  1. Is this guy really that good? This has shades of Da'Rick Rogers to me. I would rather the Colts went through the draft.

it seems everyone has forgotten....this kid flunked out of 2 different programs for his lack of academic ability....and he failed 2 drug tests in 2012and was suspended from the Alabama program...........so the 100 watt bulb may only be burning at 25 watts.......there is a reason he was playing in the CFL.....we don't just need good players.....we need SMART players, and I don't think this kid is the answer....

  2. yeah I will comment on his toughness because me paying money to buy tickets is paying his salary. I'm sorry he's not 150% but at this point of the season I don't think ANY player is even 90%! Man up and get out there and play like u are paid to do.

I have to agree with you........especially since we haven't won every game we played....would be different if we were winning every game blowing everyone out......but last I looked we were only winning every other game....and yet to blow anyone out. Every player is paid to play.........that's why they're called PLAYERS.......they play......not sit and watch when you just don't feel 100 percent....at this point in the season I doubt any player on the field is 100 percent.....just get out their and PLAY.....stop this prima donna crap....

  3. Their third and short passing routes are abysmal. How many times this year have we seen them launch a 20 yard pass only to go three and out, because it was 3 and a few. When you only need 3 yards, why are we sending guys deep?

Conversely, we were facing a 3 and 9, and we elect to do a screen pass, that already failed once in the same drive, for a gain of 2. If that is not the definition of incompetence, I don't know what is.

I think the real issue here is there is NO imagination when it comes to play calling....PEP isn't very creative at all.   It's the same problem they have in the beginning of the game......that's why we don't get off to a fast start...there's no aggression....there's no down field shots......PEP just wants to run Richardson into the back of the Oline and hope something breaks.....unfortunately whats breaking is our own backs......how many times can Luck bring us back from being down 14 or 21 points. They really need to throw away his "first 15 scripted plays" and get down to some real football.......yes yes, I know you have to establish the run game.....but it what if they popped it down field several times and then went back to the run........at this point ANYTHING would be better than the current play calling......

  4. Luck just has not been on the head accurate recently.  He's a little overthrown. Then a little underthrown.  then a little behind a receiver. Then really sails one.  Not very often does he hit a guy right on the numbers in stride.  I put that on Luck, but it could be receivers running imprecise routes too.  dalton was throwin perfect over the should TD passes to his guys.  Luck needs to develop that timing and chemistry with this young WR core.

I'm sorry...but I've seen at least 6 passes over the last few games hit DHB either on the chest or on his face......either way that is not underthrown or over thrown...........the game just changes when its third down and 5 or 6 and DHB gets hit in the chest with a ball and he just drops it........It is SO SO Frustrating to see him do it again and again.....and unfortunately its mostly on Third down when we NEED the catch to keep going. Luck has thrown an errant pass here and there but for crying out loud...when the ball hits you in the numbers or bounces off your facemask then it's the receiver....not the QB. And after watching Rogers yesterday in Cincy it is apparent his hands are WAY better than DHB....so is his YAK..........My vote is to sit DHB and play Rogers and Brazil way more.

  5. I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you.....95% of the time Richardson runs into the back of his own blocker and gets stuffed. I WISH he had the peripheral vision to see where to escape when his blocker is stuffed.....but he doesn't. There have been multiple multiple times when he could have cut left or right behind his blocker and gotten more yardage...be he doesn't.....and it's really the difference between him and the other running backs.....the others Rashad before he got hurt and even brown seem to have way more peripheral vision and the ability to move left or right to get more yards. I know, I know Richardson has only 22 games under his belt...and I really DO hope he learns how to move left or right.....we surely could use a 4 or 5 yard average rather than the 2.3 or 2.4 he's got now.

  6. trade Richardson for a decent wide receiver.........Donald Brown can handle the running.....Richardson has tunnel vision when he is running....he can't see left or right and thusly missing the openings......he follows the lead blocker no matter what....even if he gets backed up right in front of him.....he just can't do lateral movement.....sadly

  7. Dont get me wrong, he is good and will improve eventually but right now Andrew luck has the 2nd worse completetion percentage in the league among 33 starting quarterbacks, at 54.2, 1st is mark Sanchez with 48.2(wow). Andrew luck needs to start making smarter and more accurate throws. Letting someone like Blaine gabbert,Brandon weeden,Alex smith, cam newton, and Ryan tannehill have higher %'s is embarrassing, he must improve

Yet when you watch Mark Sanchez and you watch Andrew Luck..............there is simply no comparison.......Andrew Luck is so much better of a quarterback even as a rookie than Mark Sanchez is it isn't even funny.....

