  1. Dallas is 8-0 on the road.  They seem to play better on the road away from their stadium.

It's almost as if that Cowboys' stadium is so intimidating and distracting for Cowboys players it effects their performance.

It should be a close game.  If it's below freezing on a grassy field that will slow down the pace.  That favors the Cowboys and could keep Rodgers/Nelson off rhythm.

  2. The Patriots lose to everybody in the post season, except the Colts. The Patriots are just a really good regular season team. When it comes to the playoffs, it seems they lost their clutchness once they played Eli the first time.

The Pats have beaten the Raiders, Steelers, Colts, Titans, Jags, Chargers, Ravens in the playoffs when those teams were good.  One thing is for sure, the Pats do perform better than the Colts in the post season.

We'll see if the Ravens can beat the Pats now that the Pats actually have weapons on offense, a healthy Gronk, Lafell, Tyms, Wright and an actual healthy secondary with depth (Revis, Browner) who can cover.

This will be the first time Flacco plays a Patriots team with a legit defense.

  3. i dont see how this helps your case

"Revis and Browner weren’t perfect Sunday, but they certainly earned their contracts — and hype — by limiting Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders and Julius Thomas. Browner lined up at both cornerback, covering either Demaryius Thomas or Sanders, and in a hybrid safety/linebacker/slot role, where he took on Julius Thomas.

demaryius thomas (covered by browner) 127 yards

sanders (also covered by browner) 151 yards

Julius Thomas (covered sometimes by Browner) 33 yards and 1 td (2 receptions/ 2 targets)

i would say you have a very loose understanding of the term "shut down" if I had access to pff and could look at revis's completion percentage allowed or similar stat, i would wager that at least 50 percent of all those yards and the td were given up by browner

    Thanks for helping my case.

Browner didn't cover both Thomas' and Sanders at the same time.  Some times Revis was on one of them, some times Kyle Arrington was covering one of them and some times Logan Ryan.

You claimed Browner "sucks" and is no good.  Yet he was able to pretty much contain and do a better job at covering Thomas than most other corners have been able to.

And this game was also earlier on in the season when the Broncos were still on fire as the best offensive team.

  4. he didnt even play in the super bowl. He probably didnt even cover Julius Thomas on 50 percent of the passing snaps so Im gonna go out on a limb here and say that when you say "for most of the game" the catches Thomas did make were when Browner was assigned.

Any proof of this?  Any stats to back that up?

  5. If I was a Colts fan I wouldn't feel too confident about this win.  The game wasn't a blow out and was pretty close for most the game.

26-10 at home against a team that hasn't won a playoff game in 20+ years, with a questionable QB (Andy Dalton) who can't win big games on a team missing their two best offensive weapons (AJ Green, Jermaine Gresham) and some of their defensive players leaving the game with injuries.

Now Indy has to go into Denver outdoors in the cold on the grass and stop a great running game and top quality WR's and maybe the 2nd best TE in the game.  The Colts could barely beat the Browns, in fact that game might have been won by the Browns if Josh Gordon caught that long ball.

I just look at it this way, if the Browns lost to the Colts partly due to their own mistakes with Brian Hoyer at QB, how can the Colts beat Peyton?  But, anything can happen.  I just give the Broncos a 70/30 chance of winning the game in Denver.

  6. Weather prediction...

Weather Channel has Sunday in Denver at low 40's during the day and 19 degrees at night.  It could change as we get closer.

I think this will be a lower scoring game for what these two teams are use to...

    21 to 24.

I don't see either team scoring 30 points in this game especially if the weather is bad.

  7. id take Talib/Harris over Revis Browner. Talib and Revis are close but Harris is way better than Browner imo

Talib hasn't played an entire AFC title game healthy.  Harris is unproven in the big game post season too.

    Revis/Browner is a better tandem.

But the Patriots overall have the best secondary in the NFL with the most depth at CB and Safety.

  8. There should have been two penalties on that play...

1.)  It was a pass interference call.

2.)  Dez Bryant went onto the field with his helmet off.  That's an automatic flag/penalty.  But they didn't call that.

  9. He's in a slump but he was #4 in qb rating, #2 in td passes, and #4 in yardage this season, all of which are higher than Brady

    Re-posted here...

