How do we know how much influence he really has with the defense? It's also not a great defense
I agree just adding any new candidates that are being verified I don’t want him either.

This article also mentions the Colts have asked permission to interview Patricia Patriots DC.

The colts have the ability to beat the patriots. It's like the colts stay competitive for one qtr maybe, and then crap themselves because they realize they're playing the patriots.
I remember the infamous fake punt game they were up 21 to 20 at half time. You guys know the rest. Even before the punt we were still in it. Pagano out coached himself.

Hindsight is always 20/20.
I agree. At the time though many experts along with many fans expected us to pick almost all the defensive players listed. It just shows where we could be had we gone the right direction.

I'm pretty sure the comments on this will start trending toward GM ineptness. Leading to it getting merged. I just wanted people to see the players we passed on (more so) the defensive players and what we do/don't have now.

Couldn't help it I found this post funny.

I have a really, really hard time believing this. Irsay was very close to firing him last year and now he retains him to deny the coach/FO he wants?
This is why I gave the topic heading I did and am taking this news with a grain of salt. Yet, it seems like this could be just as possible as it might not be.

I hope this is not true if Irsay really lost out on Gruden due to Grigson being retained maybe the best interest of the Colts aren't being considered. I understand the owner stake with Manning and can see why that would be an issue.

Maybe if more reputable media outlets start asking the same thing it will give us an answer.

If Pagano were to be fired (really losing faith he will) would have been a great DC pick up.

Fingers crossed this is a big announcement about organizational changes. Don't put a lot of faith in Brad Wells though.

I wouldn't count on Brock being any better than what they have. He was below average in Denver, Have any of the small sample size quarterbacks ever worked out?
They signed a RB? Who cares. They had one of the better ones in the league for yrs and it didn't help much.
I can agree on the QB, but their previous RB Arian Foster ended up on IR the past two seasons.

How did the Texans improve?
They just signed a competent quarterback who is better than what they have probably ever had. Also they signed the 2nd best FA RB.

Everybody always says this same crap. Yeah maybe a player or 2 wouldn't want to sign here. But you cant tell me out of Osemele, Allen, Brooks, Boone, Jenkins, Mack and all the other guys. You cant tell me we couldn't get 1 or 2 of those guys. Thinking none of those good players would want to sign here is ridiculous. We could have gotten one of those guards if we wanted too. Your way of thinking is no good player wants to sign here.
Exact same thing I said in another post. Yet the Texans sign an competent QB and 2nd best rated RB to hit FA. We aren't as of yet doing anything to stay competitive with them.
-
I don't get it you got guys like Osemele, Mack, Jenkins, Vernon, Lamar Miller. I mean come on. Houston just became a real threat and we have a GM doing nothing don't like where this going at all we have more holes than some realize and almost every player that could have gave us a major position upgrade is gone.

The Ravens will not have enough cap space to keep Osemele and is looking for $11 mil and expected to get $9 mil per the article at NBCSports. After looking at the age, stats, and other measurables, I think he would be a great fit and a high urgency target to go after in free agency. Thoughts and comments?

I would rather spend the money on Jenoris Jenkins at CB to go along with Davis.

Also saw that there right tackle who played every offensive snap since he has been the starter is going to be a free agent too maybe could look into this as well.

While the Colts need to upgrade the center spot I don't want them to spend a lot of money on a 30 year old center to do so.
I do think the Colts need to try and find a decent interior offensive lineman in free agency though not Mack. Like others I would rather see them draft someone if the right guy was available.
I don't think the Colts have the money to comfortably spend on Mack and I am optimistic that the changes to the coaching staff will result in better play from the line as a whole even if no new players were brought in.
I like this option as well I am simply saying to look at the situation I just want as many options as possible. I would rather have a career center to team up with Luck during his prime years. I too hope the coaching will fix some issues but still feel the talent isn't there now.

A source on yahoo said that Alex Mack is going to opt out of his contract and while he is 30 he was ranked the best center in football 2 years ago and would be about 10 mil a year to attain I would look hard into it.
McDaniels rejects Colts.

Looks like Kraft gave JM a raise and outbid the Colts.
