This guy looks so funny on the field. I just watched that Youtube video of USC vs. Washington and all I can say is that he puts a lot of effort, but he's way too slow because of his size. When he gets his hands on the opponent he does well, both in run and pass blocking, but when he misses a block or when a fast player gets around him he looks ridiculous.

I hope Philbin can do something with him, make him lose more weight first of all, otherwise it's a wasted pick.

He is gonna play on short yard situation as G i guaranteed it , he is a mauler he, ofc he has to lose weight, Philbin and Ballard went to USC to work him both of them so they did their homework. He is gonna lose like 30 lbs and play with 310 lbs, he made and interview to NFL where he was aware of eating his way out of the league so he is aware of that.

  2. He is gonna have 8 ints, (2 from Watson(week 7,12), 2 from Bortles(week 9,17)).
He has a lot of range and the QBs are gonna test him and they are gonna lose, he's a ballhawk, he is gonna be ready for the training camp but the staff is gonna take it slow then mid season he is gonna play on passing downs.

Here's my depth chart of the current roster, including my prediction of my final 53. Assuming no major FA signings or trades, here's what I see.

IMO Parry is def gone with the draft of Glover Stewart. We didn't draft someone in the 4th round to let it go to the practice squad.

Of our 9 DLs, 2 are gone for sure making a total of 7. Amongst the 2 to be cut will likely be the following:

    McGill - $0 dead cap

    Parry - 110K dead cap

    Woods - 250K dead cap

    Hunt - 500K dead cap

At OLB, Maggitt will def be gone before Mingo is; he only has a $4000 dead cap (NOT A TYPO) while Mingo will stay simply because he was a former 1st rounder and we'll still hoping he pulls a Jerry Hughes after the latter went to Buffalo.

Mingo can compete, i think he could shine in the Camp.
I can see all the Defense spots wide open for someone to take, there's a lot of depth, preseason games are gonna be "fun" because all the LB have to cement their position.

  4. I'm excited for Training Camp, a lot of overcrowded positions, S,CB,LB,OL there's gonna be a lot of competition if the starting spots are open then they are gonna push themselves, Ballard did what he told he'd do; he brought the competition back.

So Conley and the girl were just laying on the bed doing nothing. He later kicks her out.  She is infuriated enough to get a rape kit and accuse him?  She wouldn't have had the rape kit done unless they had sex, otherwise she has no case.  If they did have sex, then Conley and company are lying.  Why would they say there was no sex rather than consensual sex?

I could see a scenario where a naive fan girl innocently wants to meet and hangout with the local football hero, and is not there to have sex and soon wants to leave when it's clear that is what's being expected.  That seems to be her side.  The other side is a girl who had consensual sex with him and then was mad when he kicked her out after sex.  However, Conleys story of no sex doesn't add up.

If Conley had sex with the girl, he is gonna go undrafted after that he has to wait and see what is gonna happen with the accusation, if he didn't have sex with the girl he is gonna drop because all the drama but not far, i can see another L. Collins trade up to the top of the second.

True, our short field coverage in the middle has also been a sore spot  ( an opposing passer rating of 117 to the short middle of the field, 28th in the league ), but I feel better safety play (and better safety players) could help there.  Mathis and Walden are gone.  Colts need consistent QB pressure and sacks.  Two good pass rushers will be necessary at some point,  but get at least one early this year is my goal.  Cornerback is deep, get one of them too.  And I am of the mind that RB's can be had late, as teams migrate away from bell cow player to running back by committee

We lost our cover LB with Freeman last year and we suffered it, i think Sheard can pressure the QB consistently and after the 2nd round there isn't a better talent to get to the QB than Sheard, i would take T. Williams if he drops to the second but in the league pass rushers are too valuable , he is gonna be gone by the time we get to pick in the second round.

Valid points.  But in a passing league, stunts and blitzes only get you so far.  in fact, veteran  QB's often feast off blitz packages once recognized (they know the immediate weakness and exploit it).  I feel 2 true pass rushers will be necessary if this team is to be a consistent playoff contender like we once were (Freeney and Mathis days).

What do you do if someone takes Reddick off the board in front of you?

Takkarist McKinley UCLA or T.J Watt, if both are off the board then trade down.

We are not 1 player nor draft to be contenders again.

No true edge rusher. We need one.

