There were a lot of complaints, and not a lot of confidence about his catching ability (catches with his body) but this season Moncreif has stepped up. That fade TD was all hands, and he even broke up an INT. He is 22, and can only get better. What a great sophomore season so far, and as teams start to cover him more heavily it will open up the option to TY and Andrew.
Also, anyone else notice that when he scores someone throws up the Ole Miss "Landshark" TY did it this week and 3 games ago Luck did it as well
-
TY is a better receiver but hopefully moncrief can develop to where its like a tie for #1
-
Did anyone else see him on Fleener's TD? blocked TWO defenders on that TD. He has been doing it all season. I am pumped and glad he got more snaps than Nicks

Grew up in the town of Raleigh Mississippi. A 3A high school in one of the poorest counties, in one of the poorest counties in the nation. A 3 star recruit, he committed to Ole Miss and his sophomore year he dominated with the phrase "Feed Moncrief" becoming very popular including a song that was written (check it out on youtube but it kinda sucks but its fun) he has a daughter and left for the draft early in order to support her and his family.
I love the reason why he left for the draft. He knew he would't be a first round pick but he did it to get the money to support his family. I don't care what people say about him leaving early, but I think he has one of the few legitimate reasons to leave for the money.
Love the way he has played, and he plays with emotion. Hell just check out how he blocks on running plays (I.E. 4th quarter against the Jaguars). Gives it his all, and hope to see more of him

TY is going insane. In 2 years he will be the talk of the league
-
Wow he showed out today. Very impressive TD catch, and he needs to see the field more often. over 100 yards receiving, and his first game where he has been targeted more than 5 times and look at the results. I know everyone is saying this but jesus put him on the field more

I WANNA FEED MONCRIEF
-
ok, let moncrief get some playing time. 0 thrown to last week, and I wanna see what he can do in the first half.
-
As an Ole miss fan and have been following Moncrief his entire career, including his high school ball at Raleigh High School In Mississippi, I can tell you he can go deep. I would like to see Luck throw it deep to him because with his size, and his speed, and his vertical, it can be pretty difficult to spot. Just look at his highlights against texas in 2012
-
Let Moncrief Develop. Nicks is doing well, and the colts are winning. I would like to see Moncrief a little bit more in the first half just to see what he can really do. FEED HIM
-
Ok we got a lead and I would like to see what the rookies have……..FEED MONCRIEF
-
Don't know if anyone saw, but I am very impressed by Moncriefs blocking ability. Did anyone else how he blocked for Bradshaw? He did the same at Ole Miss. The key to outside running is WR blocking and this kid has got it
-
Dexter Mccluster. The only reason I am a colts is because I live in Oxford Mississippi and have been an Ole Miss fan my whole life. After following Mccluster's career with the chiefs, he is explosive. We have to watch out for him on kick offs and punt returns, as well as sometimes the bubble passes. If he gets into open field, he is gone. He is not the titans superstar or even anywhere near super relevant, but he could be a factor.
Michael Oher has had an OK career in the NFL, but nothing like the way the Blind Side portrays it. The left side of their O line is decently weak so it could be a hole

Hopefully this showed the coaches what moncrief can do. With no status on TY's ankle, this might let Donte really let lose.. Now of course TY is a tough cookie and will be fine for the next game I'm sure, but Im ready to start feeding moncrief

So i know that a lot of people really liked this pick but I have seen quite a few who haven't and after doing some research I will tell you why this was a good pick:
First, he's a fighter. He grew up in a poor town in Mississippi using sprite bottles with rocks as a football. He has never had the upper hand and is willing to give it his all. He has to do well because he left early to support his father who has bone cancer and his 18 month old daughter. He will not just quite.
Second, this was a pick for the future. With Nicks and Wayne getting older and coming off an injury, this could be one of their final seasons. This gives time for Moncrief to develop under them as well as TY Hilton to become a better player. He will be ready to step up and fill the hole when one of our top receivers leaves.
Third, he was too good to pass up. Most experts predicted him going in the second round after a fantastic combine. The fact that he was still available in the third round was to much to give up. Bleacher report considered him a steal in the draft. He is 6'2 and 220 pounds as well as being able to run. Fast. He recorded a 4.34 40 which probably will not be consistent but we know he can get up there. He had an 11 foot broad jump and is coming from the SEC, which is almost consensus the best ability in college football where he recorded 14.6 yards per catch. In 2012 against LSU, he caught a pass, out juked and then outran current Pro Bowl safety Eric Reid.
Added Bonus, he goes out there and blocks for running backs and screen plays. He is willing go give it his all on every play to help his teammates.
He is not a #1 receiver, but could very much be a Lance Moore kind of player. Great Pick and I am ready and as they said at Ole Miss and I will say this year, Feed Moncrief!

