  1. The STAR (RATS) News is saying from left to right:

Unidentified person, Wayne, Luck, Avery and Whalen.

No way that fourth guy is Avery, is it?

I know the other posts say Avery wayne Luck Brazil Whalen but the 1st guy in the pic cant be avery unless his height is wrong on the roster chart because according to it he is 5'11 and wayne is 6'0 the guy to the left of wayne in the pic is taller than him so that don't add up i believe The STAR News is right on this one.

  2. Drake Nevis- Started out great last year, i really liked what I seen in 2011 preseason, then he got injured so I hope he can come back from his injury and reak havic.

Darren Evans- I know he will probably either be cut or end up being like 4th string and only see playing time on special teams but I was really hoping to see what he could bring to the table. After watching him in preseason last year i thought he should've been 2nd or 3rd string. With all the competition and investments the organization has in other running it'll be extremely hard for Evans but i really think he has potential. If the colts drop him i hope he shines, if just given the opportunity i think he will be a very solid RB.

Ben Ijalana- I don't know much about him and we didn't get to see much out of him last year but with most of the 0-line being up in the air I hope he steps up and proves to be a solid 2nd rd pick, and helps sturdy up our 0-line. Theres still alot of ?s about his health as well so im hoping hes back to 100% by preseason.

Donnie Avery/TY Hilten- I'm also anxious to see if either of these guys can step up and be our #2 WR. I know most of you are going to say we already have a #2 in Collie and as much as i like collie (I and my fiance both have his jersey) i don't think hes a proven #2, he's a great slot receiver but i'm not sure if he has the speed and big play making ability to be a real great outside receiver. So I'm hoping Avery has the speed he claims and can learn to run crisp routes for Luck. The biggest thing i want to see out of Hilten is if he can be that big play maker on ST like a josh cribbs, leon washington, devin hester etc.

  3. 1.Luck QB

2.Janoris Jenkins CB {top 15 talent too good to pass up even with the off field concerns)

3.Sanu or AJ Jenkins WR(atleast 1 will be there)

    4.Ladarius Green TE

    5.Nicolas Jean Baptiste NT

    6.Vontaz Burfict LB(upgrade over conner)

    7.Deangelo Peterson TE

    7. Bradie Ewing FB

I love this, I know it's just dreaming that we'd get all these players exactly like that but if we could I'd be stoaked, probably the best draft prediction ive seen so far. I really like sanu and hed be an immediate starter, Green is ok not the greatest but an upgrade from what we have now and if we could get Jean Baptise in the 5th that would be awesome! However I don't think with the limited NT's in the draft that he will make it to the 5th ( not saying everybody on here is wrong it's just my personal opinion). But if it all worked out the way you predict i'd be very happy. nice post!
  4. My revised mock looked like this

    1.Luck

    2.Fleener

    3.Janoris Jenkins

4.Ladarius Green (Which would give us a serious two tight end threat)

    5.Hicks

    5.Streeter

    6.Guard

    7.Whalen

    7.Blatnick

    7.could use a Tackle I guess

    something to that affect BUT

I like this second one better

    1.Luck

    2.Janoris Jenkins

3.AJ Jenkins, Criner, Sanu, Best available

    4.Ladarius Green

    5.Hicks

    5.Streeter

    6.Guard

    7.Whalen

    7.Blatnick

7.Tight End (Pass Catching as well)

not a huge change but different

    Thoughts?

My thoughts are Jenkins will not be there in the 3rd round and we need to get a quality NT between rounds 2-4.
  5. The Defense is shaping up but I still think wed be alot better off if we resigned Jamaal Anderson and Philip Wheeler. I don't understand this because I would think they would come cheap and are already proven to be talented players. We also still have to get a couple good NT's because just one quality true NT will not be enough those guys have to be big high motor guys which therefore can't stay on the field long. We will more than likely fill one of the holes through the draft but I hop they sign a decent free agent as well. But all in all I don't think our D is as far off as most think. On offense though we need some major help, obviously we need a QB, we don't have a single quality TE on the roster, I was really hoping we'd sign Kevin Boss or Scott Chandler or atleast get Tamme back (which I still raelly hope happens!!) and although I really like the guy and am a huge fan I don't see Austin collie being a great outside receiver so we need to get someone in the draft that is going to be an immediate starter. I know I'm in the minority but I believe our O-line will be fine not great but decent and I like our RB's, Donald Brown still needs to prove himself worthy of that 1st round pick, but Delone Carter is going to be a very solid RB and If given the chance to show what hes got I think Darren Evans is a good back as well.