True but one guy isn't always the solution for a team, i can't see Tim Williams dropping to our second even with the character issues also we don't truly have a ILB D. Jackson was our "best" linebacker last year and he was pretty bad, we have Sheard he put a lot of pressure last season also we need to get to the QB and it's not always the edge guy how gets to the QB, i can see a lot of plays were we disguise Gathers as if he were covering the TE and send a delay blitz with Reddick covering the TE, we could also align Reddick as OLB on passing situations  with :

    Sheard  Anderson  Hankins  Lagnford Reddick

OK. Say he's not guilty of anything, and we pass on him in the 4th RD. He turns into a pro bowler. Then what? Is it really worth taking that chance and passing on a top 15 talent in the mid RD's??? We have a shot to bring in 3-5 1st RD caliber players because of all this mess. In our situation we need to take advantage of it. We need an infusion of young talent. And I seriously doubt anything comes of this personally.

It's a gamble and the collateral is much higher even if there just a 30% of he begin guilty so we have to wait and see the talent is there, i 'm pretty sure a lot of teams are researching and maybe they are gonna draft him with some information.

What will a rape kit prove if she willingly had sex with him? I do hope more info comes out before the draft, hopefully positive. If it is then there's a great chance the Colt's take him. Chris Ballard is an open minded guy, he will get as much knowledge on the situation as possible and make the right decision.

Then he is gonna be staled until the investigation comes to an end.

    1. Hasson Reddick  LB    Temple        15
    2. Quincy Wilson     CB    Florida        46  / Sidney Jones
    3. Joe Mixon           RB    Oklahoma   80  If not here jump from 4 to 3
    4. Kendell Beckwith LB    LSU            121
    5. Jaleel Jonhson    DT    Iowa           137
    6. Jake Butt             TE    Michigan    144
    7. Joe Williams        RB    Utah          158

Yes, an RFA can be tagged.

The Cowboys didn't bump his salary; they can't. He qualified for performance-based bonuses, just like every rookie does. Even with those, he's still made less than Henry Anderson, for instance, by about $500k so far. Anderson has made over $170k in performance based bonus himself, and that's with his rookie year being cut short and battling back from injury last season.

    http://www.espn.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4742636/a-slight-tweak-to-lael-collins-contract
They bump his salary 25% each year and he is gonna earn 1,6 M after 3 years 533k per year but his next contract is worth 2.9M first round tender, 2M second round tender or a juicy extension 8M per year market value.

    http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/indianapolis-colts/henry-anderson-16819/

    Anderson after 4 years ~~ 2,9M  , 725k  per year.

So it's worthier to be UFA than a 4,...,7th rounder because he money is gonna be better after year 3.

    http://www.businessinsider.com/nfl-draft-contract-values-2016-4

    4-7th rounders are worth around 2.5M / 4 years.

He wouldn't make more than third rounders. He'd just be eligible for a new contract sooner than a drafted player would be.

Speaking of Collins, it's still early in the offseason, but he is eligible for a new contract now, and that has yet to be done. If he doesn't get a new contract, he'll be a restricted free agent in 2018. He still might not hit free agency until after 4 years.

The only real advantage Collins had by going undrafted is that he got to pick his team.

His contract was worth more than any 3rd because every year the Cowboys bumped his salary 30%.

Can a RFA be tagged after year 4?

It is public record now that Collins (via his agent) would not have waited for a year if taken in the draft.  It was a bluff, and it worked.  That time. Too many things can happen (get injured, not keep in good enough shape, better prospects the next year, etc...) to chance it.  Conley won't skip out if chosen, I'm pretty sure.

Well then he COULD be the bargain of the draft if selected in the 7th and he cleans up.

Because of Collins, someone will pull the trigger on him, he will not become UDFA.  Thing is, what round does one push the rest of the chips in and throw the dice?

I predict at least one, maybe 2 more stories out about a top draft pick before the draft.  Either poor medical recheck or more  legal trouble..  We're not done here, me thinks.  And I got wind that if average fans had full medicals on all of these draft picks, their mocks would change around.... a lot.

If his agent/lawyer are so sure about the allegation they are gonna ask what Collins asked 1 year ago, draft me at worst at day 2, if not i'm going to take 1 year, then as he went UFA, he chose his team and he is gonna make more than 3rds.

If the guy we absolutely want is off the board at 15, trade down and figure out how to get an extra 3rd or late 2nd and hope to get Sidney and a really good player in any position with our 1st and 2nd round picks. This is a great draft to add some top 3 round picks.

Sidney seems to be ready by  September he could be a late season addition and not a red% player.
