  1. Belichick is without a doubt the greatest coach of all time. Period. Brady just has the luxury of having that type of coach and system. If you put Brady in a vertical style offense he wouldn't have near the success. You cannot deny his accomplishments but greatest ever? Talent wise I don't believe he's top ten. If I were building a team and you gave me a choice between Montana, Peyton, Marino, Moon, Elway or Brady without Belichick. I'm taking every one of them before Brady. Is he greatest based on Championships? Sure. But it's a team sport and his teammates and coaches play a lot into that. It's says something about a system that has yet to have a backup QB fail in it too.

I agree that marijuana isn't a heroin/cocaine style drug with a heavy addiction level.

But the fact that he obviously smokes marijuana regularly is a problem.

He was arrested in September for not having a permit for a gun he purchased and they found a small amount of pot. Small enough that charges weren't filed for it. After that it's safe to assume he was under a microscope. I hardly think that small of an amount found in September constitutes a regular use or a drug problem as you implied.

He's just as good as Randy Gregory was coming out. Complete with complimentary drug problem.

Marijuana isn't a drug problem but that's a matter of opinion. But for giggles here's an article about the NFLPA's new drug proposal the NFL and their outlook on it. Soon it will become a non-issue it looks like. http://www.thecannabist.co/2017/02/01/nfl-marijuana-policy-roger-goodell/72844/ I think we go with McKinley anyway.

  4. I have no love for the Pats. Literally zero. But I can't deny that what they they have been able to do and continue to do is special. That in itself makes it interesting at least. Couldn't ever seeing myself not watching. The world is a pretty crummy place at the moment and football is an escape for a lot of people.

Just saw a headline that San Diego would accept the Raiders if the deal with Las Vegas falls through.

I'm not sure how the NFL will benefit from all of these relocations. If it hasn't reached a point where it is hurting the NFL yet then where is that line? And how close do the owners want to get to that line?

The San Diego Raiders. The lifelong rival. Really?

    It's kind of getting bizarre.

I have no problems with relocation for the right reasons. But I agree this whole relocate just to relocate is ridiculous.

Fournett 1st. then Cook.  Either or with the 1st. pick.  Add 2 or 3 Defensive starters in FA.  Draft defense after we get our elite RB.

I am so torn by our first pick. I want a game changing RB so bad. Imagine Luck being able to go play action with a back defenses would have to honor. At the same time we need defense. If we can nab a quality starters in FA I would have no problem with this.

I'm assuming we traded down and picked up an additional 2nd round pick.

    1.Takk Mckinley  OLB

    2.Sidney Jones  CB

    2.Jarrad Davis    ILB

    3.Carl Lawson   OLB

    4. Jamal Williams/Kareem Hunt  RB

    4. Montravious Adams/Davon Gotchaux/Vincent Taylor DE

    5. John Johnson    S

    6. Kareem Are   OG

    Free Agent

    Melvin Ingram

    Brandon Williams

I hope McKinley is there. He's my first choice at olb. He fits every need we have. I think Tim Williams will become a very special player also. It would take him some time to develop his overall game though. Love your draft though. Very, Very solid. Very well thought out.

In my opinion, with our 3-4 scheme the OLB are part of the trenches.

I would love to grab Tim Williams. The guy has beast written all over him. He was used as a situational player but I truly believe it was because of Bamas depth. He has exceptional speed and burst and I think he could be one of those rare guys that develop their all around game.

The rest of your post was a little too salty for me, but I agree with this.

A year ago, the decision was made to stick with these two guys. If anything would have changed Irsay's mind, I would think that he wouldn't have doubled down on his commitment to them a couple weeks ago. All I'm saying is that if we take Irsay at his word, then Grigson and Pagano aren't going anywhere right now.

As for the rest, I do think Colts fans are being a little bratty right now. Not defending this mediocrity of the last two seasons, and not saying that keeping Pagano is the right decision, but this team isn't spiraling apart, it isn't crumbling, Luck's prime isn't being sacrificed, etc. I want more than this, just like everyone else, but this isn't the pits that it's being made out to be. This is NOTHING like Al Davis' Raiders, who spent 14 years as a cellar dweller. Remember, they fired an 8-8 coach four years ago, and that didn't work out too well for them.

Again, not defending Pagano or the decision to keep him, if it were up to me, he'd be gone. But comparisons like that, and the general whiny state of the fanbase/media over the past few weeks, are cringe-worthy, IMO.

My question is how long is Luck going to last? Honestly I don't see him having a long career with the abuse he takes. We may have a 12 year window. As for the Raiders I'm not saying that's where we are.  Im not that delusional. Im saying that's who he reminds me of with his decision making.