Can his completion percentage get better....sure.....Can Tom Brady's completion percentage get better....sure........ANY QB's completion percentage can get better........SO WHAT..........completion percentage is one insignificant stat that is almost useless........how many games have we been IN...just because of Andrew Luck...never giving up and working his a$$ off......how many have the jets been in.......Mark isn't a rookie...so whats up with that........you see.....all stats can be talked about and made more or less relevant or not.......

And you pronouncing Andrew Lucks efforts as "unacceptable" seems to be inferring that you....of all people.....are the lone judge and jury on this matter and that's what you've decided........again.....SO WHAT.......just because you find something unacceptable doesnt mean it is......and in this instance you are just simply wrong. Sorry. But Andrew Luck is doing a GREAT JOB for all that is going on...rookie....only 4 games....loss of head coach.....constantly changing OL.........Heck I'm amazed at what he HAS done....and if it is any kind of sign at all of what he will become....Andrew Luck is going to absolutely great....and much sooner than later.. :whatever:

  8. It's so easy to sit back here and say this guy sucked and that guy sucked......I for one wouldn't want to be the one going up against Peppers at any moment in time.....and if i had to........I would consider it a HUGE WIN personally if Peppers never got to LUCK......which is the bottom line commandment here.........heck...give all the pressure you want......but i you didnt get to my QB....I win.........don't care what you say.......Costanzo had a good good day.......

  9. I don't care what ANYBODY says........this was a great start for us as a new team........yes there were mistakes....yes there were blown coverages.....yes there were missed tackles......yes there where a couple of injuries........

BUT for a NEW team.....full of rookies......full of new coaches......a rookie QB in Luck......a new scheme on defense and a new scheme on offense.....we did a far far better job than almost anyone expected.......

Come on.......with the exception of the 3 dropped balls by receivers....and the two interceptions out to deep right side of the field...we played our hearts out and did a very good job....a very good job....

THE BEST THING about all of the misques.....were that they were mistakes....and mistakes can be fixed.......DO WE SUCK......absolutely not....we made a handful of mistakes on our first time out........everything else was great....and they never gave up or quite when we were down......our OL is going to be killer......our DL is also going to be a run stuffing monster.......I can't wait for everyone to gel and become the MONSTER they will be...

We have the makings of a GREAT team and I am so excited to whatch them play on and get better every week........I love the colts.

  10. I really don't care what ANYBODY says.......we haven't really played or won a good preseason game in years.....i think for the last four years we are 2 and 14....and quite frankly I was tired of seeing all the old colts putting up a half effort in preseason, "cause it doesn't really matter"

I am REALLY REALLY AMPED that all the new colts...and i mean everybody on the team....stood up and got counted...I don't care that it was Preseason.....there were a lot of general plays run and alot of the new colts took care of business and did VERY well.....so all the people who are saying dont get your hopes up and so on and so on......they can go take a hike......its EXCITING to see this new team play...preseason or not.....

  11. I like Peyton Manning....and have cheered for him since the day he arrived in Indy.....BUT If Peyton Manning CHOOSES to go to the Titans, then I will root for him the same way i root for the Titans......and that is that they get their butts kicked every game.....they are in our division and don't deserve or merit anything but that kind of unsupport.......BOOOO TITANS.....therefor BOOO Manning......

Everyone says its just business......once again, I'm sorry, a year of NOT playing and getting paid MILLIONS to do so wasnt enough to keep him in Indy...so be it.....I don't owe him anything......ESPECIALLY if he goes to a rival, in our division.

Nice to know you but.......now you chose to be the enemy..........bye see ya......hopefully on your butt as much as possible.....

    Sorry, it's just business.......

  12. Don't ya just love all these scenarios being tossed around with WE MUST do this or WE HAVE TO do this....cut mathis, trade freeney......cut freeney, trade mathis.......and the best.....trade Peyton Manning..........it all just boggles my mind as to just how many forum members here are just out of their minds with what Irsay MUST DO or HAS TO DO.........

my 2 cents tho..........for those who want to trade mathis or freeney......or cut one and restructure the other....or compare stats of the two.....Don't you think the two of them are somewhat of a package.......mathis wouldn't have nearly the stats he does if freeney wasn't there taking the double teams all the time.....and freeney would have the stats he does if there wasnt an opposing player like mathis causing the havock he does......

and as far as trading or cutting Peyton Manning..............there's just one simple thing to say about that.......NO!

