Are you serious? did you watch the game? Lucks pass would have been on the money had Hilton had not been pushed down. Either Hilton catches it for a 1st down, or he gets hit drops it and its an incompletion either way its not an interception.
Any time you pass in that situation, there is a possibility of interception. It was a very stupid play and I did watch the game. When I saw him going to pass it, I yelled "Noooooooo".

There are 7 0 - 2 teams. In the past few decades only good 0-2 teams make the playoffs. Of those 7, the past predicts only one team will overcome and get in. Here thay are-
NY Giants -- I don't think they're good enough to tun it aorund
Jax Jags - Getting better, but with holes still. Not getting in
Oakland Raiders - Derek Carr isn't skilled or experienced enough
Tampa Bay Bucs - Lovie doesn't have the planets aligned yet. They'll miss.
So we have-
KC Chiefs -
NO Saints
Indy Colts
One of those 3 will make the turnaround and make the playoffs. It is possible, but it's a statistical anomaly for 2 zer0 and 2 teams to get in. But almost certainly not 3. I think our Colts do get it buttoned up and we make it in by barely beating Texans for the AFC South title. If two get in, I think Saints. Chiefs outside looking in this year.
What does everyone else think?
I thought NO had a chance to go to the Super Bowl but they are now two games behind Carolina and I don't see them making that up against a very good defensive team in the Panthers. I don't think KC has any chance so if your logic holds true then the Colts are the team. But, if they lose in Jacksonville and it could happen, all is out the window. I think the Texans win again this week against the Giants but that is no lock either.

For how awesome TY is at stretching the field, why didn't we test the philly secondary with deep passes to him last night?????
Because he isn't that awesome?
-
I pretty much agree, although I don't think we are going to sweep the Texans this year. My guess is the Texans are AFC South Champs, and we probably miss the playoffs, unless things drastically change.
The really sad thing is that if the Texans win the division this year, their upside in the coming years is enormous IMHO. We may not win this division for a long, long time. Give those guys a real good QB and they will be good for many years.

I'm still sticking with 16-0.
Why not.

After going 0-2 we have a 12% chance to make playoffs but hey stay optimistic.(so your sayin theres a chance;)
This is a little like the folks who said we couldn't lose to Philly because Andrew Luck just doesn't lose two games in a row. Well, he does now and if we don't play much better, Jacksonville will not be a gimme. They may be ready to start their new QB against a team they know will not put any pressure on him.

Hey guy that has been here for a cup of coffee. There's nothing wrong with my prediction, and I even pointed out where I made the error. So before you jump on my math or lack of math abilities do yourself a favor and read all the posts.
Ha, ha, OK. But your prediction is certainly wrong.

I wouldn't call Irsay a dope dealer.
If his name wasn't Irsay and someone was picked up for driving while impaired with a sack full of drugs and $30,000 in cash what would you think? I would certainly think dope dealer. I am Irsay is not that but he got a slap on the wrist while they throw the book at players for much less serious crimes. It is just my opinion but I have had enough of Irsay and it is only a matter of time before he goes off again. I hope he proves me wrong about that.

If anyone has a chance is the colts. The weak division we play in, we have the best chance the over come that 12%
I agree with that but the division is not as weak as it once was. I would not be surprised to see the Colts lose twice in the division this year and I certainly think that Houston will win at least one of the games.

What are some good Indianapolis sports talk I can stream online?
Look we all love the Colts and we will stick with them through thick and thin but we are critics who do not like some of what we see from our coaching staff, our front office and a few of our players. I think every fan base is like that. Are the games sold out? Do we have the best young QB in the NFL? Good things will happen. This may be a down year but we have greatly outperformed expectations for the last two years. Yes, a few deluded fans thought we were headed to the Super
Bowl this year but most knew we were not ready for that.

Catches Targets Yards Long play
I read that lots of people thought TY would easily be a starter in Denver. I didn't think so then and I sure don't think so now. Especially with Welker coming back from suspension, I don't think any Colts receiver cracks that starting lineup but that is just my opinion. Their new receiver is playing great in replace of Eric Decker. It does make a difference on who the is QB throwing the ball.

It is absurd that the pass was even attempted. You have the chance to go up by 10 and you pass? It doesn't matter what the refs did, it was a stupid play and it got exactly what it deserved.
-
No one on this forum predicted a perfect season in 2014. No one is happy about last night. Philly repeated what they did to Buffalo which just might kick some big gtime butts this year. There are a number of things they need to improve on but you can say that about every single team in the league.
Oh, yes, they did. There were several predictions of perfect seasons and even more for 14-2.