Manning was on fire till the Rams game.  Most of those 39 td's came before Thanksgiving when the weather was warmer.  What is Manning's stats from the Rams game on?

Pats had one of the slowest starts in the entire NFL.  Patriots were a below average to bad team their first 4 games with one of the worst O-lines in the NFL till they corrected it before the Bengals game.

  10. Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Luck, Rivers, Romo, Roethlisberger, Ryan, Wilson

It's time we put a stop to Peyton Manning even being in the top 5 QB's in the league.  He hasn't even been able to throw the ball properly the last 2 months.  If it wasn't for their running game and defense they wouldn't have made the playoffs.

Peyton Manning is no longer in the top 5.  There's something wrong with him either an injury he and the team are hiding that we won't know about till after the season or he's mentally losing it.

Hasn't it already been confirmed that Manning has some thigh/hip injury or his neck is bothering him?

  11. Harbaugh is playing mind games with the Pats too.  He knows the Boston media picked this up and will mention this to Brady.  But the Ravens similar to the Jets play mind games with the Pats through the media and it does get into the heads of the Patriots.  Patriots can be psychologically weak.

When the Pats were winning super bowls they had Bryan Cox, Ty Law, Rodney Harrison who would shoot their mouths off and gave  them confidence.  But it seems after the spy gate controversy in 2007 Belichick went under ground, secretive and more cantankerous, turned the entire locker room into some closed contained environment lacking emotion.  Belichick doesn't let his players respond anymore.

And this is why getting a guy like Brandon Browner and allowing him to play his way has been good for the Pats.

  12. What!? Montana made 8 pro bowls, TWO time league MVPs, 3 time first team all pro. Flacco has NONE of those achievements. And he has never even had a season where he has thrown 30 Tds.

You obviously don't seem to understand what Harbaugh was doing by psychologically pumping up his QB.  For you to go on and on debating if Flacco is the best shows you fall for the bait.  It doesn't matter if Harbaugh believes it or not, it's his job as a head coach to motivate his players.  And some times it's about mind games through the media.

  13. I am expecting tonnes of flags thrown towards browner unless the refs are rigged like today.

Seahawks were the most penalized team in 2013, they went on to win the super bowl.  Browner also played on that SB team.

The thing with Browner is he's the type of player who you tolerate his 1 to 3 penalties a game because he'll make up for it with a big hit or INT or great pass deflection at the right time and some times at the most important time.

If the Pats were smart, like I said they'd have Revis on Steve Smith the entire game.  Browner and McCourty on Torrie.  Flacco will have to rely on their 3rd and 4th best WR's and TE to beat the Pats.  But the Pats are deep at CB with Kyle Arrington, Logan Ryan and Butler there to cover.  They got 4 safety's too.

  14. But this will be the toughest game Flacco has played against the Pats since the Pats have a little bit better pass rush and a really good deep secondary.

The Pats should put Revis on Steve Smith and double team Torrie Smith with Browner and McCourty over the top.

Hasn't Revis shut down Steve Smith through out their meetings?

What hurt the Steelers was the deep ball and penalties trying to cover Steve Smith and Torrie down field.

  15. Flacco the Eli Manning of the AFC , both are inconsistent but know how to play in the playoffs especially on the road . With that said I'll take the big 4 ( Manning , Brady Rodgers Brees)over both anyday.

lol @ Peyton, Brady or Brees in the big game today.  No way.  NEVER go on one's previous success years ago when in recent history they have played poorly in the biggest games.

Give me Flacco or Wilson over any of them for the Super Bowl.

Brady and Manning can barely scramble and Peyton might have an injury.

  16. The NFL isn't changing anything in it's playoff format.  There's nothing wrong.  Once a while a division is weak.  It's rare when a below .500 team gets home field in the playoffs.  There is no crisis.

You can't predict when a division will be weak or strong from year to year so you don't chance the playoff format based on a rarity.  For all we know the NFC South could be the strongest division next season.

  17. Can Pats OL survive ?

That's the big question.  I have my doubts.

The excuses from some after the Pats' O-line struggles the last part of the season will be because of injuries or the starters didn't play.

Well if there are injuries on the O-line that's legit concerns.  And Pats fans shouldn't be too confident.
