  1. Peyton currently is not playing, our quarterback right now is Dan Orlovsky, which is scary to think. Because if we don't pick Luck in the draft and the worst case scenario is Peyton has to retire due to his injury we blow a pick on some some defensive linemen or receiver or something and once again go 0-16 next season with the same stable of poor, embarrassing quarterbacks.

And then you look back on the 2012 draft 15 years from now and shake your head knowing you could have had the highest rated QB since Elway, but you chose not too for some completely asinine reason. That's how people lose jobs and lose a fan base.

  2. If there's a chance a player will get some playing time in they don't go on IR.

IR is not a place to hide someone. Imagine you don't want to cut someone over the 53 man roster so you IR him. I doubt the NFL would approve.

Now he could go on the practice squad:)

I am 99.99999% sure he can't go on the practice squad because he's played more than 3 years. And even if he was eligible we would have to release him, which would make him susceptible to waivers. And I wish you all the best with that one.

Then again you could be completely sarcastic and I failed to catch on :shh:

  3. When you have pushover DT's in the middle the O-line can double the ends.

Which is why you send a blitz when you can't generate pressure with four guys. But defensively our team is still stuck in 2002 and thinks the Cover-2 is still an effective scheme and absolutely refuses to send an extra man, which is part of the reason why we are winless. Completely ignore the best defensive teams in the league the last few seasons have been the Steelers, Ravens, Jets, Chargers, Packers and Saints. All blitz heavy aggressive teams.

Caldwell and all his little Tampa-2 Dungy disciples can get kicked swiftly out the door by Jim Irsay at the end of the season. For the good of the franchise.

  4. I'm sorry, but any guy who claims he sees better WR's in Cowboy's practice than Calvin Johnson shouldn't even have a job in the NFL, let alone a head coaching job.

You don't want your coach being confident in his players? You honestly think he believes Dez Bryant is better than Calvin Johnson? Give me a break. This is why Rex and Rob Ryan win games and championships and Jim Caldwell cant avoid a very possible 0-16.

  5. A definition of a good coach, Jim Harbaugh. Essentially the same roster, minus talented players like Takeo Spikes and Aubrayo Franklin and he has that team playing miles better than at any time last season under Mike Singletary. The guys are focused, hungry and are playing at a higher level this season than last. heck, Alex Smith looks like a legitimate NFL quarterback!

A definition of a bad coach is a guy who can't get his players to play hard(a recent Sunday night game comes to mind), can't make in-game adjustments, has poor clock management, and can't win. The players reflect their coach.

  6. The Tampa-2 system really had to go. It's completely outdated, today the defenses that succeed are heavy pressure and aggressive units. This is why year after year teams like the Steelers, the Ravens and the Jets are at the top. Just sitting back, only sending 4 guys play after play is just asking the opposition to throw 3 points minimum on the board.

We got away with that year after year because Peyton was throwing up 7 every trip. The fact of the matter is Peyton is almost done. He's playing until his current contract runs out or feels he isn't fit enough to play and that's it. There won't be another Peyton Manning. Ever, and then we'll be a perennial 8-8 team at best using that scheme. Which is why the entire defensive coaching staff and head coach needs to go at the end of the season. Bring in someone who isn't scared to attack defensively.