looking good

Ok, I am a totally bandwagon Ole Miss fan that followed Moncrief to the NFL because I like ole miss players doing well better than certain teams. As a season ticket holder, I have seen him play many times. He is fast. If anyone watched the 2012 Ole Miss LSU game he caught a pass at the 50 and out juked pro bowl rookie Eric Reid for a touchdown. He is fast. He could be 4.3 fast but not consistently. He is not a mike wallace (also out of ole miss) but he can run vertically. Its when he cuts that he slows down.
Here is the bottom line about Moncrief: The Kid is devoted. He loves fans, loves his team, and his school. The only reason he left early is because he has a daughter and is from one of the poorest towns in Mississippi an his family desperately needs money. He works hard, and has big play ability. He will block to save anyones life on running or screen plays.
He does catch with his body, but he will use his hands if needed. He does not cut sharp, and it slows him down. On the upside, he is strong and a fighter. I hope that Feed Moncrief will catch on in Indy because currently this is my new favorite team due to him
-
Its just a bad habit that needs to broken. Wayne will help him hopefully and the hands can be fixed. The most important thing is that Moncrief will go out there and block on running and screen plays. He is willing to give it his all
-
Moncrief could, but not likely be a #1 on an NFL team. his 4.4 combine speed was good, but that is the fastest anyone has seen him go. He is a more consistent 4.49-4.55 range. However, his hands and route running will improve if Wayne is willing to work with him. I could see Moncrief as a possible Marques Colston. And I don't know about the starters. With Nicks and Wayne getting older, it will help the younger guys get more playing time. Anyways Feed Moncrief!

It was a fantastic pick. Everyone is saying that he was the steal of the draft. Experts said that he could be an early second round pick and we got him in the late third. I will take it and yes he will not be an asset this year, but he will learn from Wayne and Nicks to be a huge contributor down the road. We were thinking of the future with this pick

The Story of Donte Moncrief:
He comes from the poor town of Raleigh Mississippi which has a population of 1500 people. As a kid he did not have enough money to buy a football so he and his friends played with empty coke bottles filled with rocks. He was offered a scholarship to Ole Miss where he quickly became the name of the School. "Feed Moncrief" became the big thing and there was a song, t shirts, and a huge saying. He stated that he declared for the draft early because his family has no money. He has a 3 year old daughter who lives with his parents in a 1 room house.
This kid is not like a lot of people in the NFL. He had to fight for everything. The kid is a fighter, and willing to learn. I think Wayne will teach him this season so next season when he really can step up, he will have better hands and will make an immediate impact. I love this pick and cannot wait.
Feed Moncrief!

TY is the only WR under contract this season so if Nicks leaves and Wayne retires, this could be a solid pick up. ANd He gets to play a year under Wayne which will help tremendously. #feedmoncrief

Kids Great. Life Long Ole Miss fan and I prefer to follow players from Ole miss rather than certain teams. Hopefully he can produce. The big thing at Ole Miss was "Feed Moncrief" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUxbIxCRcAs highlights of 2012 egg bowl with the song feed moncrief which kinda sucks, but they played it twice for the first time when he scored and it was awesome. Anyways, the song sucks but Ole Miss fans are gonna try to keep the "Feed Moncrief" thing going. There were Ole MIss shirts with feed moncrief on it and everything so yea looking forward to watching some colts
Donte Moncrief.....3rd round steal

this yes I agree play to our strengths. For us to play that well against the patriots, I mean we still lost but they are super bowl favorites as of currently. We also should be blessed that our devision is so bad this year
