  1. I think we will find that Jackson will be a bigger factor in the run game than some people think. I'll take a sure tackler with great awareness any day with great instincts any day. I that in the wake of him signing with the colts people have pulled up a few key plays where he lost his footing or overcommitted and deemed him bad against the run. I have yet to see a play, besides the occasional fluke which happens cause no one is perfect, where he made an egregious error against the run. I haven't gotten through all his snaps yet...but I am not seeing the terrible run play I keep reading about.

I think colts fans have no idea what a great ilb is. I mean think about it, when was the last great colts ilb?

  2. Hate to say it but Jackson won't help our run Defense... He can tackle but is almost a liability against the run it seems. He does take up blockers then chase but that's about it. He is more of a coverage linebacker for sure. Maybe it's how Cleveland used him the past couple years

I've heard he's a bad player to stop the run. I've also heard he's a bad player in pass coverage. Can someone explain to me which one is correct? I'm going to put the unpopular obvious out here: our run defense will never be great until Mathis retires. Anyone who watched our games noticed how horrendous our run defense to his side was. He shoots up the field to get to the qb so quickly and no one else maintains the edge. Why do you think we gave up so many big outside runs? Walden did a damned good job setting the other side of the field for the most part.

  3. I think werner will take a jump this year. I don't really ever see him as an every down OLB but I think they will use him in ways that he can put some pressure on in situations.

Really? You've already inferred that a rookie playing a brand new position injured for nearly half the year can't be an every down olb?

  4. I saw the same thing and was going to respond in the comments section, but when I went there, a number of other posters had already beaten me to it.

Jones will play the nose on 3rd down to get a push up the middle. He's not projected as the starting NT?!? No.

I don't even know if Jones will start with Redding on one side and RJF on the other. But start or not, it wouldn't surprise me if he plays more total snaps than either CR or RJF. And that's what matters.

I was not impressed by the Wells article.... he took a hit on that....

    He'll start over Francois lol

  5. why? the raiders have made some nice moves. tuck woodley james jones penn, traded for shaub. raiders could be an interesting team to watch this year.

Tuck Woodley schaub mjd? Maybe if this was 2010 lol

  6. I guess you're too busy slowly walking behind your victims while they run into the woods & trip on an invisible stick to read the forum Michael

But the Grigson bashing on here is endless. You'd be surprised what people say about Grigson, Pep, & Chuck

Oh well I guess you're right, the Richardson fiasco won't end until he has a good season next year, which I'm positive he will, he's too good of a talent. And then the anger about how our project pass rusher didn't get 10 sacks, or how Khaled, even though he didn't play last year, is a bust. I see your point.

  7. Andrew doesn't run the fastest. Andrew isn't the most agile. Andrew isn't the strongest. Andrew doesn't have the strongest arm. Andrew doesn't have the best touch. Andrew isn't the most accurate. Andrew isn't the most aware. So what makes him the best? Well, he balances those traits better than nearly everyone else. Andrew Luck and Cam Newton are hands down the most balanced quarterbacks in the league as far as athleticism, arm talent, and awareness. Once Peyton, Tom, Drew, and Aaron are out of the the league, Luck and Newton will be the elite. They might never be prototypical passers like those four, but the perfect balance those two have might make them more dangerous and better football players when it's all said in done. That being said, Rodgers is only 30, so Luck might have to wait a long time to take the spotlight. But as it stands right now, the elite is Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers. Luck and Cam are in the franchise player category. Below that you have the Tony Romos, Matt Ryans, and Philip Rivers'. Who knows where RGIII and Kaepernick fit yet, both are the best speedsters but neither have proved they can throw the ball well. Kaepernick wings it with zero arc, and Griffin can't throw it down the field unless he bombs it or dink n dunks; he can't hit mid routes.

  8. What do you mean we don't need him. That weakness we have at nose tackle is why teams run all over the Colts. Wilfork would have to pass a physical and I assume he already has. I would sure rather seem them throw some $ at him than the fortune they are consider on a center. No center is worth what it will take to get Mack. Draft one.

I'd argue our inability to stop the run is mostly on the subpar linebacker play.