  6. It's hard, well impossible, to tell how Irsay and Griggs are going to approach the draft strategy. Considering we have such broad ranging needs across the board, offense and defense, they may take the strategy of bulking up the offense this year and subsequently bulking up the defense next year. Typically they try to strike a balance but even in the best cases a team only gets 2-3 high quality picks. The rest are considerably more of a gamble.

The way I see it, if we want Fleener, we can have him.

This is very true I just don't think taking a TE as high as our 2nd rd pick would be very smart considering all the other needs we have on the team we have far bigger needs than TE IMO, but if we do have to take a TE in this yrs draft then yeah they probably better take him because this years TE class is pretty thin from what ive seen thus far.

  7. I would like for them to get rid of Clark and Brody and sign Scott Chandler from Buffalo hes an up and comer that would not break the bank with great height and is a big target in the endzone. However I don't see this happening since Clark is still under contract for a healthy amount of $ so we'd have to release him if were going to move on because I don't see any teams trading for him. I also think Cody Fleener is going to be a good TE but the colts probably wont get him because he is more than likely going to go in the 2nd round and the colts are not going to use there second round pick on a TE.

  8. Before tonight, I was of the opinion that we should trade the #1 pick for value. After seeing Luck play, I would feel cheated if Indy didn't select him. The man was absolutely amazing. His grasp of the game was phenomenal...stunningly similar to someone else we know and love...

I feel the exact same way. Ive been saying for awhile that We should trade the pick for a few other picks and build the team this year with alot of draftees and that Peyton could turn any late 1st or 2nd rounder into a great QB. But after watching that game last night wow all I kept thinking was this kid looks like a younger Peyton, we have to take this kid. He appears to already be ready to take an NFL team to the playoffs. He must have really payed alot of attention at Mannings QB camp haha.
  9. If you do read this

Get Mike Zimmer as Hc plz

I agree with you 100% enough with the hire jeff fisher threads mike zimmer would make a great head coach, especially if we are going to start rebuilding. I would be ok with Fisher because he is a big improvement from Caldwell but Zimmer as our new head coach would be awesome!
  10. So basically what you're saying (and by basically, I mean exactly what you wrote) is that in 1997 you WITH OUT A DOUBT would have rather seen the Colts win one more game and draft Ryan Leaf, then get Peyton Manning.......... Yeah, I believe you......

So basically what you're saying (and by basically, I mean exactly what you wrote) is that in 1997 you WITH OUT A DOUBT would have rather seen the Colts win one more game and draft Ryan Leaf, then get Peyton Manning.......... Yeah, I believe you......

Whos to say we wouldn't have gotten Peyton Manning anyways? If you remember It was a toss up who would be picked first Manning or Leaf. Unless you could tell the future back in 97 and knew the colts would have the record they had and end up with Peyton Manning. You never know in this league who may end up coming out of the draft and being you're future franchise player, so I root the team on and let the chips lie where they fall and hope they take the best man on the board which they did when they took Peyton Manning. He happened to be one of the players that panned out and became one of the best QBs ever to play the game. Whos to say Luck will end up with more rings and a better future than Landry Jones or RGIII? Landry Jones could end up being the next Peyton Manning and Luck the next Ryan Leaf nobody can predict these kind of things.
  11. What kind of colts fans are you people? True fans want Andrew Luck yes but nothing trumps winning. Even if it is only a 2-13 record this team deserved that win. I for 1 was super excited when Reggie caught that pass with only seconds left in the game. I want Luck just as much as anybody but would NEVER hope for my team to lose no matter who we may get in the draft. These guys are professionals let them have their glory because God knows it's been a long long time since they've had anything to hold their heads up to lately. As long as Peyton is healthy we don't need Luck anyways, as long as they have Peyton to mentor them and listen and watch all the things he says and does any of the top 4 QBs coming out of this draft will end up being real solid QBs in the future. Peyton has never had any talent on the bench to mentor. The colts have never used any low picks on QBs in Peytons era, all hes had to work with was undrafted free agents and guys like Sorgi and Painter. Look at Andy Dalton, he didn't get picked untill pretty close to the middle of the 2nd round in last yrs draft and look how he's turned out(and thats without a guy like Peyton being on the roster to learn from let me mind you). This is all assuming Peyton will be back next yr but as long as he is we will be just fine. But even if he's not back next year I would never root for my team to lose especially not on our turf in Lucas Oil, and if I was a player and read some of the comments people post on here I'd lose alot of respect for all the fans here in Colts Nation.

  12. I was looking forward to this thread...I'm ready to hear all the people from last week who said Danny was the real deal and that we would have won all these games with him and how we were going to win out tell me they were wrong and they are sorry for even suggesting such lunacy.

