  1. Jay Cutler equals Jeff George lite

Ah the memories of my man Jeff George...*sigh*

I wouldn't take Jay Cutler in any form. I think he is overrated as hell and I hate the intangibles especially the leadership part of his make up. Avoid at all costs Titans and roll the dice on Mariota.

  2. I have nothing but faith in the front office at our Colts and I am happy thus far with the NFL Draft.

Dorsett is another weapon (and from THE U BABY!) and was ultimately the best player available on our board which is why we drafted him. I would have honestly preferred we addressed some needs on the offensive or defensive line first and foremost but what do I know? I am not second guessing the brains trust. I see Luck as a QB that can make ANY WR look much better than he is which is why I believed we could have picked up a WR later in the draft and took a guy like Malcolm Brown (DT - taken by NE).

  3. It's official, we'll be playing Mariota and Jameis Winston next season, the first 2 overall picks in the draft. Thoughts?

My thoughts are simple: TB and TEN are two games we SHOULD win.

I am not sold on Mariota as a NFL long term starter. I said on the Colts chat on day one of the NFL Draft, I've had him as Vince Young II for a couple of years. I think he will have some short term success and then ultimately end up a bust based on the hype around him in some corners. I hope to be proven wrong as by all reports, he is as nice a guy as you will come across in the NFL.

I've had Winston as a winner in the NFL and watched most of his games since coming out of HS as a hyped "once in a generation" QB. He has that IT factor. Jameis makes all the throws and his team will follow him. I don't know what his ceiling is though he can be a winner in the NFL if he matures.

The sleeper in the NFL Draft at QB that I like, and BRAVO to NO, is Garrett Grayson. Grayson is in the ideal environment and I think he could be one guy that a lot of teams will regret passing on.

  4. Andre Johnson (AJ) has had an awesome career with no real QB. It makes you wonder what type of numbers he would have produced if he had a QB the calibre of Andrew throwing to him for his career. AJ is as good as 99.9% of the wide receivers to have played the game and unlike a guy named Jerry Rice who enjoyed catching balls from Montana, Young and then '02 NFL MVP Rich Gannon), he didn't land a Hall of Fame calibre QB (yeah, I like many Colts fans I imagine think Andrew has HOF potential) until the backend of his career in Luck. Look at his numbers:

    • 1012 receptions
    • 13,597 yards
    • 13.4 ypc
    • 64 TD

    NFL RECORDS

    • Only player with 60+ receptions in his first 8 seasons
    • Most games with 10+ receptions in a season: 7 (tied with Wes Welker)
    • Most seasons with 100+ receptions: 5 (tied with Wes Welker)
    • Most seasons with 100+ receptions and 1,400+ yards: 4
    • Most games with 10+ receptions

All of the above with QB "talents" like Carr, Schaub, Keenum and Fitzpatrick!?!?!