The refs gave Philly that game the blantant no call on the illegal contact against hilton and the nonsense Horse collar call on Landry were huge that game was ours and they robbed us.
Let's see. Luck made a stupid pass to Hilton that got picked off when he should have been save and taken the three points but that is on the refs? We were not robbed, we just made absurd mistakes at crunch time and they cleaned our clocks.

The Jags sacked Foles 5x last week, and a 3rd string Tackle kept our best pass rusher in check basically all night.
Walden did a lot better, and I'm not giving up on Werner yet, but dang, last night was pretty pathetic as far as pass rush. Don't give me any garbage about doom and gloom and overreacting either...it's an absolutely legitimate concern.
I realize Grigs wants to roll with what we have, but what can we do about this?
Give Newsome, Chris Carter more opportunity?
Are there any free agents worth a crap?
Trade someone?
What else?
Most people here keep saying not to give up on Werner yet. If not now, then when? This guy give no pass rush and no pressure on the QB at all. He is a complete zero in this area and for the life of me I cannot see why everyone doesn't just say "bust" and get him out of here.

is it possible to make a good QB average by giving him too many good weapons on offense. I mean Hilton,nicks,Wayne,Allen,fleenor.... Too much of anything is a bad thing IMO
No, but it is possible to make a GREAT QB average by not providing him an offensive line to protect him.

I'm not so sure the Falcons are a bottom feeder but the loss to the Browns was pretty surprising. They (The Browns) may be better then we think though. The Steelers just barely pulled off a win over the Browns at home.
It may be a situation similar to Houston where if you have a strong defense you can get wins if you can just get some halfway decent QB play.
Great defenses keep you in games. The Texans are going to get decent QB play from Fitzpatrick and that will be enough to make them a division contender all season long in my opinion.
-
in no way was that luck's fault. no only did the ref blow the call, but ty also fell down
It was Luck's fault. He shouldn't have been throwing a pass in that situation. He needed to make sure we put at least three points on the score board.
-
doesnt matter the circumstances. at the end of the game, we still had a chance to win
Then you can't argue that the refs screwed us out of the Eagle's game. It doesn't matter the circumstances, they had a chance to win and they did.
-
lets put things into perspective. while we are 0-2 it isnt like we lost to bottom feeders like the saints. we lost to two high-powered offensive playoff football teams and only by one possession. some calls went against us, but thats sports for you. its never perfect. while the lack of pass rush is alarming, our secondary actually did a good job in coverage and making tackles considering we were playing two shifty backs in a up-tempo offense with zero pressure. this is still a 12-4 team so come down the ledge
I think calling the Denver game a one possession game is being a bit liberal. The Colts were lucky to nail an onside kick that has something less than 10% chance of success. We were getting blown out by Denver until Denver's coaching staff went prevent and conservative. I think we could play Denver their ten games and lose nine and be blown out in most of them. I think there is just that much difference in the talent. We are closer to the Eagles but I expect all of those teams in that division to be a test for us, even the Giants.

I'm not sure I agree. He has never been in the top 20 in passer rating and that has to improve drastically to even begin talking Hall of Fame. I do really admire the man's spirit though. He always fights to the last second and simply refuses to give up. The Kansas City comeback was one of the most impressive performances I have ever seen.
I agree with you that HOF talk is way too early. One serious injury and he doesn't come close to that. It shouldn't even be mentioned for at least another ten years. I am also concerned that he always has a low passer rating and I am more concerned that he doesn't really seem to be improving. That is 9 INTs in the last four games he has played. That is not a HOF QB at work.

and here's another one for you, drew:
we either will or will not go to the playoffs, so we have a 50-50 chance for that.
that's a fact.
I don't think that makes it 50-50, that is strange thinking. If you think like that, every team has a 50% chance of going to the playoffs every year. There are lots of them that have 0% chance of doing that.
-
If you ran the ball on 3rd down burning more clock and preserving the FG, chances are we are not talking about it now.
Bingo!! Is it true that there was tape showing our kicker saying that was a stupid call? I have read that somewhere or perhaps it was Andrew who was seen muttering that, I don't recall.
Each Loss brings us closer...

He didn't have much to do with that first team. Arians was the Coach of the Year.
