  1. Any team that has gone through a total rebuild and gone 11-5 three strait years is over achieving. 49 new players and 2 offensive coordinators in three seasons with a rookie QB, that is over achieving by anyone's standards. If you don't think that it's OK but I think most think other wise.

Well, overachieving, to me, would mean performing beyond abilities, not performing beyond expectations of the general fan base.

  2. Is this a serious question or sarcasm?

    I'd say sarcastic/semi-serious.

This team is 11-5 three years running, going farther in the playoffs every year, yet many people still say they are overachieving.

    I don't see it. I see progress.

How long before people just say they are a good team, and expect that they can challenge any NFL team on any stage?

  3. This team has over achieved for the past two years. We thought they had hit a plateau or even stalled out a few weeks ago, and while it's true that the team isn't perfect, here they are over achieving again. This program is still ahead of schedule, and the staff and ownership deserve a lot of credit for that.

How many years does a team need to overachieve before its no longer considered overachieving?

  4. Everything looked good.. besides the inability to get in the endzone.. and our offensive line is a major major major problem.. andrew gets hit every play.. its becoming a real concern.. he is the most hit/sacked qb in thee league. Hes been hit 110+ time in 9 games.. gonna be hard to make any kinda playoff run.. specially when we go against a good pass rush

Well, when you run more pass plays than any other team in the league... statistics/probability come into play.

I have a feeling if you were to look at this as a percentage of drop backs instead of just the raw number of times he gets hit/sacked, he may not be the most hit in the league. That's just a hunch though.

  5. More of those pitch plays where they run the stretch to the outside please. They both get 8-9 yards consistently out of those.

And no more of that power set where the TE comes in motion, sets up in the backfield and they run up the gut on first down. I don't think they've ever picked up more than 1 yard with that play. Please stop it! I swear at my TV every time i see it coming.

  6. Let's just look at OFFENSIVE points per game.

    1 - 17 (Wash)

    2 - 30 (Raiders)

    3 - 17 (Giants)

    4 - 16 (Buffalo - JJ Watt pick 6 to make up the 23)

    5 - 17 (Dallas)

Other than the lowly Raiders, their offense has not scored more than 17 points in any game. Even with the 30 point outlier, they average just 19.4 points per game on offense.

    Not exactly high octane there.

    Colts are averaging 31.2

This helps me to feel pretty good about the odds.

  7. Eagles last touchdown doesn't happen without the "horse collar" call. That drive would've been stopped on that play. That call was the last of a string of calls that turned the game over to the Eagles. Calls like that should be reviewable. At least the New York replay official should be able to chime in with the refs on the field and say "no guys, you got that one wrong."

I am usually one to say calls go both ways and won't swing a game one way or the other, but this game was indeed decided by the refs.

  8. I don't know. Lots of contact. I can see the case for a flag, but I can see why they didn't throw one also.

And I was just saying, despite all the talk about holding and illegal contact, it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be after the beginning of the preseason.

  9. Bridgewater is as worthy a number one as anyone would be. I agree about Cutler, and said as much earlier in the thread. Though if we could somehow still attain him, I'm just saying I wouldn't be opposed to it. When a team loses this many games after being so good, it is a mental thing and the losing continues and continues until it is past the point of ridiculousness. You of all people should know what I'm talking about here. I don't think things will be nearly this bad next year.

Cutler is a head case. Trade for Cousins.

  10. I gave him the same comparison but I disagree about the speed when he played Bama dude was getting tons of separation he had speed and hands his problem may be consistency but I believe he will be world's better than Floyd

As a #2, Floyd has 32 catches for 446 (13.9 per catch) at the halfway point of the season.

Not too bad for a still young #2 receiver. You must have a ton of confidence in this kid!

  11. I began as a Raiders fan in High school. Their games were never played on TV here in Indiana, and they played a dirty highly penalized brand of ball that I didn't agree with, so I was in search of a new team. And since the Colts were doing quite well with Harbaugh under center, I jumped on the bandwagon. My blood then turned blue.

  12.

And hopefully, the connivers who do the NFL scheduling don't decide that this match-up has to become some sort of annual ritual for the balance of Manning's career.

You do realize that if both teams win their respective divisions year after year, it will be an annual match-up, much like the annual Colts/Pats match-ups were, and that the schedules have nothing to do with what anyone decides, right?

  13. The run game was not the problem - 17 rushes for 74 yards or 4.4 per carry (4.2 if you don't include Luck).

There were times when I looked at the Chargers' D and thought Luck should have checked to a run rather than pass, but it is what it is.

    Dropped passes were a killer.

Toler's penalties kept some of the Chargers' drives alive.

Freeman leaving in the second half really hurt.

Mathis was being mugged on the TD pass, IMO.

The looks on the players' faces said it all. They just weren't focused.

Normally, only giving up 19 points will win you the game when you have a good offense, but that offense has to execute.

Overall, I thought the right plays were called in the right situations. They were just poorly executed.

  14. I don't remember when the plays were during the game, but two examples of this, up the middle were:

On one play, Walden was inside and tried a spin move to get around his blocker turning his back to Wilson. Wilson saw this and quickly ran right by him.

Another play, Conner got sucked in on the run fake and Wilson ran right through his gap.

These are just two plays that I particularly remember that Colt defenders had bad gap discipline and got burned. There were quite a few more where my TV got an ear full, But these two really stuck in my head.

    Loved the win!!

  15. I've been to both stadiums. The main thing I noticed is that most Colts fans don't start making noise until the opposing team is about to run their third down play. This has always irritated me. They need to keep the noise going THE ENTIRE TIME THE OPPOSING OFFENSE IS ON THE FIELD!!

I look around at other fans and notice that they are standing and clapping, but not yelling. I would say not even 50% of the people in the stands use their vocal chords during the games. It could get much louder in that stadium.
