  1. Even a couple of the unmentioned undrafted WRs like Bug Howard(6'4) and JoJo Natson(speedy return man) have a fairly decent shot at making the roster. Rogers can return punts and he is a much better receiver than Bray is, so if Natson is a better receiver than Bray and he cak return kicks just as well.... then I can see Natson making the roster with Bug Howard going to the practice squad, unless we decide to also ditch Dorsett being that Aiken, Rogers and Natson can absorb those targets. Dorsett is also out with an ankle injury as of the 14th.

  2. TE and RB we need for sure.
We also need 2 corners and a safety.... or 1 corner and 1 CB/S tweener.
Edge rusher is also an obvious major need, as is ILB and a defensive lineman are big needs as well. So that is all 7 picks right there. 4 or 5 picks going on defense and 2 or 3 on offense.

1st Rd(15) ILB Reuben Foster or RB Christian McCaffrey
Foster if he is there, or get 1 of the top 3 RBs who all look to have pro bowl talent.
Edge rusher Derek Barnett, Taco Charlton or ILB/OLB Haasan Reddick also look nice.

2nd Rd(46) CB Adoree Jackson or CB Fabian Moreau or S Obi Melifonwu
or go offense if Foster falls to us.... RB Alvin Kamara, TE Bucky Hodges

    3rd Rd(80) Edge rusher
DE/OLB Derek Rivers or DE/OLB DeMarcus Walker

4th Rd(121) CB Wilson Howard if he is still there, or DTs Vanderdoes, Adams, Qualls
or RB here at pick 121...
RB D'Onta Foreman, Marlon Mack, Samaje Perine, Jeremy McNichols

4th Rd(137)(144) Secondary depth or Edge rusher
CB Shaquill Griffin, CB Damontae Kazee, or OLB Devonte Fields

5th Rd (158) CB Corn Elder or S Xavier Woods

I have excluded the offensive line because I just don't think we need it. I think the guys we have can get the job done and with what we hit on in this draft, frees us up next draft so we can still use our top pick to upgrade at RG or RT.

But if we did get a offensive lineman, I would like to see us get Dan Feeney from IU in the 2nd Rd if he is still there, which'd de a potential double steal if we got both him and Foster at these spots.

  3. Heck, lets really bite the bullet and sign not only Hankins and Brown, but Revis as well to play alongside Davis.  Our defense would be stout with these 3 additions and they won't break the bank and we won't have to rely on nailing every draft pick. Revis would be the only one that might be getting overpaid, but that would only be on a 1-2 year deal.

I don't see anyone projecting McCaffrey going to the Colts, yet I hear some experts putting McCaffrey above Fournette. He is from Stanford so you know the kid is smart and we have a good track record with Stanford players. He excels at everything, plus who was the last good white boy running back n the NFL? Peyton Hillis? Madden curse got him and he wasn't even half as versatile as McCaffrey who can not only receive like a receiver(top 5 WR as well as top 3 RB) but he can also return the ball. We have like 3 or 4 guys that take turns as the returner, McCaffrey allows us to pretty much cut all those guys.

We need to sign a couple more guys so we can pick the best player on the board come our turn in the draft. As it stands, we still have too many holes to do that. McCaffrey could step in immediately and provide 50 yards of offense running and catching the ball. 8-10 carries for Gore and Turbin both and just 4-6 for McCaffrey while giving him another 4-6 targets in the passing game. And when Gore retires after this season, or next, then McCaffrey still compliments Turbin perfectly.

If we signed these 3 players, and took McCaffrey with the first pick, then we could get another edge rusher in the 2nd and a CB in the 3rd to replace Revis in his 2nd or 3rd year.
  4. The reason there isn't more CBs in the mocks is because it is so deep at the position.
There is a steep drop off at nearly every other position but CB, TE and S.
The difference between a 1st round edge rusher and a 2nd rd is miles apart, but with CB this year we can get a guy in the 2nd or possibly even the 3rd rd who can perform equal too or even better than a CB drafted in the 1st.

I think we will forever regret not taking RB McCaffrey. RB might not be the biggest need, but we can definitely use one and we can still use a receiver, and a return man. Bite the bullet and sign Hankins and Revis. With these 3 the only thing we are missing is another edge rusher, inside LB and maybe an Olineman, but those 2 things are desperately needed.

Heck, really bite the bullet and sign not only Hankins and Revis, but Zach Brown as well. Give Hankins a 1 year deal like Poe, Revis a 2 year front loaded deal and Brown a multiple year deal for an average of about $5 million. Our defense would be stout with these 3 additions and they won't break the bank and we won't have to rely on nailing every draft pick.

  5. I like the pick up. He can get the job done while a young guy learns.
I expect our 2nd or 3rd pick to be a safety, with our 1st being a big bodied defensive lineman.
Malcom Brown if he falls to us. With our 2nd I would like to see CB Quinten Rollins. Someone that can step in and play either the #1 or #2 CB position if Toler or Davis miss a few games, but we can groom him for S. Mike Adams is 34 and is one injury away from retirement. Lowery is not a long term solution either and Rollins can end up replacing him by the season's halfway mark.

For our 3rd pick I would like o see Jaquiski Tartt. If we managed to steal Malcom Brown, Quinten Rollins and Jaquiski Tartt, those would be 3 guys to build our defense around.

But I wouldn't rule out a LT with our 1st pick if T.J. Clemmings is there and Malcom Brown is not, and here is why...
Gosder Cherillus. Cherillus is an injury ? mark for us, and even when 100% healthy he is not playing up to his bloated contract. Castanzo has been solid for us, but he makes for a much better RT. Clemmings is a future dominant LT, he can immediately step in at RT and switch to LT once he gets used to the speed of the NFL. We have to resign Luck and Hilton next year, and Cherillus will count toward $9-$10 million of our salary unless we cut him now. Clemmings is possibly the best LT in this year's draft and getting the best LT at pick 29 is a steal and it would give Luck his hard to find future LT the rest of his career.
