and if they explained it to the fans that they were not going to do it as a sign of respect to them both Manning and Irsay would be commended

Matt Ryan is a complete dog. On the ESPN message boards I already listed the Failcons as a new team I think that should be interested in Manning. Seriously they can find another Matt Ryan if Manning doesn't work out. Atlanta needs a big time QB and the risk is worth it for them. Matt Ryan is not the answer in Atlanta.

if either Peyton Manning or Jim Irsay care about the fans they would not hold this horrid press conference if it involves Peyton Manning being released. Who says they have to feed the media circus ? Seriously there is time to change plans and just release him quietly like any other player in any other sport. It is bad enough he is leaving and so do we need to blow it up even more and make fans suffer for that hour or more press conference ?

What is worse than 0-7 ? I think what is worse than 0-7 is having a team that has an owner that has no clue that Caldwell is a bum and was a bum choice as a head coach from the beginning. What is worse is having an owner that didn't think to fire Caldwell after the SB fiasco and then topping it off with Timeout Terrible Inc. last year throughout the season. What is worse is having a team that is 0-7 and has a GM in Polian that hasn't drafted well at all for years now and said ok to hiring Caldwell. LOLOLOLOL

Has anyone mentioned Caldwell sending out Matt Stover, the geezer with no range left in his kicking leg, to kick a 51 yd FG in the SB as being a stupid move ? Seriously I was yelling at the tv that night when he sent him out there. At that point in the game it also didn't call for this kind of risk. Caldwell with his poor timeout calls and now with Saturday ripping him openly after this game it is time to send him packing. What is sad is that the Polians may get away with hanging around when they agreed to let him come in and coach and also have drafted very poorly as of late and have been too O focused for years with this team. Caldwell and Polian deserve to go !

Any reasonably intelligent person who knows anything about the NFL can tell that Caldwell should not be coaching in the NFL. It has nothing to do with this season either. He got outcoached in the SB when he sent Stover out to kick a 51 yd FG when the guy has no range and is 100 years old and on top of that it just wasn't called for at that time of the game. Caldwell, along with Manning, went away from a run game that was working in that SB for no good reason. Caldwell also has shown he has no clue how to use timeouts which almost cost us the division title and a playoff spot last year and did cost us some wins but he also helped the Jets get in one more play in that playoff game which sealed the deal on getting the Jets an easy chip shot FG vs a long one. The guy is brain dead. Seriously fire him and move on.

My gut feeling honestly says I feel bad about Manning having to leave under these circumstances and that really despite me wanting him to catch Brady for SBs I believe Manning would underthrow his WRs and throw everything and anything underneath and to the sidelines and teams will jump on it even more than in past years when his arm/shoulder was already weak. Peyton will never catch Brady for SBs. Peyton is a train wreck waiting to happen. We should be thankful it won't happen in Indy.