Irsay is a big boy...proven to be quite smart and savy.......just let him work his way through all this with the new gm and I'm sure he will come up with the best scenario for the colts.....not necessarily for the sometimes vocal colts fans......but for sure for the colts as a team....

    there.... :neener: :neener:

  13. I believe the Colts woes are not as a result of "inexperience and injuries". That is a cop-out to deflect criticism from the real issues - NFL worst coaching, poor front office, lack of talent - period. Our O line is improving but is still one of the least talented lines in the NFL. Our interior D line, with the exception of Nevis when he is healthy, is the joke of the league - from a talent and performance criteria. Our starting DEs are part timers who have not played well at all this season and their backups are untalented and probably would not make another NFL team's roster. Our Line Backing corp is small, can't shed blockers, misses far too many gap assignments, are poor in pass coverage and misses far too many tackles. Yes our LBs are 1st and 5th in the NFL in total tackling but that is more of a reflection on the sorry state of our D line and DBs. Our secondary, with the exception of Bethea is far and away the worst in the NFL. Even when our D was intact (opening day vs Texans) we were beat like circus monkees by the the Texans offense. Our Special Teams as a whole this year has been bottom three in the NFL.

Every team has injuries and inexperienced players. They never use that as an excuse (like some) as the reason for their failures. Our biggest problems is simply lack of NFL talent, coaching and poor player acquisition/management.

Can you please be just a little more specific about how bad we are and in what areas?? :whiteflag:

  14. Before anybody starts picking off names of people making too much money............

lets first make a list of the people at your own company or job and see how much they make compared to you.......and pick that list apart first.........ah.....then its not so easy......you mean you are honestly worth what your getting paid now......or is your pay as high as it is because you've been doing a great job for many years.......????....or you signed a contract that pays you the big bucks no matter what....

Leave the poor players and their salaries alone........they work as hard if not harder than any one of us for their money.

  15. .......costing games. Under no system or coach have LB's ever been taught to vacate the zone behind the defensive line as quickly as we've seen the Colts LB's do. And, on more than a few occasions I've watched two LB's go into the same gap on running plays. It was prevalent in weeks 1 and 2, and again last night. I guarantee the LB's are being read the riot act in the film room over this. Dungy in the past, Caldwell now, along with a few players have addressed this in the media without going into the weeds by saying "there are things we can fix" and "we just have to play better". Problem is do the Colts have the LB's to get the job done. Brackett was one although his size becomes a liability when offensive linemen are able to reach the second level on running plays. Angerer is quickly becoming a stud but he's not there yet. The jury's still out on Conner but you have to like his motor. Wheeler can tackle but he's lost unless the ball carrier is right in front of him. Honestly none of these guys start on a team that wins with defense right now, and the Colts are going to have to win some games with defense until we see 18 back on the field.

I guarantee you that Angerer was running back 20 yards at the snap because he was coached to do so.........if a linebacker did that on his own...six plays in a row and let the the other team score because of it...he would have been yanked.......BUT....that was the coaches call...not Angerers....

That being said....you are correct.......LBs vacating the middle of the field play after play after play is RIDICULOUS....and can only result in bad things........

  16. I am not a coach or a professional or anything above a 30+ year fan of the colts......but ......i don't care what ANYONE says.....the first TD pass to Garcon was a beautifully thrown deep pass with perfect timing......and that my friends is something that Collins could NEVER do.... Painter led the receiver perfectly and the ball had enough depth on it to hit Garcon EXACTLY in stride which let him get all the YAC.......

First....Collins can't throw the ball that deep with accuracy and

Second....Collins doesnt have a strong enough arm to throw that kind of ball.....

Third......Collins can't lead the receiver like that.......he has to see the receiver get to a spot....then he throws..... which is why most of his balls miss left to right of the receiver.....he just can't anticipate where the receiver is GOING to be......

Painter should start from now until he can't or Peyton returns.......that is the ONLY way he will ripen into the QB that he can be......If he doesnt play then how the heck is going to get better........simple fact.

  17. Colts recap week 4:

Painter held his own most of the game and had 2 terriffic passes for touchdowns......

Offense played pretty well most of the night

Defense played according to what was called......unfortunately the play calling for the defense was so sad.....

Hey Angerer....as soon as the ball snaps.....run down the field 20 yards and leave the middle wide open for the bucs to dump a 7-8 yard pass right down the middle where you used to be...

Absolutely Ridiculous........again and again and again.......

Oh and corners...just to give the bucs as much advantage as we can......lay off about 8-10 yards.....we wouldnt want to intimidate anyone.....

The defensive play calling absolutely sucked.
