  1. He was drafted #3 overall for a reason.  He rushed for 950 yards and had 10+ TDs in his rookie year.  With training camp with the Colts, we will have better knowledge of the offensive scheme.  With are o-line improved next year, the NFL better watch out for Trent Richardson.  He will be the one laughing last.

I have to say that he had enough chance already, if not being at the Colts training camp was an issue then by week 12 he should have shown improvement. Really do not know what additional time will do to him, but hopefully if he works out great and all are happy, else as folks have mentioned we can take our losses and part ways in a graceful way. None the less wish him the best for the off season.

PS: Have a feeling with that stutter step he is the second coming of latter half of Joe Addai.

  2. I think trading for T-Rich was a desperate move to reinforce our backfield after both Ballard and Bradshaw went down for the season. IMO without those injuries we hadn't traded for T-Rich. It looked  logical step, T-Rich was a first rounder with a solid rookie-season under his belt and looked a long term solution on RB post. It could have worked, but it hasn't.

T-Rich was in tough situation, he was just dumped by his team, and had to prove himself in a new environment, in a new scheme, under a totally different coaching staff. Plus IMO his abilities weren't utilized in right way...coaching staff should forfeit this 'power running' thing.

My educated guess is that he will have an off-season, training camps and preseason to prove himself as a Colt. If he can't show up, he will be likely cut. Just my 2 cents. I'm really worried/anxious about our RB-stable.

Sorry only Ballard was out, Trent and Bradshaw played in the SF game. :) .  I was not a fan of the trade then, had it been a second rounder, may be yeah. I will not be surprised if Trent has the same kind of year again, but I am hoping to be proved wrong.

  3. 1 . Interior O-line, Hugh Thornton is okay but need some good guard and center play if we intend to dominate the run game.  May be we can get Munchak as a coach

1A Safeties--is it just me or Landry seemed out of position most of the times or was trying to make Sportscenter tackles. Bethea, love what he has done but seems to have lost a step

1B. We got beefy with the D-line but for can't seem to stop the run..

  4. Im almost to the point of beileving we need to blitz every down, yes 100% of the time. I can't even call our pass rush a pass rush because that would be offensive to pass rushers.

No, In indy we produce pass dust

Pass Dust - Insignificant obstacle en route to unattainable aspirations

I do not think you want to blitz Peyton, he would tear us apart.  I do agree that our pass rush leaves a lot to be desired.

  5. K so where would we be without Richardson? With Ballard and Bradshaw down, Brown is not a starting RB. He's a change of pace back. Without T-Rich we wouldn't have a RB.

Richardson trade does not look good right now but I do hope that he is able have a couple of good games. I was hoping this would be his breakout game against an average defense, and may be this was his best game from the ypc perspective.

  6. It was embarrassing to see him on the field. He looks fat n out of shape. There have to way better LBs on a local semi pro team

At the first look I thought that some DL was playing LB. waaayyyy too slow.  How in the world did we keep this player.

  7. Pro football reference did an article on field position for the last 20 years for playoff games.

Warren Moon had the second worst, if I remember right. THE worst playoff game field position for an offense was the 2008 Scifres-and-Sproles-lights-out playoff game the Colts played the Chargers. The third worst was the Colts again in the Saints-Colts SB. Let us remember this. The Saints shortened the game and dinked and dunked us all the way through the second half of that SB. They had 3 offensive possessions - 18 points. NO PUNTS. That included the possession they gained from the onside kick, obviously. Then the pick six happened.

I don't care if it is Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Elway or Peyton, the QB needs help with field position from ST and D (turnovers or punts). The reason the Steelers, despite digging an 0-14 hole, and being down 3-21 in the SB vs the Packers in the recent SB, were able to come back, was because their D was aggressive and forced a lot of punts putting the ball back in Big Ben and the offense's hands. They cut it to 21-17, then the Mendenhall turnover happened.

Well said. I have always believed that special teams need to provide a good field position. When the best KO return part in the team is "take a knee" and the best punt return is "fair catch" then we have issues. Heck I have observed that we even fair catch about our 40 yd. line. From that perspective, the Bears special teams do an awesome job( Devin Hester is a big part) they do some creative return play calling. So, the point being even when our defense forces a punt from the oppositions own 10 yd line range we still end up going 60 yds (assuming fair catch and 50yd punt).

On the defense side, I think our one play call is no different then the other one. At some point during the game once Freeney has a sack, teams actively chip him with a RB or plain double team him( We sometimes see that there is a blatant hold against him that is not called, but that is for a different time and different thread). Even then we do not and may be cannot overload on any of our end sides to send in a blitz (let me not even contemplate Cover 0 blitz). In short sometimes seems a lack of innovation. Once in a while it would be nice to see some bump and run played by our DBs. I cannot recall when I last saw it.

  8. we would trade up a spot for luck. i would bet $$$ on it. no way we stay at #2 and go OL again.

Hopefully, BP does a decent trade. I kinda was flirting with the thought and also hoping that Painter plays decent this year and we can put him in the trade mix, but today's performance just quashed all those things.
