  1. I wanna mention the overall attitude of the Colts locker room as it relates to this.

I know every year, our goal is the Super Bowl but I really. REALLY think that this year is different and honestly, I’m not the only one.  I think our roster feels the same. They can taste it. It’s why we have Andre and Frank this year because they could see it even when they were with different teams.  Vegas can see it (because of betting odds). ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Skip Bayless and Cari Champion can see it too (though I usually don't care)

No one on this roster wants to be the guy who ruins what could possibly the most important year of football in the lives of nearly everyone in this organization.  I mean that’s obvious I guess but, I’ve played with a few losing teams in my life and it’s ALWAYS different when you think you have a genuine shot at the “show”.

Also, you know after a huge loss last season, I’m sure all these guys wanted to blow of some serious steam and just really cut loose. But I think that because there has been no news it’s GREAT news. It shows how serious this roster is taking next season.

  2. Oh another one... What if Usain Bolt decided to play football for the Colts... DB or WR or something like that... whaaaaaaaat. I mean I know the NFL has a long history of sprinters becoming professional receivers but with the way the game is played now-a-days and with the insane and, frankly, inhuman speed of Bolt... I mean i don't even care what team he played for, it would be amazing.

  3. Well Watt plays both sides of the ball sometimes AND scores touchdowns... I think if Brady and Rodgers wanna be as good as JJ... well then their just gonna have to start playing a few downs on the D-line... If they log some sacks next yeart then im sure their places on the 2016 list will be higher.

  4. I have a better question....

would anyone else in the NFL stand a chance against JJ Watt in an all out battle royal/thunder-dome type match to the death?

The answer to that riddle is no. JJ Watt is a freak of nature.

  5. I don't think Dungy gets enough credit for harping on this while he was coaching.  "Nothing good happens after midnight."

Bars late at night, with intoxicated people getting more intoxicated, are a recipe for disaster.  Both students made mistakes, but what do you expect with a bunch of drunk 20-somethings in a small space?  I doubt that's the only stupid thing someone at that bar did that night, but since this guy is semi-famous (and on camera) it became news.

I agree. It's only a matter of time before you get yourself into a less than desirable situation. People who go out and party every chance the get aren't really looking at "if" anymore but "when.... watch out Gronk.

  6. You must have forgotten how profitable the nfl is. On what planet is the average worth of an NFL team less than an NBA team? Sure the value of nba teams went up with the new TV deal coming in (also ballmer overpaying for the clippers) , but they're still worth less than an NFL team on average. There's a reason those 32 teams are worth more than the MLB and nba combined. The money is there. It's on the players and nfl pa to negotiate for better contracts and guaranteed pay in the next cba negotiations. nfl-franchise-values.png

i think that saying "the value of nba teams went up with the new TV deal" is an understatement considering the NBA franchise value increased by 74 percent since that chart was released by business insider. yeah, i also may have exaggerated the comparative worth of NBA teams vs NFL teams but even if they were exactly the same, the delineation of profits still holds true with the amount of NBA vs NFL players. …

Maybe the league can get together and talk about making football a 5 on 5 sport with a 12 man roster for each team… then the players will get tons of money…. Course we might start hearing Love and Leonard complaining about how they don’t get high paying contracts like people in the NFL…

  7. You do realize how much money the nfl makes, right? If so then you also realize the statement you made isn't really true...

yeah and the average worth of each NBA team is about 50 percent more than the average worth of an NFL team.... AND the NBA has a fourth of the players to pay..... so hmmmmmm

    $NBA /~480 players > $NFL / ~1700 players....

  8. The roster size alone makes it quite difficult to pay NFL players the huge contracts that the NBA and MLB pay their players. The NBA and MLB have so many more games to collect money on while the NFL only has 16 plus the playoffs. Even the playoff systems are so different. NFL doesn't have the best of 7 in their playoff system.

That's what i was getting at

  9. That’s the biggest argument I think I have with people about “who’s the best?” I realize it’s a loaded question and subjective and whatever but for me, it’s about choosing a player to build a franchise around… end of story.

Like I was arguing with someone the other day who was trying to tell me the best player in the league was Tony Romo… man was that frustrating…

Anyways, If the NFL was middle school gym class, Luck would always get picked first.

I wonder who would be picked last…..

  10. Give Luck a defense like the Seahawks' that are consistent and he'll win more SB's than Tom Brady. Even if it was at the cost of our plethora of offensive weapons, Luck can make anyone look good so long as they can catch the ball thrown to them (DHB  ) and not run into the backs of their own OL (TR  ).

Colts make it further and further each year because their offense around Luck gets better and better each year (or maybe Luck is just the one getting better and better) …

Either way…. Offense + Time = better post season… last year they made it to the AFC championship sooooo… according to the equation, they just need to beef up the offense to make it to the super bowl. I don’t mean to over simplify it but honestly, that’s what its about… and it is kinda simple. (not saying I agree with it but if/when the colts go to the show, ill be a believer.)

  11. funny you started this thread,...just found this:

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2510908-setting-realistic-expectations-for-each-indianapolis-colts-rookie

    i think this:

    dorsett: 40 catches 550 yards  5 td's

smith:   possibly taking over Tolers job by week 8.  3 int's

anderson:  splits time with Langford, 30 tackles  5 tfl's  3 sacks

geathers:  wins SS spot by week 4,  50 tackles 2 ints

parry:     does not see alot of time, mainly rotational, 10 tackles

    robinson:  becomes 2nd running back by week 8.  100 carries 450 yards 4 td's

herrera:  cut by team.  -i think the inside linebacker jobs will be taken by our 2 starters, and irving and hodges.

goode:   makes the team only as a situational goal line blocker, but is also kept on to continue grooming at OT.

I agree like 85 percent. The only thing i don't agree with is robinson becoming the number 2 running back by week 8. I dont think he will see more than 50 touches.... maybe two TD's....