I think it's funny to..... Put Painter in! Painter has really matured he's playing really well! Painter sucks! Give Orlovsky a shot! Orlovsky played great! We should have put Orlovsky in weeks ago! Orlovsky sucks! hahahahahah
  13. I think our D played well actually given the circumstances

It's more the horrible defensive philosophy and coaching than it is the players. Our D plays soft 7-10 yrds off the line of scrimmage every game then when we dig ourselves into a hole we can't climb out of (without manning there to clean it up for them) then they decide to actually start playing a little more agressive man to man. So much for being happy about D coordinator getting fired, I guess atleast I had a week to be optimistic that our D would improve.
  14. Head coach, defensive coordinator, and special teams coaches all have to go! Murphy needs to go back to LB coach and get a Mike Zimmer type coach for coordinator. And whoever Irsay hires to coach this team has to be able to call the shots with the players and play calling because if they keep letting polian run the show and hiring yes men our horrible defensive philosophy and play calling will never change.

  15. When your offensive line lets you get absolutely destroyed the way the colts O-line has today I don't blame Orlovsky for this game at all. We've got an all pro center a 1st round rookie and an average takle (Diem). Besides those 3 our line is full of below average lineman that no other team wanted like the colts have had for years. Then the defense he has to rely on to help him out cant do nothing but slow down the run. If Flacco would've just thrown the ball on every snap he would have completed 10 yrd pass after 10 yrd pass. 8 plays TD, 8 plays TD, 8 plays TD all day. Our defensive philosophy is horrendous!!!! I'm not saying Orlovsky is our savior or even a good QB by any means but this team has ALOT more things to worry about than the QB position. I am a die hard colts fan, have been to 3 games this season and watch every game every week, but this is getting embarrassing Irsay has got to do something or he's going to lose his players and alot of fans and I'd hate to see that.

  16. I think even if its still unknown how well manning will be able to play by draft day we should still trade the pick. we could get a healthy deal for that 1st overall pick. Alot of teams will want Luck, we could still get a very high caliber QB in the second round. Look at Andy Dalton and the other 2nd round QB's that came out last year there just as good as the ones that got picked in the 1st (besides Cam Newton). Theres going to be about 4 QBs in this years draft that aren't far behind Lucks potentials.

  17. I will be holding up my poster and chanting as well. The front office and media needs to realize how fed up we colts fans are of our so-called head coach Caldwell. It's obvious that our real coach is Manning, without him Caldwell doesn't know what to do besides stand there and stare. He doesn't change anything, it's the same old offense and defense week after week, and with manning that works because he reads defenses so well and is pin point accurate with a high majority of his passes, but without him the game plan HAS TO BE DIFFERENT. That is how you can tell the mediocre coaches from the great, they run plays on O or blitz on the D at times and the opposing team goes wow I didn't see that coming. I can't recall any times under Caldwell where I thought that was different haven't seen them do that before. And that is all to do with having a bad head coach, and if that doesn't speak for itself without manning were 0-8!!! Without brady Belichek Still managed to get his team to 11-5, Without big Ben Tomlin still went 5-1 I believe it was when Ben was suspended for awhile. Even when the bengals lost Palmer for a year they still won some games under Marvin Lewis. There is plenty of talent on this team to atleast be 3-5 right now. after that embarrassing loss to the saints Jim Caldwell would have to hit the road after this season in my opinion.

  18. WIN WIN WIN!!!!! A true colts fan would never choose to lose. You think Peyton Manning is standing on the sidelines going man I hope we go 0-16? This team has pride losing is never an option. We are bad enough as is and I'm sure every player on the team is depressed enough as is they don't need the so called fans saying we should just tank the season theres 31 other teams dogging us bad enough they should atleast be getting support from indy fans. A #1 draft pick is not worth the ridicule of being the worst team in the league. I say keep fighting and playing with heart and let the cards fall where they lie.

  19. Just because the colts are losing doesn't mean people should stop going to games, buying jerseys etc. I agree that Caldwell, coyer and a couple others should go Jim Caldwell is a horrible Head coach, he would be ok as our assistant coach again but should noway be our head coach. But with this being said I am a die hard colts fan and would go to every home game if I could afford it even if we went 0-16. It's like a family sometimes you don't like an uncle or aunt or cousin or agree with some things you're family does but you still love them and want the best for them. I will support the guys on this football team by going to as many games as I can and cheering them on as long as I'm breathing! So jump off the wagon theres still plenty others to take ur seat.

  20. I agree he is not an nfl caliber coach. He never challenges anything, never goes for it on fourth down (when your down 7 pts and only 3 mins left go for it you *!), and never changes anything up it's the same plays over and over. We need a coach that gets excited and lets his players know when he likes what he sees and gets in their faces when they drop balls over and over again or creates costly stupid penalties. And 3rd and inches hand the rock to Carter!