Which is exactly the point. You won 1 SB with a HOF coach, QB, GM, WR, and RB. What the hell makes him think he's winning anything with Grigs and Pagano?

Im not dismissing winning a Super Bowl because some franchises don't have any, but Irsay himself said they should've won more. You're not going to win any with lesser front office people.

That's how I meant it. Definitely not making excuses for the Rolling Ball of Turds that make up this front office and coaching staff.

  11. 18 minutes ago, Superman said:

That's a matter of perspective. To me, the only reason to keep them is if you think they really can be the guys, and in that case, a prove-it deal isn't appropriate. Irsay preaches continuity, not because he's afraid of making changes, but because he believes in it. He doesn't want his guys looking over their shoulders, wondering about their next contract, he wants them doing their jobs without fear of being fired the moment something goes wrong. So, from his perspective, committing to his guys was the right thing to do.

Where most of us take issue with his approach is that we're done with these guys, and he's not. Evidently... But from a management standpoint, I understand why he'd give them multi year contract extensions.

I agree that's is probably his view point but it's garbage like that that is killing this team. He is starting to remind me of Al Davis in reverse. Instead of no continuity there's a little too much continuity. The attaboy attitude and glass is half full attitude is exactly what you can't have in football. If you can't coach with the pressure of possibly not getting your contract renewed how on earth are you going to coach in the biggest stage of them all? He should have thrown them in the deep end. Sink or swim. If not for the organization's sake then for the kid who's body is being demolished week in and week out and whose career is looking like it will become a what could have been situation. All because of the poor hiring decisions you made at the beginning of his career and continue to make because continuity is so important to you. There is absolutely no accountability when we play like hot garbage but a crap ton of high fives and butt slaps when we manage a first down. Heck there's that when we dont. Continuity only works if what you have is worth continuing.

  12. 2 minutes ago, Superman said:

You have a legitimate point, but I think we're grasping at straws now. Irsay committed to these guys a year ago. He reiterated that commitment a couple weeks ago. I think we should take him at his word and get ready for another year of Grigson and Pagano.

I think so too, I believe if it was going to be done it would have been done already. Probably early this morning or last night. It was something I thought last year when we were all in limbo. I still believe now is the time to do it considering our draft position and cap space. They should have been on 1 year prove it contracts. Multi year contracts made zero sense.

  13. I really believe that it will probably play out like the Caldwell situation. I have this feeling Grigson is gone. If that is the case the new GM would more than likely fire Pagano. You see I've had this idea that maybe Irsay sees firing a cancer survivor with a inspirational story and genuinely likeable guy as a P.R. nightmare. Not to mention having to admit his own mistakes. Hiring a new GM gives him the perfect scapegoat in allowing him to say that Pagano and the new GM have different visions for the team and that his GM feels as though a change is necessary. All of this is hypothetical of course but it would make some sense as to why we have not heard any word on Grigson. It's the same result but makes the whole firing thing more palatable to the general public.

Who's belly-aching now? People that want Pagano and Grigson gone are just plain wrong. Next year, this team will be a playoff team.

What happens then? Pagano hasn't proven he can beat anyone in the top tier of the AFC. He is consistently being outcoached. The road to the Super Bowl runs through Pittsburgh and New England. Pittsburgh has destroyed not beaten us every year we have played them under Pagano.  He never has beaten New England either came close once but we all know what happened there.

No... been a Colts fan since their arrival. I'm STILL happy with the win but it does NOT mask the problems with this team going forward with Chuck at the helm. Starting a game DOWN 17-0 at home against a 3 win team speaks volumes. The Colts were fortunate not to end the season against a non division opponent because ONCE again the afc south bailed Chuck out.

Loved the fact Mathis went out with a win but the scary thing is the AFC South are getting better every year. The Texans are a decent, not good, not great, a decent QB from blowing our doors off.

Id take anyone over Pagano...As far as Texans Tolzien is better than any qb on their roster and Watt has been out all yr.. They got Hopkins and an old lamar miller on offense with no qb..Hopkins is a good #2..Yet they r in position to go 10-6..we have a better cb, better safetys,  better d line, better receivers, better tight ends, and a once in a decade qb..Yet they beat us again..Pagano is the problem period..

I'm am not a Pagano fan at all but it I laughable to say we are a better defensive team than Houston. Without their best player J.J. Watt this is what they managed. http://www.footballdb.com/stats/teamstat.html?group=D&cat=T. Their defense is on top of every other NFL team in a lot of categories. They may even have the best Defense in the NFL this year without Watt.
