would defiantly be the a fierce line. Could be the missing piece on they Seattle Defense. But I think it'll be another cliche move, one in which a player wants a Super Bowl and goes to New England, though how well has that worked for players in the past 8 seasons. I wonder how much cap room the Redskins or Saints have. I love Free Agency, so many possibilities.
